MODERN architecture , *CASE studies - Abstract
Time acts as a fundamental variable of urban transformation. In fact, changing needs can make an architecture or a technological unit obsolete over time. Precisely, this unexpected deficiency in performance can no longer be interpreted as a limitation but rather as potential to update the architecture itself. This paper fits into this framework and investigates both the potential and limitations of architecture considered an upgradeable system in which time, and the need for changes, become a variable of transformation. By analysing a case study and possible updating strategies relative to a renewed demand framework, the paper underlines the potential that modern architecture offers in terms of updating. TRADITIONAL knowledge , *DEBATE , *PUBLIC libraries , *AMBIVALENCE , *INFORMATION dissemination , *PUBLIC relations , *TRUTHFULNESS & falsehood - Abstract
The paper takes as its focal point falsehood as an issue in the post-factual truth society. After reaffirming that the concept of truth represents a fundamental element for the very survival of democracy, and having specified its meaning (too often misrepresented), the paper discusses the impact and ambivalence of the Web as a place of production and dissemination of counterfactual information, highlighting how the loss of credibility of traditional knowledge validation authorities has deeper and remote roots. It supports the need and the possibility of opposing a drift indifferent to truth, understood as continuous research and as a public debate based on evidence and questions and not as dogma. Finally, it highlights a role that is not only possible, but already more than glimpsed by public libraries in relation to a problem that cannot be ignored, touching their very raison d'être. 105. LA PRIMA FASE DELL'OPERA POETICA DI VLADIMIR KAUČIČ - JEAN VODAINE.

- Abstract
This article presents the early poetic opus of Franco-Slovenian author Vladimir Kaucic -- Jean Vodaine. The period in question is from 1945 when he published his first book of poetry to 1955, when he started to work for Editions Caractères in Paris. This work enabled him to meet many famous contemporary artists (such as Tzara and Jakovski), and his views on art would evolve after this period. Vodaine was born in 1921 near the town of Tolmin. In his childhood his family moved to Lorraine, France, where he acquired primary education and started to make a living as labourer. Meanwhile, he was collaborating with local worker's cultural associations and started to write poetry, paint, and create graphics and typographies. The article presents the analysis of his first books of poetry and poems that were published in literary magazines of that time. The analysis shows that Vodaine's preferred themes of writing in that period were nature, love, Lorraine, the problems of the working class, and of living in the modern world. The quality of Vodaine's early poetry is found in his linguistic eloquence and inventive thematic combinations, such as workplace motifs and nature, which are often expressed with some irony. Although Vodaine's lexicon is beautiful, his early poetry is fairly repetitive and schematic, and we may notice the influence of Prévert and Verlaine. The last book of poetry analysed in this paper represents a turn in the artist's literary creation as he, for the first time, manifests his original poetic expression, which will evolve in the poetry of his mature artistic period. - Abstract
Exploring the incredible success and diffusion of the Nursing Madonna motif from an historical, anthropological and artistic point of view, this paper aims to investigate the political dynamics associated with the motif itself and the devotion related to it. The Nursing Madonna motif is a useful point of access to see which symbolic horizons, especially those linked to corporeity, are activated in the difficult relationship between the power élites and popular culture in establishing political legitimacy. This investigation aims at exploring this relationship in different socio-cultural contexts of the Mediterranean by enriching the analysis through a comparison between the post-Tridentine censorship on the motif and the revival of the theme in the Mughal empire between the 16th and 17th centuries. The paper aims to provide an overview of the 61. National congress of the Italian library association "Librarians, the most beautiful job in the world. Also in Italy?" (online, November 25-26, 2021). Numerous speakers from the professional sphere and the university context participated in the congress, many of whom belong to AIB commissions and observers. The most significant issues that emerged from the speeches were reported, but we are aware of the impossibility of returning their rich content. In the conclusions, a reflection is proposed on the need to address the critical issues of the profession and libraries through different perspectives, overcoming self-referentiality and thus reaching a rich and profound knowledge of our sector. In the first part the paper illustrates the results of an analysis of the Italian editorial production on LGBTQ+ issues, limited to non-fiction for adults published between 2016 and the first half of 2021. Subsequently, the analysis focuses on the representativeness of these publications within the collections of the library systems located in ten large Italian cities. A comparative study is carried out on various aspects: years of publication, publishers, DDC classes, Conspectus levels, usage data. Moreover, through interviews with librarians a qualitative survey is also conducted, to bring to light additional elements, including the reasons and criteria for the acquisition or the non-acquisition of LGBTQ+ titles. In conclusion, after a comparison with similar