People who suffer from traumatic brain injury (TBI) are frequently affected by pragmatic disorder (PD), among other communicative impairments. While largely neglected in terms of rehabilitation strategies, the skills impaired by PD play a fundamental role in the quality of life of people who suffer from TBI. PD uniquely impacts a person’s cognitive and interpersonal abilities, including those from their pre-morbid history. The aim of this work is to propose a theoretical framework, based on a dialogue between neuropsychology and phenomenology, that may provide a useful paradigm in approaches to rehabilitation in PD. Instead of fragmenting this disorder into a list of symptoms, we address it as a consequence of a non-historical alteration of “ipseity” in connection with the concept of “embodiment”. In conclusion, we suggest an intervention for this neuropsychopathology.

On October 29, 2019, the Vaia storm hits the North-Eastern regions of Italy by wind gusts exceeding 200 km h-1. The forests in these regions have been seriously damaged. This contribution illustrates the methodology adopted in the emergency phase to estimate forest damages caused by Vaia storm, both in terms of damaged forest areas and growing stock volume of fallen trees. 494 Municipalities registered forest damages caused by Vaia, destroyed or intensely damaged forest stands amounted to about 42.500 ha, spread in Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy and, only marginally, Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta. The growing stock volume of fallen trees was about 8.5 millions m3.

Das Manuskript eines unveröffentlichten Aufsatzes von Friedrich Münzer (1868–1942) ist jüngst von T. Corey Brennan im Nachlass von Ernst Badian (1925–2011) entdeckt worden. Der Aufsatz, in welchem Münzer sich mit A. Postumius Albinus, dem Konsul von 151 v. Chr. und Annalisten, und dessen Verhältnis zu Polybios befasste, wurde im Winter 1938–1939 auf Einladung von Ronald Syme (1903–1989) abgefasst und ihm zur Veröffentlichung im Journal of Roman Studies geschickt. Mit vorliegendem Beitrag wird dieser letzte bekannte Aufsatz Münzers endlich herausgegeben; er ist mit einer Einleitung über die Geschichte des Manuskripts und die Editionskriterien sowie mit einem Nachtrag zu den von Münzer berührten oder behandelten Hauptthemen versehen. The manuscript of a hitherto unpublished paper by Friedrich Münzer (1868–1942) has recently been discovered by T. Corey Brennan in the Nachlass of Ernst Badian (1925–2011). Written in Winter 1938–1939 on the invitation of Ronald Syme (1903–1989), and sent to him for publication in the Journal of Roman Studies, the article focuses on A. Postumius Albinus, the consul of 151 bce and annalist, and his relationship with Polybius. The text of Münzer’s paper, which is his last known scholarly work, is here preceded by an intro­ductory note on the history of the manuscript and the editorial criteria, and includes an addendum on some of the key historical issues discussed by Münzer.

O artigo discute as formas de trabalho forçado e degradante no setor da marinha mercante internacional no século XXI, elaborando estimativas sobre o número e nacionalidade dos marinheiros sujeitos a estas formas de coerção. Os traços distintivos do trabalho maritimo são contrários daqueles característicos de grande parte do trabalho forçado em terra: de fato, o trabalho marítimo é estratégico, produtivo, altamente regulamentado pelos Estados e organizações internacionais, apresenta altissima intensidade de capital, elevados salários e uma força de trabalho qualificada e internacionalizada - tanto que a OIT nunca mencionou os marinheiros nas suas estimativas do trabalho forçado e que até hoje existe somente uma monografia, publicada em 2007 pelo autor deste artigo, discutindo sistematicamente do assunto e elaborando as relativas estimativas. No artigo, são descritas as principais formas de trabalho forçado no mar no início do século XXI, atualizando e especificando as estimativas apresentadas em 2007. Entre outras fontes, são analisados os relatórios anuais do Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (CEACR) da OIT, que monitaram a conformidade dos códigos de navegação dos Países que assinaram a Convenção OIT n. 105, de 1957 sobre o trabalho forçado. Desde que a OIT não considera nas suas estimativas do trabalho forçado nem os casos denunciados pelo mesmo CEACR, o artigo, a partir de uma possivel generalizaçao dos métodos elaborados pelo trabalho no mar e da sua aplicação para o trabalho forçado em terra, avança algumas críticas e revisões das estimativas do trabalho forçado no mundo produzidas pela OIT.

