The rise of ICT specialists in the computer field due to Industry 4.0 is notable, particularly in Indonesia's e-commerce and technology-driven markets. This study explores the demand for qualified informatics engineering professionals, focusing on their ICT and English language skills. Employing a qualitative phenomenological case study design, the research gathered data through semi-structured interviews with informatics engineering specialists and employers. It also scrutinized an English lesson program at a polytechnic in Indonesia through interviews with key figures and document analysis. The study identifies two key findings: demand emphasizes the critical role of reading skills, especially in programming languages and technology documentation, while supply reveals a gap between higher education materials and workplace requirements. The curriculum appears to neglect English proficiency, hindering graduates' performance. Consequently, the study advocates for higher education reform, urging institutions to align their programs with industry demands. Collaboration between government, universities, and industry stakeholders, especially at the regional level, is proposed to bridge the gap and enhance the preparedness of informatics engineering graduates for the evolving industry landscape. The findings underscore the importance of creativity and originality in technology creation, urging institutions to adapt swiftly to the dynamic informatics engineering landscape.

English laboratory may refer to conventional computer uses or the Computer Assisted Language Laboratory (CALL) in the process of English teaching. The English Department of Universitas Negeri Manado uses modern form of language laboratory teaching. The research was conducted in the Department of English in which its population was taken from the first semester students appearing in the academic year 2020/2021 and sitting in five classes and each class had twenty five students. The result is supported by the data showing tobs>ttable (P = 0.05); (df = 48) 8,031 > 2,010(P = 0.05); (df = 48). If t- observed < t-table, the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is rejected. There is a difference mean score obtained from both of controlled group at 67 showing 46% and the experimental group reaches 80,08 referring to 59.02 %. The students who had treatment in English laboratory management use successfully got higher score than students who did not have treatment about such management use. So it may conclude that the Language Laboratory management plays an important role in the success of learning English, especially to improve students' English speaking skills.

IMPROVING SANTRI’S ENGLISH SKILLS IN THE POST-COVID-19 PERIOD THROUGH THE TOEFL TEACHING PROGRAM IN PESANTREN-BASED SMA. This Community Service (PKM) aims to improve English skills through the TOEFL teaching program for santri of PPTQ Al Asy'ariyyah Kalibeber, Wonosobo. The santri also received formal education at SMA Takhassus Alqur'an Wonosobo. One of the factors underlies this PKM is that these santri have never received TOEFL material. In addition, they also do not know what skills are tested on the TOEFL. The methods used in this PKM are (1) Preparation (by conducting a needs analysis through FGD with the English teachers), (2) Providing material (using lecture, presentation, question and answer methods, as well as practice questions and discussions), and ( 3) evaluating the success of PKM (by holding a TOEFL-Like Test). Based on the results of the PKM evaluation, the team concluded that this service activity reached the standard according to the specified target because it was able to provide participants with an understanding of the skills tested in the TOEFL-Like Test. In addition, the first experience of 27 santri in the TOEFL-Like Test with a mean score of 376.70 from those who initially did not have knowledge of the TOEFL was a pretty good achievement. The evaluation results also showed that of the three skills tested, the students had weaknesses in structure and written expression, and the best in reading skills, while listening skills were in expression of structural and writing skills as well as reading skills.

Recent studies have revealed that English has become a global language that is commonly used, particularly in the education sector, for various purposes. In the education sector, teachers serve as the most important role model in improving learners’ English language competency. Evidently, at the age of 4 to 6 years old, preschoolers are proven to be able to learn a second language sufficiently hence it is critical for pre-school teachers to be able to teach English to the children at this stage precisely. English, however, is not set to become one of the major requirements for pre-school teachers, especially in Pahang, Malaysia. Due to this, the beliefs of the pre-school teachers initiate a critical indicator in deciding if, given the circumstances, pre-school children can receive adequate English inputs and exposure at their age. The aim of this study is to identify the beliefs of pre-school teachers in their ability of teaching English to preschoolers in Pahang, Malaysia. In the study, 60 pre-school teachers in Pahang were given a set of questionnaires consisting of 14 items and all 60 were returned. In the pilot study, the questionnaire showed a 0.9 Cronbach alpha value indicating a high reliability point. The findings of this study suggest a much more positive view of teachers’ beliefs in pre-school English teachings. This can become a stimulus for the growth of English proficiency among Malaysian children and consequently improve the standard of English in Malaysia in the future.

This turned out that first; students taught by the PRWR strategy have better reading comprehension than that of by Translation and Reading Aloud. Second, students with high English proficiency taught by the PRWR strategy have better reading comprehension than that of taught by Translation and Reading Aloud. Third, there was no interaction between reading strategy and English proficiency. Abstract: This quantitative study examined the role of AQ on English proficiency. The four dimensions of AQ named Control (x1), Ownership (x2), Reach (x3) and Endurance (x4) were independent variables while TOEIC score (y) was dependent variable. The subjects were 77 students of ELT Department. The result showed that AQ had influenced 15.9% (R2 = .159) to TOEIC score. There was significant influence of CORE to TOEIC score simultaneously (F>Ftable=3.44>2.33). Nevertheless, the result of partial regression analysis showed only Control (t>ttable=2.89>1.66) had significantly influenced TOEIC. Thus, this research had statistically proven that AQ provided minor contribution to students’ English Proficiency.