studies conducted in other geographical contexts, the author tries to understand whether cognitive biases are among the factors influencing the development of LGBTQ+ collections. Bringing out any bias is fundamental to make librarians more aware and to emphasize the professional ethics and the principles of plurality on which the concept of public library is based. This type of study also allows to obtain detailed information elements to be taken into account in projects aimed at implementing recommendation systems that exploit the potential of Artificial Intelligence and, in particular, of machine learning: it should not be forgotten, in fact, that algorithmic biases reflect real-world biases. temi e analisi [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The formal representation of cultural metadata has always been a challenge, considering the heterogeneity of cultural objects and especially when dealing with experts' interpretation over them. This paper presents an overview of the mythLOD dataset production as the Mythologiae digital collection revalorisation into linked open data format. The research aims then to explore Mythologiae data leveraging semantic web potentialities, focusing over the formal representation of experts' analysis when associating visual artworks (and their interpretations) to literary sources. The workflow of the project consisted of data model definition, data cleaning and entity linking, conversion (from tabular data to graph) and testing activity (domain experts review over competency questions and two designed on-purpose data visualizations). The result is the mythLOD platform, which present the dataset and the detailed documentation of the research. Additionally, the platform hosts the two data visualization spaces which have been implemented -- the online catalogue and the storytelling experiment over Aeneid -- as a user-friendly testing unit for the dataset and an additional tool for documenting the project and exploring the collection. - Abstract
The paper aims at exploring the relationship between commons, resistance strategies and cultural production in Catania through analysing different cases of occupation of spaces for (counter) cultural production and consumption, thus rejecting the commodification logics of the neoliberal "creative city". Resulting from fieldwork, in-depth interviews and document analysis, our research aims at evaluating the overlapping between artistic-cultural reasons and discursive practices inspired by the urban commons and participative democracy, as well as the relations with both institutional actors and the socio-economic and cultural milieu of the city. - Abstract
This paper aims to contribute to the reflection on clinical psychological intervention with a psychoanalytic orientation capable of intervening within the most different contexts, while maintaining its specificity. The goal of this contribution is to develop a thought on the psychoanalytic function within the juvenile court and in particular with respect to the role of the juvenile honorary judge. Through an exploration of the context of the juvenile court and the role of the juvenile honorary judge, we intend to build a hypothesis on the possibility, in a context crossed by an individualistic, prescriptive and factual culture, to reintegrate elements of subjectivity, relationship and context; the goal is to deal with the competence of families to manage the events of coexistence and to contain violence, which risks becoming exasperated within the culture of prescriptions. - Abstract
This paper proposes a critical reading of the notion of specific learning disorder (SLD), with a brief excursus of its history and the literature on the subject. Historically, the concept of SLD has the merit of being the foundation for the innovative law 170/10. However, from the outset, this law was incomplete, as it neglets all other special educational needs (SEN). Art. 3 of this law indicates the need to put into place preventive strategies to identify and help, through targeted educational interventions, children at risk of SLD before subjecting them to measurement of their neuro-cognitive characteristics. The preventive strategies outlined in the law replicate, in a reduced way, the strategies of so-called “RTI Method”, therefore they can be advantageously implemented through a more complete integration of the mentioned RTI Method into the school efforts to address SLD problems. This paper presents the first results of the research agreement signed by the Federico II University and CDP Immobiliare concerning reusing and recycling construction waste in the urban regeneration project. The research is aimed to develop a technical protocol for the ex-ante evaluation of the demolition operations, with a special focus on the criteria for picking the material samples to undergo chemical-physical analysis. The article is focused on the demolition process, implementing a BIM-based filing of the building system and aimed at a preliminary understanding of the material quantity, the material consistency and the state of conservation of the elements to be demolished. A tentative pre-characterisation, and an inventory of any contaminants present in the materials are also provided. In the form of discussion, further implications related the building characterisation and the planning of material flows with the reuse and recycle supply chains are provided as well. The circular economy applied to the urban context is linked to sustainability objectives focused on environmental performances overlooking socio-political implications, in order to achieve a circular balance within the neoliberal paradigm of business-nature-society in a continuous growth scenario. This paper discusses this criticality, articulating a counter perspective based on the debate of degrowth, circularity and technology through the analysis of three cases of socio-technical assemblages: Transition Towns; Repair Cafes; Community Gardens. The research individuates the effectiveness of urban practices in which the circularity is implemented beyond purely economic interactions or ecoefficiency parameters, defining the potentialities of a degrowing circular city based on inclusiveness, social justice and reciprocity. INDUSTRY 4.0 , *ENERGY consumption , *SMART cities , *CASE studies , *ENERGY industries , *NEUTRALITY - Abstract
