András Sugár interviewed Alexander Dubček in the spring of 1989 for the Hungarian Television programme Panorama. The broadcast of the interview caused a minor diplomatic-political upset in Czechoslovak-Hungarian relations. Sugár wanted to publish the transcript of the interview, but this ran into obstacles due to the licensing system still in effect at the time. This situation, which affected the journalist's plans, soon changed. The aim of this paper is to illustrate, through the example of the problem of publishing, how the press licensing system in Hungary changed during 1989 and how the media in Hungary reacted to the image of Czechoslovakia. The purpose of this study is to provide a bibliographic description of the works published in the series The Library of the Hungarian Geographical Society, based on contemporary library sources. The study on the history of publication of the series will eventually follow as a separate paper in which I shall present the cooperation between the Hungarian Geographical Society and its publishers, R. This article summarizes the publishing history of Mihály Babits's volume, Nyugtalanság völgye [The Valley of Unrest]. In doing so, it covers the publishing background of the book and briefly introduces the history of Táltos Kiadó [Taltos Publishing House]. During my work on the critical edition of Babits's poems, I noticed the problem of the typographic workmanship. In the different copies of the volume, I have found countless printer's errors, but these errors cannot be discovered in all copies. In order to understand the problem, I checked more copies of the volume and I described the inordinately perceptible printer's errors. This peculiarity of publishing entails several textological questions. While searching for the answers, I tried to reveal the potential technical causes of printer's errors, and in doing so I introduced an interesting episode of the history of Apostol Press (they performed the print jobs) of February 1919 which may have had something to do with the printer's errors in the volume. L'auteur de la présente étude se propose de reconstruire les pratiques éditoriales, publicitaires et de diffusion des collections de roman aux 18e-19e siècles. Il est notoire que le tournant du siècle est la période de la conquête de la prose en langue hongroise et de l'essor quantitatif du roman. L'accroissement spectaculaire du nombre des romans publiés a rendu nécessaire l'établissement d'un régime de financement et de diffusion, ainsi que la mise en place de techniques publicitaires efficaces. Les types de textes correspondant à cette logique - le 'rapport', 'l'avis', la 'recension' et enfin le 'compte-rendu' - illustrent la sortie de l'activité publicitaire de la sphère privée: les attraits des livres déjà publiés (ou en cours de publication) y sont détaillés pour capter l'attention d'un public très large. Il est indiscutable que la diffusion et la commercialisation de cette marchandise qu'est le livre devient une préoccupation majeure des éditeurs de l'époque. Les annonces et les comptes-rendus parus dans les périodiques ont non seulement contribué à la diffusion plus efficace des produits, mais ils ont également créé la possibilité d'un discours critique littéraire. Afin de pouvoir interpréter dans son contexte la promotion de la prose et le triomphe du roman au tournant des 18e-19e siècles, il convient de se servir des méthodes que nous fournit la sociologie de la littérature.
