Chen Leng Xue, a famous novelist, journalist and translator of the early twentieth century, profoundly influenced the translation and creation of Chinese modernization, the May Fourth writers and their works. Although consideration of translation is an important part of the increasing research on his translated novels, the global appreciation of his contribution has not fully been grasped. This paper uses the comparative method based on the title of the novel, angle of writing, outline, plot, expression, etc. to consider and verify concretely the essence and origin of the novels which Chen Leng Xue translated. In this paper, Mo ai Romance and Beggar girl were presented as examples to describe the considerations of Essence and Origin of Leng Xue’s translations, which has not yet been shown, and also examines the feature of the Japanese route in his translation.
