In the past, the information retrieval system for science area was only for expert searchers. But nowadays, internet environment was got ready, there are many systems for the end users. But it is necessary that search/information charges educate them to use it precisely. So I, as Ajinomoto Co., Inc. Intellectual Property Department, began a setup the information retrieval classes for researchers with librarian and others. Among the many searchers, it is said "the decisive factor of patent search is experience and know-how", "search technique belongs to the person" and "knowledge that difficult to systematically transfer is truly essential part of one's know-how". However, searcher education is coming to the change term with facing to the spread of patent search operated by end users themselves; consequently, the method of search skill education should be changed to "instruction by a search manual".
