Scientometric is branch of Science. Scientometric explain about input and output resources in term of organisational structure. Scientometric is the Science of measuring and analyzing Science. Modern Scientometric is mostly based on the work of Derek J.de Solla Price and Eugene Garfield. A scientometric assessment of the Journal of King Saud University-Computer and Information Sciences (JKSU-CIS) 2004-2014 has been conducted. The study explains on the various aspects of the Journal, such as its distribution of article by year, authorship patterns, authors' degree of collaboration, authorship productivity pattern, distribution of citations by bibliographical forms, subject distributions, citation patterns, rank of cited authors, and geographical distributions of authors. This paper also highlighted institution by distributions and application of Bradford's law of scattering. The results of this study provide a better understanding of patterns, trends and other important factors as a basis for directing research activities, sharing knowledge and collaborating in the area of computers science research. The article focuses on the Susan Barbara Tallmon Sargent Collection, one of the numerous digital collections at the J. Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah centered upon the papers of Susan Tallmon Sargent, a physician who served as a medical missionary in China in the early 20th century. The collection includes correspondence relating to her education which culminated in her graduation from Northwestern in Chicago in 1902 and other documents about medical missionaries in China.

Paper studies bibliometric analysis of Indian open access LIS journal for five years from 2011 to 2015. Total 218 published articles were examined and analyzed for distribution of articles, authorship pattern, degree of collaboration, and geographical distribution of articles has been done. Inferences has been drawn from the analysis that journal prevalent two authorship patterns with 0.66 degree of collaboration, India as top most contributor of the articles for the journal and amongst foreign countries Nigeria is the highest contributor. Tamil Nadu is the highest contributor amongst Indian states and union territories. Journal Articles were found most prevalent source of information for writing research papers and used as citation. Today electronic databases have become the backbone of many academic libraries around the globe including Ghana. This is largely due to its advantages over the print resources. Libraries spend colossal amount of resources on online databases in a bid to enhance teaching, learning and research in institutions of higher learning. This study was carried out to examine the usage of online databases by faculty members of the University of Education, Winneba. It focuses on only the Winneba campus to address the following objectives among others; explore the awareness level of the databases the university subscribes to and to determine the extent of use and the relevance of the databases by faculty. Four research questions were formulated to guide the study. The study was a survey and made use of questionnaire to elicit data from the respondents. A sample population of 210 was given questionnaires bearing in mind the research questions which guided the study. Data was analysed using frequencies and simple percentages. The results of the study revealed that majority of respondents were aware of the databases though there were few of them who did not know the existence of the databases. It further established that a number of faculty members who utilise the databases, had knowledge of some of the databases and use them mainly for research and other educational activities. However, the results indicated that though faculty acknowledges the importance of the databases to their information needs, there were few hindrances that inhibit their effective use of the databases, these were; no access to the databases outside the campus, often passwords to some databases not functioning, and issues bothering on internet connectivity. Library services are undergoing transformation. The transformation from manual to automated systems is changing the services provided by these libraries and the way they are performed. But the automation programmes of Nigerian libraries are facing serious threat of inadequate funding. Inadequate funding is affecting the ability to adopt good software that incorporates all the features that can turn around library services. It has however been discovered that there are some government parastatals which can be made to be of assistance to these libraries. These are software oriented industries like NITDA, ISPON, Digital Bridge Institute, et cetera. These institutions can be made to work in partnership with the libraries on how their services can be enhanced. Emotions form a part of the individual variables that play a key role in the determination of information seeking behaviour of an individual. Anxiety and uncertainty characterize the initial phases of the process of searching for information. The affective indications of uncertainty, frustration, and confusion lead to vague and imprecise thoughts regarding a problem or topic. However, a shift to focused knowledge leads to a decline in uncertainty and increase in confidence. The current study relies on a single holistic case study in which students of Manchester Metropolitan University are the case and their emotional response to search. Consequently, the study follows a descriptor-explanatory design that involves the description of the phenomenon through a review of literature and explanations of such occurrence through primary data collected via interviews with participants. The researcher conducted face-to-face interviews for individual. The findings confirm earlier observations regarding the emotional response to the search process during the initial stages. As indicated by several respondents, the initial stages of searching are complicated because of the uncertainty about the topic and the vagueness of thoughts. At this stage, the respondents confirm their need for information, which occurs through the identification of the research gap and the search for background information. Apprehension at this stage emanates from the confusion regarding the lack of focus on the search of information. This study investigated library instruction methods, effect and the challenges in academic libraries using the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) students as the target population. Library instruction is a core activity of the academic libraries that entails educating, enlightening, guiding and helping the library users to identify, understand and utilize library information resources effectively. A survey research design was adopted for the study. The population consists of seven hundred and seventy-three 100 level students who registered for Use of Library (GSE 112) course in the first semester of 2015/2016 academic session. The questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. Using a consensus sampling technique, all the 773 students participated in the study during a seminar organized for the 100 level students at the end of the second semester by August 2016. All the questionnaires were retrieved while 643 were found usable representing 83 percent. The finding showed that classroom teaching, library orientation and library guide (X = 3.00, SD = 000) were the methods mostly used while guided library tour (X = 2.53, SD = 667), library and one-on-one mentoring (X = 2.48, SD = 716) were also used to instruct the library users. It also reveal that Ask a librarian, FAQ, library Blog, library Website, Text messaging were not used to instruct the users. The finding also shows that library instruction was effective for identification of books on the shelves (X = 3.78, SD = 416), access and retrieval of information materials in the library (X = 3.67, SD = 471), enable students to cite and reference books with ease (X = 3.11, SD = 874) and turned users into regular library users (X = 3.45, SD = 497). It however, shows that library instruction has no effect on students' academic excellence (X = 3.44, SD = 687). The findings however reveal some of the challenges facing library instruction including non-expository of the program (X = 2.78, SD = 785), inadequate time for library orientation (X = 3.00, SD = 815), non-utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) for library instruction (X = 2.78, SD = 787) and students' lack of interest in library instruction programs (X = 3.56, SD = 684). The study, therefore, concluded that library instruction is an effective means of educating users and creating awareness of available information resources in the library. Librarians should ensure that library instruction impact students' academic excellence while viable methods of engaging and instructing the users in making them effective users and life-long learners be encouraged and explored. In 2005, EBSCO introduced a comprehensive database for sociology that could be a competitor for Sociological Abstracts, SocINDEX/SocINDEX with Full Text. Library science quickly produced a product review, a few general comparative analyses of the two, and a few comparative analyses of the databases' utility for particular populations of researchers/students. The authors hope to add to this literature with an analysis of the databases' utility for graduate students in sociology completing their theses and dissertations. The citation checking variation of the checklist method was employed for four random samples of cited items, and the authors' sampling frame was theses and dissertations accepted at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during the 2000-2010 interval. The authors found that neither database provided particularly good coverage of the literature cited, that SocINDEX provided superior coverage of cited peer-reviewed journal articles, that neither database provided impressive coverage of other sorts of literature, and that SocINDEX's broader approach to indexing subjects of interest to sociologists could be beneficial to graduate students in sociology. The study examines the number of backlinks to the websites of libraries belonging to Central Universities of India. The study has presented seven categories of library webpages based on their features. The study was conducted in five rounds to get the primary data through four selected search engines. Analysis is presented for each search engine separately. Study concludes that index page/home page of library websites attracts more number of backlinks than any other webpages of library websites.