The Green Deal places at the centre of its policies the need to act in order to achieve climate neutrality goals by 2050. In this context, the role of cities and, in particular, of already existing buildings is relevant. Although they are responsible for 40% of energy consumption, only 1% are involved in major restructuring processes. In the context of smart city strategies and to improve their performances, Europe proposes various approaches such as Positive Energy Districts and Industry 4.0. This paper analyses case studies and innovative European projects with the aim of identifying the most relevant strategic actions. Eventually, it presents a real case in the city of Bologna as a basepoint for the reflection proposed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Since the 1970s, in Europe the industrial decommissioning phenomenon has led to the generation of an obsolescent and widespread building stock, located in highly strategic areas. This paper, aiming to make abandoned industrial buildings re-enter the market, focused on the development of prefabricated housing modules, according to the nested-building renovation approach. The project started from the constraint's typological analysis (architectural, functional and structural) of 900 reinforced concrete industrial buildings in view of the intervention replicability. Finally, to validate the design and technological choices, the analysed system was applied to a real case study in Verona: the Greggi Warehouse (1960) in the "ex-Manifattura Tabacchi" factory area. The article presents the results of the research activity carried out within the framework of the European project H2020 REFLOW, which aims to build an integrated approach for the development of innovative participatory practices dedicated to urban circular metabolisms. As a result of the survey conducted on the application of collaborative models for the urban circular economy, it emerged that there is no shared operational strategy that can be adopted for the circular development of complex systems, such as cities. Based on this premise, this paper offers a new perspective on how to build and validate a transitional pathway for the development of circular cities through the adoption of a design-oriented approach that orchestrates different resources and capacities. This article is derived from a feasibility study for a single-story elevation at the Kent School of Architecture and Planning (KSAP) in the United Kingdom. This project embraced two fundamental principles of the circular economy: flexibility of interior spaces and Design for Disassembly (DfD). The goals were to reduce the risk of demolition and preserve the value of the building material to empower its later use. These principles formed the solution for the structural frame. For this paper, the engineering phase was carried out to improve the structural connections designed according to DfD principles and following generative design methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For years, the building sector has been marked by the progressive exploitation of raw materials and the growing production of waste. The product and process innovations, based on waste valorisation starting from their geographical location and identification, prefigure potential reductions of environmental impacts. This paper presents the methodology and findings of the mapping of waste from construction and manufacturing processes, carried out in Sardinia to identify possible scenarios of valorisation. The geographical location of waste production both in construction and manufacturing processes, along with their possible reuse, have allowed the definition of some supply chains which are able to process their own waste, according to industrial symbiosis scenarios. . Crisis contexts such as the MENA region allow us to envision effective scenarios of sustainable development based on local production systems supported by digital innovation. The constant exchange of know-how between the MENA area and the European continent represents a fundamental tool in which processes of technology transfer help to accelerate the transformation processes currently underway and make them more effective. This paper investigates the effectiveness of using local resources for producing building components by means of innovative technologies based on circular economy processes. The objective of this analysis is to evaluate the possibilities of transferring enabling technologies from the Italian context to that of MENA as a tool for economic reactivation directed towards circularity. PHENOLOGY , *SPECIES , *BIRD migration , *PLANT phenology - Abstract
