The tolerance of edible plants against low atmospheric pressure has been examined. With continuous exposure to low atmospheric pressure for several days, shoot and root growth was clearly confirmed. Furthermore, the partial pressure of oxygen had increased during the light period, and the partial pressure of carbon dioxide had increased during the dark period. These results insist that plants can subsequently have tolerance against low atmospheric pressure and enable to perform photosynthesis.
