Purpose – To study assessing the competitiveness of the agricultural problems of the Republic of Kazakhstan and recommend it in practice. Methodology – In writing articles used economic indicators in the northern regions of Kazakhstan, the statistics of international and national scientific publications. Originality/value – In an article carried out works to assess the competitiveness of the northern regions of Kazakhstan (Akmola, Kostanai, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan); is defined competitiveness in the agricultural sector in the region. Findings – Assessment of the competitiveness of agriculture, which allows to consider the relative problems that impede on the development or backwardness of agriculture in the region.
