科学研究費補助金制度は、わが国で最も古い大学教員に対する研究費の提案・公募型の研究費配分制度である。本研究では１９９８年から２００２年度まで５年間の科学研究費補助金の採択件数を研究分野別ごとに、大学別に分類し各大学の研究活性度の指標にすることを目的としている。 本編はその最終編の第６篇として、大型研究費を対象としている。文系（法学・経済学・文学）、理系（理学、工学、農学）、医系（医学、歯学、薬学、看護学）、融合系（複合領域、広領域）、特別研究員奨励費については１、2、3、４、５編としてすでに報告されている。 本報告書では、特定領域研究、地域連携推進研究、特別推進研究、創成的基礎研究費、ＣＯＥ形成基礎研究費等の大型研究費を分析対象としているが、多くの場合大型研究のプロジェクトリーダーが国立基幹大学（旧帝大）に属しているためこれらの研究資金は主に国立基幹大学に配分される傾向が強い。また有名私立大学やいくつかの特徴のある大学も高順位に現れてきている。, The system of Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan is one of the oldest ones, which is the funding system for researchers belonging to universities and institutes in Japan. The fund was allotted to each researcher by peer review under the application for their own research project. The total number of adoption subjects of Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research from 1998 to 2002 has summed up for each university and institute on the individual research fields. The purpose of this report is to be the ranking of adoption subjects as an index of the research activities of each university and institute. This is the sixth and final report for the large-scaled and big project research which are in the special, creative and priority researches. As for other research fields, the first report on law, economics, and literature, the second report on science, engineering and agriculture, the third on medical science, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing, the forth on interdisciplinary, the fifth on Grant-in-aid for JSPS fellows were published previously. This report involves the big projects of Scientific Research on Priority Areas and for University and Society Collaboration, and the huge grants for Specially Promoted, Special Purpose, Creative Basic Research, COE Research and Creative Scientific Research. Since the project leaders of these big research projects mostly belong to the large national universities, many special research grants are allotted to the researchers in large national universities. Besides, big private universities are still strong, but some characteristic universities appear at higher ranking.

The next and final report on the large-scaled project funds will be published. In order to educate young active researchers, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) have a special fellowship system. The Grants-in-Aid are allotted to the adopted JSPS fellows automatically to encourage their research activity. Therefore, the number of adoption subjects corresponds to the number of young researchers candidate at each university and also a degree of the role of each university educating young researchers. The national and big private universities are still play an important role, but some characteristic universities take also large part of the field.

This forth report involves the wide and interdisciplinary fields and also the advanced and up-to-date research fields which cannot include in the traditional discipline. The ranking of these fields indicates clearly the research activities of interdisciplinary and special and up-to-date fields. The national and big private universities are still strong, but some characteristic universities appear at higher ranking. In each sub-field in details, the research characteristics of universities and institutes have been clearly revealed in their advanced and up-to-date research field.

This is the third report for the research fields of medical science, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing. As for other research fields, the first report on law, economics, and literature and second report on science, engineering and agriculture were already published, and other consecutive reports will be continuously published. These research fields are not only important for practical medical treatments, but also to promote the welfare of our life. Therefore, the 34% of this fund are allotted to this research field. There are many public and private medical universities in Japan. This report for the field of medical science, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing will clarify the role of each university in each research field. On the whole, the large-scale national universities which were imperial universities under the old system of higher education were generally in a higher rank every field, but general aspect of the ranking of this field is completely different from that of cultures, science and engineering. Many private and medical universities advanced in the ranking of middle part in the fiftieth. In each sub-field in details, the research characteristics of universities and institutes have been clearly revealed even on the fields of medical science, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing.

We have measured the heat transfer in superfluid helium in a glass capillary tube. The vortex viscosity calculated from pressure difference across the tube was linear to L_0^ in the range 15ddd and L_0d^2,we could evaluate the vortex-wall interaction parameter ξ' and ξ.