O tema do artigo é o fundamento da modernidade e seu projeto civilizatório expandido ao mundo pela colonização e pela globalização. O objetivo central é analisar como o fundamento moderno fundou um modelo de civilização por meio de revoluções e como entrou em crise. Por que as crises do fundamento moderno e de seu projeto civilizatório estão sendo interpretadas apenas no sentido neoliberal reformista? Não há outros caminhos? O desafio de nossa época é interpretar a crise do fundamento moderno denunciando sua lógica unitária, universal e normativa e propor alternativas inclusivas. O referencial teórico é a hermenêutica filosófica e a metodologia é a fenomenologia hermenêutica. A principal conclusão é a de que o projeto moderno desembocou numa civilização técnica, na qual organiza tecnicamente (toyotismo) o trabalho, o consumo e a cidade, esquecendo de suas outras promessas de liberdade e de felicidade. Todas as reformas neoliberais trabalhistas, previdenciárias, da saúde, consumeristas e urbanas indicam o predomínio da civilização técnica.

Around the year 108 B.C., the triumvir monetalis M. Herennius issued denarii which bore the portrait of Pietas on the obverse and one of the Catanean brothers carrying his parent on the reverse. This article aims to demonstrate that previous interpretations of these types as narrow allusions to the history of the gens are fallacious. Accordingly, new arguments are provided in order to give value to the political-ideological context of the last decades of the II century B.C.: in these years, pietas emerged alongside libertas as a fundamental value of the popularis ideological construct. This tradition was inspired by the oratorical and literary self-representation of Gaius Gracchus, that made his pietas erga fratrem and the pious portrayal of the family an important pillar of his legitimiz ing agenda. The political heirs of the Gracchi, such as C. Memmius and L. Apuleius Saturninus, continued to claim vengeance for the killed brothers and to blame the behaviour of the optimates – so that pietas remained a profitable slogan of the popularis political tradition. In this respect, Aetna’s eruptions in the Gracchan period and their explanation as prodigia formed an ideal humus for actualising the type of the Catanean brothers as catalyzing reference to the pietas popularis.

O presente artigo analisa a questão gerada em decorrência dos incentivos fiscais dados por parte dos Estados que causam a chamada guerra fiscal. Aborda a possível lesão à livre concorrência protegida constitucionalmente, bem como a atuação do CADE - Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica em prol da manutenção da concorrência no mercado. Para tanto, trata do conceito da “guerra fiscal” e da a análise das pendências, judiciais e legislativas, existentes acerca do tema. Por outro lado, destaca também à efetiva atuação do CADE diante das concessões dos benefícios fiscais, bem como as possibilidades dispostas legalmente para que o referido Conselho atue visando à manutenção da Concorrência. Diante deste panorama, discute-se a possibilidade de intervenção do CADE, analisando e julgando os atos que, em razão da concessão de incentivos fiscais pelos membros da federação, possam lesionar a livre concorrência.

The remaining fragments of this inscription, which constitute a translation from Latin to the Greek north-west koine, retain some valuable terms of the treaty which Rome concluded with the Aetolian League in 212/211 BC, with the purpose of forming an alliance against the Macedonian king, Philip V. This epigraphic text is a fundamental source, not only to obtain an accurate analysis of the diplomatic and military events of the so-called First Macedonian War, but also to understand the complicated development of the political and military relations between Romans and Greeks (in particular Aetolians), especially in the period which goes from the Hannibalic war to the coming of Rome in the Hellenistic world.

