Introduction:Allergic rhinitis (AR), clinically compatible with Vataja pratisyaya, is a highly prevalent global health issue that has a substantial negative effect on quality of life, especially children. In the text Basavarajiyam, Shatyadhi churna is mentioned in the treatment of Pratisyaya (~rhinitis) to be taken along with Ghrita and Guda. The study was undertaken with the objective to evaluate the efficacy of Shatyadhi churna in Vataja pratisyaya w. r. t AR among children of 6–16 year age in comparison with syrup Levocetirizine (LCZ).Methods:Ethically approved trial was two-arm, randomized, open-labeled, controlled, parallel, interventional study with allocation ratio 1:1, conducted at All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi on outpatient department basis.Results:In the present study, out of total 30 enrolled participants, 16 patients were assigned to intervention group, Shatyadhi churna (trial period of 4 weeks) and 14 others were assigned to control group, Syrup LCZ (trial period of 2 weeks). Treatment with the trial drug significantly reduced the clinical features, immunoglobulin E level and improved the health-related quality of life among the participants.Conclusion:The anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, analgesic, antioxidant properties and Dipana (digestion enhancer), Ama pachana (metabolism enhancer), Anulomana (regularizing physiological movement), Srotoshodhaka (cleansing of functional channels) and Rasayana (rejuvenation) attributes of each individual drugs are responsible for Doshapratyanika (treatment specified to regulatory functional factors of body) as well as Vyadhipratyanika chikitsa (disease specific treatment) of Shatyadhi churna in the management of Vataja pratisyaya w. r. t AR.

The Veda is a mass of words composed of mantras and Brahmanas. Among the Brahmanical literatures, the Aitareya Brahman within the Rig Veda occupies the foremost place. There are many kinds of anecdotes. One of them, and well known, is the story of Shunahshepo. The influence of Chopakhyana is seen not only in Vedic literature but also in post-Vedic literature. Where does the root of the story lie? Or how did the story of the anecdote unfold? What are the twisted forms? I will discuss the impact of the narrative on the present society or what it is like in this essay alone.

Objective: The objective of this study is to review existing clinical trials in humans having Ayurveda-based treatment procedures for the management of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Data Source: Database review, with searches conducted in PubMed, Google Scholar, AYUSH Research Portal, and DHARA. Search terms included “Autism Spectrum Disorder,” “ASD,” and “Ayurveda” articles dated between January 2000 and April 2020 were chosen. The inclusion criteria were trials in humans involving a treatment component “Ayurveda”-based treatment procedures as a remedy for “Autism Spectrum Disorder.” Review Method: Studies fulfilling inclusion criteria having “Ayurveda”-based treatment procedures as a remedy for “Autism Spectrum Disorder.” Were included. Conclusion: The disease ASD described in the conventional system of medicine resembles as Unmada disease elaborated in Ayurveda classics. There are very less studies reported on ASD available. Twenty-three articles were screened; six human clinical studies met inclusion criteria. Three studies used the Childhood Autism Rating Scale and Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist Scale; other studies used the Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism, Clinical Global Impression, and Aberrant Behaviour Checklist (ABC) for assessment of ASD. One study classified ASD into two types of Unmada based on Dosha predominance and used different lines of treatment accordingly. Almost all studies (five studies) used formulations having Medhya (nootropic) ingredients in form of Ghrita in ASD as internal medication. Shirolepa, Nasya, Abhyanga, Basti, and other Panchakarma procedures are well explored in ASD, whereas Sodhan procedure Vaman (therapeutic emesis), and Virechana (therapeutic purgation) are still unexplored. All the studies have shown the effectiveness of Ayurvedic management in relieving the signs and symptoms in children with ASD. There is no adverse effect of internal medication as well as Panchakarma procedure reported in these studies which depict safety of management.
