Cosa è successo all’Italia della mobilità negli ultimi 17 anni? L’unica Italia che cresce è quella che mette radici all’estero, lasciando il Paese nella morsa della denatalità e dello spopolamento. Gli anni della pandemia non hanno fermato le partenze. Oggi dopo quasi tre anni di emergenza sanitaria e con una guerra in corso da mesi nel cuore dell’Europa, i connazionali hanno fermato le loro partenze oltre confine? Hanno cambiato le loro traiettorie? A partire dalla nuova edizione del Rapporto Italiani nel Mondo (2022) della Fondazione Migrantes e ripercorrendo la storia di questo progetto culturale si descriverà il fenomeno di un’Italia costantemente in mobilità ma con caratteristiche altrettanto costantemente mutevoli. L’analisi porrà l’accento sia sulle caratteristiche della mobilità di oggi che richiamano l’emigrazione del passato, sia su novità inaspettate. The Italy of mobility: ancient confirmations and unexpected discoveries What happened to Italian mobility in the last 17 years? The only Italians who have been growing are those who put down roots abroad, leaving their country in the grasp of decreased birth-rate and depopulation. The pandemic emergency has not stopped the departures. Today, after almost three years of healthcare emergency and with a one-year war in the heart of Europe, did our fellow countrymen stop the departures abroad? Did they change their destinations? Starting with the new edition of the Rapporto Italiani nel Mondo (2022) of Fondazione Migrantes and travelling again through the history of this cultural project, this article describes the phenomenon of our Italy experiencing an endless mobility with continuous changing characteristics. The analysis will focus both on today's mobility, which recalls the emigration of the past, and on some unexpected news.

La relazione di supporto psicologico interviene nell’influenzare la capacità genitoriale, sul modo in cui i genitori giudicano e valutano l’evento disabilità e le situazioni a esso connesse. Infatti il supporto è correlato alla percezione che i genitori hanno dei limiti dei loro figli, delle limitazioni sociali e dei problemi di comportamento. L’obiettivo è valorizzare i vissuti delle famiglie stesse a partire da una rivalutazione del valore delle loro narrazioni al fine di coinvolgere le famiglie in un processo di consapevolezza. L’ipotesi che ha guidato questo lavoro è il credere che l’aiuto alle famiglie sia indispensabile per consentire ai ragazzi con autismo un futuro in cui loro siano concretamente protagonisti della loro vita e partecipi alla vita sociale. Sono stati previsti prima tre incontri individuali e successivamente di gruppo. Il modello utilizzato è quello gestaltico integrato, in particolare si è focalizzata l’attenzione sul ciclo di contatto e ai meccanismi di interruzione del suo fluire, con lo scopo di coinvolgerle concretamente dall’inizio alla fine dei processi. Il lavoro ha evidenziato che è possibile ridurre le fonti di stress, affinare le capacità di valutazione e di coping, rinforzare la rete di supporti sociali extrafamiliari, migliorare le relazioni all’interno della famiglia, migliorare i rapporti fra genitori e professionisti. L’aspetto innovativo è aver posto un’attenzione particolare ai genitori all’interno della teoria del campo.

Since the 1990s, in Italy, the number of students involved in migration processes has been increasing. For this reason, the Italian education system has pointed towards integration and intercultural education. The migratory phenomenon is also relevant in Sicily, in the regions of Sambuca di Sicilia and Santa Margherita de Belize. The multiculturalism of the region and some educational problems found make an important investigation in this area, addressing not only school dynamics but also social and family. In this sense, my research focuses on these aspects, with special emphasis on family, social and institutional conditions that facilitate or hinder school integration and the strategies adopted by adolescents who participate in migration processes to integrate into the educational system of the region. Another factor that I will address will be the intercultural pedagogy applied by the education system. I will try to analyze what measures it establishes and what scope it has among the target population. Finally, I will present a series of proposals for an intercultural pedagogy more adapted to the analyzed reality. The research has been carried out through the use of qualitative methods of inquiry, mainly the semi-structured interview, applied to foreign and native students, as well as to foreign fathers or mothers. The analysis of these interviews and the current regulations regarding interculturality in the educational system, has been carried out through the analysis of content and discourse.

I shall discuss the relationship between the interventionist theory of causation and free action. Interventionist accounts of causation define causation on the basis of “intervention”. These theories can be reductive, if they explain causes on the basis of free human interventions, or non-reductive, if they consider causes and interventions as two inter-defined concepts, where interventions are regarded as explicitly not human. I will show that the dilemma between reductive and non-reductive interventionist theories of causality can be overcome in favour of reductive accounts, with regard to what causation is in an anthropological sense, and with regard to the causal explanation of phenomena. Non-reductive accounts, explaining causes based on interventions and defining interventions as special causes (without any reference to human actions) create a dangerous explanatory circularity between cause and intervention and are not able to give a general and explanatory idea of causation. Reductive interventionist theories, by contrast, do not suffer from this circularity.

En este ensayo analizamos conjuntamente los temas del Doble, del fantasma y de la maternidad en Los ingrávidos (2011), de Valeria Luiselli, porque tal como leemos la novela estos funcionan como vasos comunicantes recorridos por los mismos motivos: un trastorno del cuerpo y una dispersión de la personalidad. Después de examinar la forma en que la autora se apropia de las figuras literarias del Doble y del fantasma nos centramos en sus enlaces e intersecciones con la experiencia materna de la narradora-protagonista, cuyas fronteras corporales se fluidifican y que aparece simbólicamente dividida entre pasado y presente, trabajo y cuidado de los hijos, vida personal y responsabilidades maternas.

