The Authors report the results of the researches made in their Hospital, about the bacteriological control of some departments and services, and of the staff that works there. After pointing out the scanty presence of pathogeneus germs in their hospitalier place, they augur a constant and repeated prophylactic sanitary control, whether of the structures, or the hospitalier staff, to avoid the possibility of diffusion of these germs in persons, already predisposed, since suffering from the most various diseases.

We carried out a qualitative and quantitative bacteriological research into the conjunctives of 220 subjects in good health mostly women (180) exempt from recent or previous eyes diseases. In order to gather conjunctival bacteria we employed with a few variations Hadley's et al. (1973 [12]) method. Among the calculated bacterial flora we found as the most numerous ones Staphylococcus epidermidis (mean valor 1960/ml), then Streptococci (480/ml), Micrococci (465/ml), Diphteroides (360/ml), Enterococci (77/ml) and numerous (700/ml) Gram-positives Cocci like Sarcina, Micrococcus tetragenes, Diplococcus, and very rarely bacterial genera Gram-negatives or Iphomycetes, also numerically inferior as regards the researches of other Authors, because owen study is carried by into eyes exempt from diseases.

In this paper we report and make short comments on data concerning 237 strains of Staphylococci isolated from 8820 samples of various pathologic material we tested when normal working in the Laboratory of our pediatric Institute. We noticed that 34.1% of cases were St. epidermidis or St. saprophyticus and we think that the frequency of such a results is related to the special conditions of subjects, all children or newborn children, so that also so called saprophytic Staphylococci may have etiological meaning.
