Abstract In the present paper, we reported the luminescence properties of BiOCl:Dy(3+) and BiOCl:Dy(3+), Li+ phosphor synthesized by conventional solid state method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and excitation and emission spectroscopy were used to characterize the samples. Results show that pure tetragonal BiOCl:Dy(3+) crystals can be synthesized successfully at 500 °C, and Li+ ion dopant improves the crystallinity of samples furtherly. Under near UV light excitation, the samples,give the characteristic luminescence of Dy(3+) ions located at 478 (blue) and 574 nm (yellow), which show a low yellow-to-blue intensity ratio (Y/B) of Dy(3+) emission and white light emission. Moreover, codoping of Li+ ion can realize the enhancement of emission intensity and the adjustment of emission color. The characteristics of BiOCl:Dy(3+) phosphor, low temperature preparation, good near ultraviolet excitation and white light emission make it to a promising near-ultraviolet WLED phosphor.

Linear variable filters (LVF) are widely used in a variety of small rapid spectrometric detecting devices. In the present paper, the splitting property of LVF was studied, and the spectral-property expression in Gaussian form was given, and the relationship between indexes of expression and LVF center transmission, width of spectrum, and linear dispersion was specified. Measurement based on monochromator for imaging spectrometers calibration was introduced, the sensitivity for detection system was discussed, and the tolerance was analyzed. It was shown that the slit displacement of monochromator relative to the optical axle and the slope of LVF affect the detecting accuracy most, and the tolerance can be reduced by adjustment of optical path and structure to reach requirement. System was built and the detection for spectral property of sample LVF was made. The result of data processing indicates that MSE for center transmission detection was lower than 0.05%, and the accuracy of this method was proved. Reference-parameters of relevant system designing and calibrating based on the LVF can be provided by this method.

Objective: To construct a human recombinant immunoglobulin library containing HBsAb., Methods: The mRNA isolated from peripheral blood lymphocytes of two blood donors with HBsAb were reversely transcribed to the first strand cDNA with oligo-(dT) primer. Human immunoglobulin kappa light chains and heavy chains Fd genes were amplified respectively by PCR with designed oligo nucleotide primers and the first strand cDNA templates. The kappa light chain genes were first cloned into PComb3Hss vector to construct a human recombinant light chain library. The heavy chain genes were subsequently inserted into the corresponding sites of kappa-PComb3Hss plasmid to generate a combinatorial kappa-Fd-PComb3Hss plasmid. The plasmid transformed into E.Coli.XLI-Blue and the E.Coli.XLI-Blue infected by help phage., Results: The constructed light chains library size was 1.5 x 10(5), and the recombinant frequency of kappa chain genes was 57% and the human combinatorial Fab immunoglobulin library was 5 x 10(5) members and the recombinant frequency of Fab genes was 50%. Finally, the titer of phages in the phage antibody library containing HBsAb was 5 x 10(14) CFU/ml., Conclusion: Our work in constructing human immunoglobulin combinatorial library containing HBsAb will be beneficial to further study on selecting Fab phage antibodies of HBsAg from the library.

Objective: To obtaining cDNA clone of the coding region of human augmenter of liver regeneration(hALR) as a basis for further study., Methods: Total RNA of human fetal liver was extracted as a template. First strand of cDNA was synthesised by reverse transcription with olig(dT)-primer and then amplified by PCR with the primers designed by ourself. The size of PCR product was about 380 bp. it was subcloned into pUC19 and was sequenced by auto-sequencing instrument. The sequence of hALR was analysed with PCGENE program., Result: The cDNA of integrity coding region of hALR was obtained. Its size was 378 bp. The sequence homology of our hALR compared with rat ALR and human ALR recently reported were 86.5% and 99.2%, respectively., Conclusion: It was also suggested that hALR takes part in growth regulation of fetal liver during human fetus late development.

This study was done to determine if the production and metabolism of reactive oxygen species from human neutrophils were modulated by the treatment of interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha). Luminol-dependent Chemiluminescence (LmCL) responses were inhibited by a high concentration of IFN-alpha (more than 1 x 10(4) IU/ml) when opsonized zymosan (OZ) and phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) were used as stimulants. However, these responses were increased by 1 x 10(3) IU/ml of IFN-alpha with Ca(2+)-ionophore A23187 stimulation. Lucigenin-dependent Chemiluminescence (LgCL) responses were inhibited by all concentrations. These findings suggest the possibility that IFN-alpha inhibits activation of protein kinase C (PKC), whereas the resulting effect might be due to the inhibition of myeloperoxidese (MPO) degranulation. Preincubation of human neutrophils with IFN-alpha for 30, 60 or 120 minutes and subsequent stimulation with OZ, PMA and Ca(2+)-ionophore A23187 caused an increase LgCL responses, while inhibiting LmCL responses. These findings suggest that preincubation of human neutrophils with a high concentration of IFN-alpha might enhance the NADPH-oxidase activity, although a relative increase of LgCL was due to the inhibition MPO degranulation.