Conceived by the National Ringing Centre ISPRA and MUSE (Trento, formerly MTSN), the Alps Project was launched in 1997 in order to understand the post-breeding migration strategies of birds across the Italian Alps. The project is realized thanks to the support offered by MUSE and several institutions at a local scale, not to mention the collaboration of over one hundred ringers. In more than twenty years, 40 stations located in sites of passage (alpine and pre-alpine passes) and stop-over (valley floors and slopes) have taken part in the project, leading to a dataset of 666,471 ringed individuals and 191 species (as to 2017). After a first exploratory phase (1997-2002), in which the migration was investigated in its many aspects of specific composition and spatial-temporal variation, the project has been restricted to a smaller number of stations since 2007. Those stations are characterized by working in a standardized and continuous way during the whole period (August-November) or during the migration period of the intra-Palearctic species (end of September-October). In this paper we describe the aims, protocols and organizational aspects of the project, with a special focus on monitoring trends and changes in the long-term phenology. This ongoing project (2021) is part of the ISPRA national ringing plan to monitor bird migration across the country. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the encyclical Laudato si' the strong call to recognize "the human root of the ecological crisis", namely the cause of the "awry way of understanding human life and action", focuses on "the dominant technocratic paradigm". With this paper I intend to point out the undue transformation of technology into domination and one-dimensionality, proposing to go to the Greek roots, from whose language the words 'technology' and 'technocracy' come. The senses by which the word 'techne' was ordinarily used, are indeed articulated starting from the awareness of the community dimension of life, in which man can overcome his own weaknesses and lacks, developing the potentialities of each one for the common good and the plurality of the ways of actualization, on condition of acquiring knowledge by learning-teaching. In the proposal to recover the Greek notion of techne, highlighting its plural, collective and didactic character, I also qualify it as 'Aristotelian', to emphasize two provisions, given by the teachers of the first philosophical schools, Plato and then Aristotle: knowledge is said to be acquired by techne provided that from those who are able 1) to give explanations and 2) to indicate the ultimate goal, where the concepts of true, good and beautiful converge in the dimension of sophia. FEMINIST theology , *INVISIBILITY , *THEOLOGY , *FEMINISTS - Abstract
The paper offers a picture of feminist theology from the perspective of its transmissibility, both in the context of mainstream theological knowledge and in the agora of the new generations. The persistent invisibility of these studies, now extremely vast, leads to investigate the mechanisms of the transmission of knowledge in the sacral context and the resistances encountered there. Although aimed at offering useful ideas for discussion rather than exhaustive data, the contribution cannot exempt itself from a synthetic reconstruction of the historical and geo-ecclesiastical contexts in which the TF (s) develop, the categories from which they are processed and the main acquisitions in the field biblical, historical and dogmatic. The conclusion highlights some issues (comparison with colleagues, relationship between academic contexts and practices, postfeminist inclusiveness as an advantage and as a risk), but also expresses the belief that the feminist theological approach is an important resource for the theology. The widespread use of social media in people's everyday life has set the basis for big changes in the relationships between individuals, public and private bodies on a global scale. With public administrations willing to adjust their identities to new tools for communication, archival organizations approached to social networks to connect with new users and enhance their heritage. This paper aims to define methods, specificities and limits of the Italian archival institutions' social media policies, opening up to a first comparison with other national strategies, especially with the French one. A special focus has been put on the role of social networks in March and April 2020, when Italian archives faced a two-month lockdown following the health emergency caused by the spread of COVID-19: moved away from the ordinary work, archivists and archival institutes were encouraged to start alternative forms of communication with their users, including a more effective social campaign. This paper addresses the question of the relationship between the diaita, that is, the psychophysical conditions related to nutrition, and the political regime that it generates in Plato's philosophy. It will be argued that the reasons that stimulate Plato's critique to the dietary nomos, that emerge in the V-IV BC centuries following the development of the culinary technique, are especially political reasons. Our purpose is to find the relationship between a food habit and a government's pattern. In order to attain the aim, the article is divided into the following parts: First, we argue about Plato's interest in foods and the effects that food has on individual and on political health; Then we examine the Plato's judgment about the new habits and their social influences; Finally, we analyse the relationship between diaita and politics in the Republic and Laws. SOCIAL role , *CULTURAL maintenance , *SOCIAL skills , *CULTURAL property , *LIBRARY administration , *LIBRARIANS - Abstract