Elfriede Gerstl, die bekannteste der unbekannten Autorinnen der österreichischen Literatur, hat ein Leben lang ihre literarische Stimme am Rand der Wiener Avantgarde-Szene erprobt. In Gerstls Werk verbinden sich existenzielle Unsicherheit, ironische Grundhaltung und souveräne Sprachkunst mit einem hohen emotionalen Gehalt des gesprochenen Wortes. Ihre Gedichte und Rezitationen sind ein wertvoller Fund für die nicht leichte Aufgabe, italienischen Lernenden des Deutschen die Grundlagen der lautlichen Realisierungen und der Satzintonation nahe zu bringen. Elfriede Gerstl can be truly considered a ‘minor’ Austrian poet who spent a lifelong search for her own literary voice at the margins of the turmoil of the literary avant-garde in postwar Vienna. Existential insecurity, irony and a superb command of the German language come together with a highly emotional way of speaking. Elfriede Gerstl’s poems and the recordings of her poems can be successfully used in teaching pronunciation and intonation to Italian learners of German.

It is generally assumed that the tragic becomes a philosophical theory at the end of the eighteenth century, when Schelling and Hegel consider a genre (the tragedy) and draw from it a philosophical thought (the tragic). Before then, writes Szondi, there was no theory of the tragic, but only a poetics of the tragedy. I do not wish to criticize this assumption but rather to show that, before the philosophy of the tragic, there was an idea of the tragic (though fragmented and non systematic) that influenced and prepared its theory. In this paper, I will study its origins and its development through the analysis of the early modern uses of the words tragedy and tragic.

L'articolo offre una panoramica sulla competenza visuale, così come elaborata dall'ACRL (Association of College and Research Libraries), e si sofferma sulle affinità tra competenze informative e competenze visuali; sul ruolo del bibliotecario accademico nelle università americane per quel che riguarda l’insegnamento delle competenze visuali; e sul potenziale ruolo dei fumetti nella trasmissione di tali competenze.

Este artigo tem como objetivo abordar os procedimentos teórico-metodológicos, bem como os resultados desta pesquisa referentes à descrição do atual estágio da língua falada entre os habitantes descendentes de imigrantes ucranianos em um distrito paranaense, localizado ao sul do Estado. Este estudo foi norteado pelos princípios teóricos da sociolinguística, particularmente os que se referem a fenômenos decorrentes do contato linguístico, considerando-se, no caso, o contato entre falantes do português local e a variante ucraína trazida pelos primeiros povoadores eslavos, no final do século XlX. Para tal, investigamos a mudança lingüística em tempo real e tempo aparente.

This paper aims at analysing the process of regionalisation, i.e. the formation of large geographical ensembles or macroregions. Inside these macroregions, the international trade tends to increase faster than at the global level. What are the most relevant indicators to determinate their geographical limits? In order to answer this question, the paper proposes the analysis of the commercial relations between European Union and Russia until 2004. Is Russia involved in the regionalisation process? Does it progressively enter the economic region dominated by the European Union? The first part of the paper shows that the supposed process of regionalisation must be qualified, as far as the relation between Russia and EU are concerned. Russia is getting more and more important in the external trade of EU, but the contrary is not true. The second part is based on the analysis of another indicator: the coefficient of bilateral trade. It was invented and perfected by economists of the CEPII (Gaulier, 1998). It allows to measure trade proximity between partners by comparing observed trade flows between them to their theoretical volume. In other terms, it shows the real intensity of trade between countries by eliminating the bias related to size effects (economic weight). The evolution of this coefficient between Russia and all its European partners (Western Europe, CEE countries, CIS members) is systematically analysed since 1994 until 2004. The last part of the paper is focused on the explanations of the geographical distribution of the coefficient and of its evolution since 1994. It is then based on a model which proposes three explanatory variables: kilometric distance between partners, the location in the European political and economic space (does the partner belong to Western Europe, to Central and Eastern Europe or to the former USSR) and the number of political frontiers between partners. The second variable shows the highest degree of correlation with the coefficient of bilateral trade. That means that the economic space inherited from the cold war period has not totally disappeared yet. The limits between former USSR, former popular democracies and former Western Europe do not inhibit trade relations between Russia and its non CIS partners, but they still keep them under their theoretical level.
