宇宙科学研究所の小規模プロジェクトの一環として、2015年2月にインドネシア共和国パプア州ビアク島において小型のクライオジェニックサンプラーを搭載したポリエチレン気球による成層圏大気採集実験を計4回実施し、高度17 kmから29 kmまで計8つの異なる高度において大気を採集した。サンプリング終了後のサンプラー・ゴンドラはパラシュートで海上に着水し、それらはすべて船舶により無事回収された。採集した大気サンプルの圧力測定から、8高度のうちの7高度において成層圏大気試料が正常に採集されていることがわかった。, Balloon-borne cryogenic air sampling experiments were carried out at Biak island, Papua, Indonesia in February 2015 as a part of small-size project of ISAS / JAXA. Four samplers were launched using four plastic balloons to collect stratospheric air at eight different altitudes. After air sampling, the samplers parachuted down to the sea and all of them were successfully recovered by using a ship.
