TEACHING models , *PROBLEM-based learning , *HIGHER education , *BUSINESSPEOPLE , *PROJECT method in teaching - Abstract
The participation of many well-trained and highly skilled entrepreneurs in the social and economic life is an important and topical policy goal. In relation to this goal, the question arises how we can train entrepreneurs in higher education. This paper contributes to the discussion of this question. It aims to present how different teaching and learning models are utilised in entrepreneurial education. The supply model emphasises knowledge-transfer, the demand model focuses on students' knowledge-construction, while the competence model facilitates students' learning by the shaping of and adaptation to complex, professional situations. The second part discusses these models with regards to entrepreneurial education. Lastly, the paper touches upon the issue of how the different models might reinforce each other. QUALITY of service , *UNIVERSITIES & colleges , *TOTAL quality management , *HIGHER education , *SERVICE industries - Abstract
The structural changes that have taken place not only in the service sector but specifically in higher education in recent decades, changes in financing conditions, the growing expectations of the socio-economic environment, and increasing competition both domestically and internationally pose new challenges to higher education institutions in the field of service quality management. The primary aim of this paper is to give an overview of the diversified efforts in service quality measurement and evaluation in higher education context. In doing so, the most important antecedents, the primary role of students among stakeholders in higher education, and the most popular approaches based on the SERVQUAL and SERVPERF model are reviewed. The authors' goal is to summarise the institutional tasks that enable the establishment of methodological applications and the development of a framework aiming at reliable and valid institutional service quality measurement and evaluation. STRUCTURAL equation modeling , *UNIVERSITIES & colleges , *FOREIGN students , *CURRICULUM , *LOYALTY - Abstract
Internationalization has been a widely researched topic in recent years. Higher education institutions developed a need to examine foreign student expectations, satisfaction, and loyalty, as there has been an upsurge in foreign student numbers. Therefore, the current paper aims to uncover what factors affect foreign student satisfaction and loyalty at the University of Szeged. Based on the PLS-SEM (partial least squares – structural equation modelling) analysis of the theoretical model, research results indicate that competences and content of the curriculum influence university-related satisfaction, while non-university-related satisfaction is affected by living in the city, international environment, and places to spend free time at. Both university- and non-university-related satisfaction have an effect on loyalty. The results confirm that in order to understand foreign student satisfaction and loyalty, aspects not strictly related to the university should also be studied, besides university-related factors. HIGHER education , *UNIVERSITIES & colleges , *PASTORAL theology , *CONTRACTS , *INTEGRITY - Abstract
The paper examines the introduction and operation of a three-year maintainer agreement between 2008 and 2010 in the Hungarian higher education. In 2017, public higher education institutions concluded a three-year agreement with the Ministry of Education, under which they agreed to achieve indicator targets for stable financing. The main issue of the study is why institutions have signed an agreement that has exposed them to significant risks which were likely to occur. The question is answered with the help of the trust literature. In the paper the ministry's reliability will be analysed, that is, its competence, goodwill and integrity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

QUALITY of service , *UNIVERSITIES & colleges , *INTERNATIONAL competition , *ADMINISTRATIVE assistants , *HIGHER education - Abstract
Due to the increasing social and economic role of higher education and to the intensifying national and international competition in the sector, institutional management boards gradually accept that the application of various management tools and methods including quality management ones is a necessity in order to fulfil the needs and expectations of those who 'consume' the services provided by higher education institutions. The primary aim of this paper is to introduce our service quality measuring and evaluating efforts in case of project work courses which are not part of the regular end-of-semester course evaluation system due to their highly special characteristics. Following the PDCA philosophy, the purpose of the conducted quantitative and qualitative analyses is to continuously improve not only the supervising and related supporting and administrative processes, but also to ensure inputs for the further improvement of the applied framework and methodology. These efforts are supported by the experiences and data gained during the implementation efforts of the last few semesters. Future improvement efforts and further research directions are also outlined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MASSIVE open online courses , *TECHNOLOGY Acceptance Model , *BUSINESS conferences , *HIGHER education , *DISTANCE education , *CHIEF information officers - Abstract
In 2019, finding a business conference where the topic of digital transformation is not mentioned as a challenge identified in the opening presentation is almost unimaginable. In our article, we are dealing with the educational aspect of digitization. In the first part of our paper, we show that MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) type of education can be an operational model for mass personalization in higher education. On the one hand, this is linked to conventional higher education due to the distance learning background and, on the other hand, points towards a new solution in the digital ecosystem where these skills are already well utilized and expected from partners and colleagues. In the second part of our article, building on technology acceptance models (TAM), we demonstrate the results of an empirical exploration research proving that such an autonomous - kind of “campusless” - a digital educational solution can be acceptable to higher education students. - Abstract
The research results of the recent past proved that the inequalities in the spatial distribution of people with tertiary education have been decreasing since the political transformation in Hungary. At the first glance it seems to be good news because it could be perhaps an indicator of the convergence and catch up at the periphery. The purpose of our paper is to give an insight into this trend, analyze its main reasons and spatial patterns (without being exhaustive), and reveal therefore its mechanisms. Our most important conclusions can be summarized as the follows. Although we also proved the existence of the process in question on national level, we found in fact a strongly asymmetric phenomenon. In fact the peripheral, most disadvantageous settlements do not benefit from the fact that the spatial dispersion of people with diploma has become less concentrated indeed; they are only 'passive viewers' of the process. The decrease of the weight of Budapest and other large cities has been compensated first and foremost by the 'strengthening' of the already developed, prosperous settlements around the higher education centres. Therefore the decreasing level of spatial concentration of high-skilled people in Hungary, showed by the Gini, Hoover as well as Hirschman- Herfindahl Indices, can be considered rather the outcome of the 'suburbanisation of diplomas'. GRADUATES , *COLLEGE teachers , *HIGHER education , *OCCUPATIONS , *EMPLOYMENT - Abstract
The paper is the product of a professor's and a researcher's (both working in higher education) aim to determine the expectations of the job market as regards creativity in fresh graduates. The idea for this came from an EU creativity study which had included Hungarian high school teachers. The authors have integrated the database (337 persons) of these teachers' answers into the study. They also generated a second sample that covered university students (292 persons). As a third element, the authors assessed the opinion of 112 HR managers online and in person as regards the importance and measurability of creativity, as well as their views on the statements per- taming to and definition of creativity as given in the EU creativity project. The paper presents the results of the quantitative analysis of the responses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

INFORMATION science , *HIGHER education , *HUNGARIANS , *LIBRARY science , *INFORMATION technology , *CURRICULUM , *EDUCATION - Abstract
The past few years have brought radical changes in the Hungarian higher educational system. Similarly to other training programmes, the training in library and information sciences has been subject to significant modification too. Beside structural changes of the training, LIS departments and schools are striving to keep up with the technological requirements of the information age with syllabuses focusing on IT-related subjects. This tendency is justified on the one hand, since library services do have to keep up with the fast development of information technologies. However, we have to keep in mind that in order to train competent LIS professionals, the training programme must be founded on a solid, long term, progressive concept. In addition to developing IT skills, students need to get familiar with all the basic principles of library and information sciences. These principles have been somewhat neglected over the past few years in favour of the use of information technology tools, nevertheless, libraries are not able to provide quality services without them. Unfortunately there are a few areas of librarianship and related work processes that are missing from current LIS curricula or are only included as theoretical subjects. This paper demonstrates the shortcomings of the current training programmes and argues that structural modifications in the training system need to be followed by the improvement of the syllabuses too.
