Abstract

Compressional resistance of the head and its role in the mechanism of fractures in traffic accidents were studied in five formalin-fixed heads. Before and after the experiment X-ray examination was carried out. Because of the variability of fractures coming into being, it was difficult to distinguish definite types. Nevertheless, experimentally produced fractures appeared to be nearly the same, as those seen in clinical practice.