The paper traces some professional choices that guided the management of Italian libraries over the last fifty years, focusing on the interpretation of their cultural role, also in relation to the progressive spreading of digital culture. Libraries, regardless of their functional typology, remain a constitutive part of Italy’s cultural heritage: it is therefore essential to find a synthesis between their nature of ‘cultural heritage’, their information function and their social function. In light of this common ground, it is therefore important to find a synthesis between libraries’ informative and social function. Today, libraries are in the most favorable position to weave relationships between people and institutions. Librarians can identify in this current context fertile ground to redefine their profession and place themselves at the service of an Italian civil and cultural revitalization. It is a question of giving libraries – intended as places of inclusiveness and gathering – a greater baggage of knowledge and culture to perform their widely recognized social role. By expanding their range of action, libraries remain social, cultural and information hubs capable of carrying out a renewed connective and participatory function. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper reflects on the future of libraries, moving from Disegnare il futuro della biblioteca: linee guida per la redazione dei piani strategici per le biblioteche pubbliche (i.e. Drawing library futures: guidelines for strategic planning in public libraries), the document issued in autumn 2020 by the National Commission for Public Libraries of the Italian Library Association. The pandemic crisis accelerated a series of social, economic and cultural phenomena; on the one hand, this highlighted the capacity of adaptability and response demonstrated by the cultural sector, most of all its ability to face the digital demand and other emerging needs; on the other hand, though, the situation highlighted the gaps and inefficiency of short-term approaches and visions, and revealed the infrastructural weakness, a certain fragility in the organizations and a lack of those skills needed to face the change. In this historical moment, strategic planning can represent an important advocacy opportunity for public libraries, as emerging goals are being agreed upon with stakeholders and in economic, human and planning resources are being negotiated with funders and policy makers. In this sense, the document can become the perfect tool at the right time, capable of fostering the overall growth of political awareness of the role that libraries can and must play in the new scenario; moreover, it also represents a compass to identify the necessary programmatic, technical, administrative, economic, organizational and cultural connections, which are prerequisites to start the transformation. The paper deals with two closely related issues: the legal deposit of cartographic materials in Italy and their census by the Bollettino delle pubblicazioni italiane ricevute per diritto di stampa (1886-1957) and the Bibliografia nazionale italiana (BNI, 1958). Although cartographic materials represent a heritage of extraordinary historical, artistic and cultural value, they have long been neglected by legal deposit regulations, and their census by the Bollettino and Bibliografia nazionale italiana was irregular for a long time, until it was completely abandoned in the 1960s. Moreover, only maps and atlases were required to be deposited and surveyed, while other types of cartographic resources such as globes, three-dimensional models and digital maps were never taken into account. The paper aims at presenting some reflections drawn from the analysis of the data extracted from two crowdfunding projects. The latter were started to financially support the publication of two catalogues: Incunaboli a Catania I: Biblioteche riunite “Civica e A. Ursino Recupero” (2018) and Incunaboli a Catania II: Biblioteca regionale universitaria (2021). Close attention is given to the strategies enacted to foster the valorization of two libraries and a portion of their bibliographic heritage within the framework of an ongoing research project; among its goals is serving as tool to promote participation in and sharing of libraries as common goods. Data analysis is conducted through the lens of cultural sociology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The world of publishing distribution has increasingly become an object of interest for both industrial production and the readers. The recent past showed that books must be selected carefully not only by bookshop managers for their buyers, but also by libraries for their users. Libraries themselves are examined in their relation with publishing distribution: the paper presents an initial analysis of the process enacted to pursue the goal that each individual title may fruitfully contribute to the growth of the whole library collection. The research considers only the acquisition of print monographs from some of the most important suppliers of both public and academic libraries; with these vendors it was possible to entertain a crucial and essential direct discussion. The paper proposes some considerations related to the contents of Chiara Faggiolani’s book Come un ministro per la cultura: Giulio Einaudi e le biblioteche nel sistema del libro (2020), dedicated to Giulio Einaudi’s intellectual and editorial personality, and focusing on the relationship between the ‘Dogliani project’ and the different environments of the Italian ‘book system’ of the early 1960s. The project, accomplished with the inauguration of the Luigi Einaudi Library in 1963, highlights the attempt to organically integrate architectural space, library collections and service management. What triggered this integration was Giulio Einaudi’s vision, shaped by his father’s passion for books and by the charisma and extraordinary intelligence of the members of the group called the ‘einaudiani’, who were the protagonists of the cultural season of a country, Italy, that was struggling to come to terms with massive cultural, economic, political and social transformations. PUBLIC libraries , *PUBLIC spaces , *LIBRARY public services , *SOCIAL space , *SOCIAL cohesion , *DIPLOMATIC & consular service , *REGIONAL differences - Abstract