Nauru is a small limestone island in the Pacific region where, as in many small islands in the world, the population heavilyrely upon groundwater as primary freshwater resource, in conjunction with rainwater and desalinated water.The Nauru project started in 2010 and led by Politecnico di Milano (http://nauru.como.polimi.it/), consisted on the hydrogeological characterization of the northern part of the island and the implementation of 3 numerical models for: (1) understanding the mechanisms governing groundwater flow and accumulation, (2) assess the adequate sustainable fresh groundwater exploitation in order to prevent saltwater upconing occurrences in the area more suitable for groundwater extraction and (3) to simulate future scenarios based on climate changes and population growth.

Wittgenstein’s later philosophy addresses the subject of connection between the psychic life of the individual and social context, represented by language games which are played within a form of life. Sensations and passions are part of the psychic life of the individual; far from being hidden psychological objects of a private Cartesian, they are inseparable from their social redefinition. In fact, they become visible in the context of the game. Wittgenstein argues that there is a transformation of subjective psychic life by learning language games. The psychic life of the individual is then re-organized by learning a socially defined, characteristic behaviour pattern. However, the learning process of the games is complex and non-deterministic, in that it oscillates between degrees of acceptance and degrees of negation of language game rules. Through this oscillation between acceptance and denial of the game rules, it is possible to develop processes which lead to unpredictable changes in the game and in forms of life.

The aim of this study was to determine heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn) organochlorine pesticides (POCs) and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) in some samples (heart, kidney, liver, lung, muscle tissue and spleen) of wild boars (utilized as “bioindicator”) from various areas from Calabria. Quantitative determination of POCs and PCBs were carried out using GC-ECD and confirmed with GC-MS. The concentrations of heavy metals were determined by a Varian Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy instrument. Our data have shown low residual levels of OCs, heavy metals and the absence of PCBs in all samples analyzed and therefore the boar meat products are not dangerous for the consumer. Moreover, results obtained deserve particular attention not only for their significance but especially because they were recorded in Calabria, a region a low risk of environmental pollution due to the shortage of industries and the traditional agricultural activity.

We present some research methods in Paleozoology proposed by Vincenzo Fusco, Professor of Palethnology at the Milan University. He published a complete study on faunal researches in 1981 in the Journal of the Center of Prehistorical and Archaeological studies of Varese. He focused his attention on the faunal remains from Holocene sites. His methodological approach was aimed to reconstruct the history of human-animal interaction in the prehistoric times. Until the so-called sanitary reform (1978), which introduced a Beveridge system, in Italy existed a peculiar kind of general practitioner, paid by municipalities, who ensured healthcare to those not covered by social insurance. In small towns those physicians also carried out the function of Health Officers, performing Public Health duties. We had the possibility to study the very large archive of one of them, doctor Sgandurra from Farindola, a village in the Abruzzi Region (central Italy): in the paper we briefly analyse six public health acts that he issued in the first half of the 1950s. The international debate on the issue of human remains in museums and on the ethical issues related to their exhibition stimulates reflection on the Italian anatomical collections and on their preparations. A definition of human remains or of anatomical preparation does not exist in the Italian legislation. The anatomical specimens in museums are protected by the laws of Cultural Heritage as part of public collections, but their status is not well defined. By their nature of human material they would in fact be considered as a special category of Cultural Heritage. Because they are part of a cadaver they can be regarded as res nullius, but since treated with special techniques they could also change their meaning and being considered a species nova. Finally, it reflects on the possibility of creating a museum in Italy composed by new anatomical preparations. The article outline the contours of a museological issue that deserves to be investigated in order to better identify the anatomical preparations and their management in museums. Introduction: Heart failure (HF) is a main issue of modern healthcare system. Patient affected are continuously growing in number and age; therefore, an integrated management between different parts of healthcare system is crucial to optimize outcome and sustainability. So far, little is known about clinical pathways of HF patients in Sicily., Methods: On initiative of the Regional HF Group of the Italian Association of Hospital Cardiologists (ANMCO), we decided to census all the Cardiology Unit of Sicily. A simple questionnaire elaborated by the group and exploring clinical and organizational matters of HF was sent to the Units. The answer arrived on a voluntary basis., Results: 41/46 Units sent back the filled questionnaire. Five typologies of units were represented, based on complexity [1. Outpatient units; 2. Units without Intensive Care Unit (ICU); 3. Units with ICU; 4. Units with ICU and Cath Lab; 5. Units with ICU, Cath lab and Cardiac Surgery). A dedicated HF unit is present only in half centers, but it is formally recognized solely in 22% of Units. These Units have scarce dedicated staff and activity is predominantly based on personal initiative. Diagnostic and therapeutic tools are used appropriately in most of them, even though congestion is judged mainly through physical exam and echocardiography. Differently from the indications of the guidelines, post discharge titration of therapy lacks in almost 30% of centers., Discussion and Conclusions: In Sicily, HF is managed on a plan mainly based on personal initiative. The quality is sufficiently good but a more appropriate and structured organization in particular of the follow-up seems a necessary and improvable requirement in view of quality measurers and economic sustainability of health care.
