The purpose of this paper is to present the contents of Satellite meeting IFLA “Transforming LIS education for professionals in a global information world: digital inclusion, social inclusion and lifelong learning”, held in August 30-31, 2019, at Vatican Library and Palazzo Cardinal Cesi in Rome. The authors pay attention to specific topics about LIS education (derived by globalization, widespread of ITC and changes connected with it): the standardization of curricula to improve the occupational mobility; the ethical implications of digitalization of ‘culturally sensitive’ item to promote the communication, the collaboration and the integration between communities; the introduction of LIS educations in university in order to encourage new classes and increase the dialog between institutions.