After more than thirty years of immigration, Italian society is profoundly multicultural, but lacks social cohesion. This cohesion could be achieved through a stable and continuous intercultural dialogue within the population. To achieve this dialogue, libraries could assume a relevant role as they are public and friendly spaces open to everyone. Librarians could create safe social spaces to build equality into the relationships between different cultures. The paper discusses the results of a comparative analysis between six different institutions that have offered excellent services to foreign citizens in their area in the past decades: the Regional library “Bruno Salvadori” of Aosta, the Salaborsa library of Bologna, the City libraries of Modena, the Lazzerini library of Prato and the Polo regionale di documentazione interculturale della Regione Toscana, the Intercultural service of Public libraries of Rome, the City libraries of Turin. In each one of these six institutions, librarians brought about a fundamental change. Instead of offering library services dedicated exclusively to foreign citizens, they managed to create library services designed for every citizen, including those with different languages and different cultural backgrounds. From this comparative analysis it is possible to extrapolate eight guidelines to create an intercultural library. This new intercultural library, by giving relevance to different cultures, must be a mirror of Italy’s multicultural society and should shape tomorrow’s society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Unlike many spiritual authors of his time or earlier times, Ignatius of Loyola prefers to use the term "enemy" or, even, the expression "enemy of human nature", when speaking of the devil. We investigate such expressions in this paper: we analyse their occurrence in Ignatian writings and explore the sources from which Ignatius may have drawn. The difficulty in tracing their origins leads us to investigate separately the meaning of "enemy" and "human nature" in Ignatius' semantic/cultural horizon, and then to combine these terms and formulate some hypotheses about the meaning Ignatius gave to the expressions under investigation. What emerges is a vision of an eschatological combat taking place in the heart of every man and woman, in which what is at stake is precisely the interpretation of human nature and the full accomplishment of man in God. This paper ponders whether the notion of privacy should be seen as not biblical or not Catholic. Several Catholic encyclopedias were skimmed; the increasing interest in this topic is evident, although the prevailing point of view belongs not to theology or biblical studies, but to (ecclesiastical) law. In the following section of the paper, Czech words for privacy/private (soukromí/soukromý) in the Czech Ecumenical Translation and in the most notable older translation (Bible kralická) are examined and compared with their counterparts in Latin and Greek Bibles. The Old-Czech word súkromí with its strictly local sense is mentioned as well. To sum up: The examined words are plausibly used in the translation; the notion belongs to the biblical world and is worth of further research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The paper will present OPERAS, a comprehensive infrastructure aimed at providing a pan-European infrastructure to rethink and reshape publishing, discovery and dissemination addressing the specificity and the critical issues of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH). The paper will try to set the scene examining the status of scholarly communication, the developments of Open Access and Open Science, and the specific demands for SSH. A second part will outline how OPERAS meets these needs, taking care of all the steps of the scholarly communication cycle. OPERAS unique approach is to unite researchers, libraries and publishers in a common effort, in order to take back control over scholarly communication. Not merging nor replacing, but nurturing existing realities, OPERAS provides innovative services to bring SSH into Open Science. OPERAS is designed to elaborate effective and scalable long-term strategies for the future development of the digital infrastructure and community building needed to innovate scholarly communication in the SSH. OPERAS pervading idea of science as communication holds an immense potential for an inspiring model of Open Science with direct societal impact, based on continuous communication. - Abstract
The Urban Innovative Actions initiative of the European Union supports pilot projects aimed at identifying and testing new solutions related to sustainable urban development. The cities that responded to the call for proposals had the opportunity to experiment with creative ideas, which are not funded by traditional sources, and to turn them into prototypes. The first UIA call was part of the process of definition of the European Urban Agenda. With a view to consolidating collective intelligence, this paper proposes a critical analysis of the 18 projects that won the first UIA Call. The overall objective is to highlight how Urban Authorities interpreted the definition of innovation through the various projects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Once reactivated and integrated within urban networks and services, cultural heritage can become a driving force for Social Innovation, a place of culture, which is given back to collective life and returns to be considered a common good. Among the urban regeneration processes - which identify the city as the field of action of Social Innovation - the reflection focuses on the reuse of abandoned cultural assets, present in various small and medium-sized realities with high artistic and cultural value. In this context, the research aims at providing theoretical premises