From interspecific breeding of weatherfish (Misgurnus fossilis) eggs and crucian carp (Carassius carassius) sperm, viable larvae were hatched. Two female fish were reared until their sexual maturation. The applied PCR-RFLP genetic methods did not show male genom (C. carassius) in the juveniles so ginogenetical origin of the two individuals was proven. Eggs from further reproduction of a female fish was fertilised by sperm of weatherfish. Eight viable larvae were hatched (F1R1 generation). The results of chromosome preparation suggested two F1R1 offsprings were tetraploid (4n=100) and two offspring hexaploid (6n=150).
