Abstract

This report is a case of necrotizing sialometaplasia of the left hard palate in a 56-year-old Japanese male The swelling was 20 × 20mm in diameter, with the ulcer in the center The clinical diagnosis suggested the possibility of a tumor and the lesion was excised Histopathologically the diagnosis was necrotizing sialometaplasia Seventeen cases of necrotizing sialometaplasia, including the present case, reported in Japan, are reviewed