and meta-design prefigurations, with reference to European addresses and good practices. In closing, the paper illustrates the outcome of an experimentation on the Italian territory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The renewed interest for under used sites of historical city centres is addressing a change in design paradigms on existing buildings involving local communities in the process from the very beginning. The paper reports a recent cooperation, named "Anteprima Lab", between the Department of Architecture (DA) of University of Bologna, the City of Bologna and Urban Center. The action is intended as an enabler of initiatives aimed at enhancing those places assumed as common goods by local communities. The pilot defined the functional and spatial features of an innovative participated environment that follows the socio-political trends characterizing the modern age of Bologna. Healthcare facilities are complex buildings because of their articulation, organization and technology equipment. Designing a hospital needs a multidisciplinary approach in order to organize efficiently the building during the time and the project needs to be able to answer to the rapid changes of the research innovations and demands of the hospital staff, especially in emergency units. In this direction, flexibility becomes the key point for all the changes due to the progress of medical and technological knowledge. The paper analyzes some useful strategies for flexible hospital project on managerial, planning, engineering plants, structural and technological issues through a matrix of analysis studied by the authors of the paper. The continuous progress of digital technologies is leading to a methodological redefinition in archaeology: how to use the new digital tools and software in the field - often low cost - to obtain functional elements for the historical reconstruction of a landscape, site, or building, without invasive investigations. This moment for the archaeological matter could be defined as the era of the "Digital Archeology" for the progress of the new technologies that now it is necessary to connect to the traditional methods of analysis. In recent years, the UAV has become an indispensable instrument for territorial research in archeology, allowing us to create a georeferenced photogrammetric product and 3D digital models in scale. This paper will illustrate the drone use in the castle of Montefalco in Sabina (RM) during the field survey activities promoted by Roma Tre University. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The paper uses reporting methodology to discuss the psychological function in Mental Health Centers (MHC). It is proposed that psychology works to promote organizational competence, in order to develop the service towards sustainable and functional directions. The discussed subject takes place within an internship experience through which the context of the MHC and the primary issues that it encounter in relation to the demand of citizens are known. The social mandate of the Mental Health Centers and the structuring of psychology within them are reconstructed, to contextualize the objectives pursued in a psychotherapeutic intervention with a person diagnosed in the frame of mood disorder. The difference between a methodology that aims at the cure-correction of the deficit and one that aims to a methodological learning for the development of the individual-context relationship is deepened. The proposal is that intervening in the relationship between the individual and the context can treat problematic aspects that can be overlooked, especially if we look at psychotherapy as an acontextual technique that intervenes to cure the individual. - Abstract
The paper presents two psychological interventions that took place at school for two pupils with Special Educational Needs. The psychological-clinical function of two psychologists in the role of Primary School teacher and High School teacher of Philosophy and Human Sciences respectively is reported. The authors start from the identification of some Special Educational Needs (SEN) by the school to develop an intervention plan that goes beyond the limits of the application of dispensatory measures and the use of compensatory tools usually used with students with socio-economic, linguistic, and cultural disadvantages (so-called “other SEN”). These students, who do not fall into either the diagnostic category of disability or that of specific learning disorders, often present themselves with problems that compromise the emotional and socialization processes underlying learning. The first case deals with the process of inclusion and acquisition of the Italian language by a foreign girl through the activation of training resources within the school and the educating community. The second case, on the other hand, concerns a student close to maturity suffering from school phobia for which a home teaching service is activated through which she is able to mitigate persecutory fantasies concerning training and evaluation and to finish school. Both cases describe in detail the construction of a clinical setting necessary for the reorganization of the objectives of the school in relation to unconventional students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is Ito examine the case of the castle cabeça de terra of Refojos. On this castle there are very few written documents, dated between XI and XIII centuries and labile and uncertain material evidence. Due to the scarcity of sources, a comparative analysis will be carried out based on the castles cabeça de terra provided with more documentation, demonstrating how the multidisciplinary and comparative approach can be an appropriate methodology for the study and understanding of medieval defensive elements.
