Sudden implementation of online classes in higher education due to Covid19 pandemic implies a lot of worries about academic performance declining. Thus, this paper analyzed a class(CalculusI) taught 100% online which was the same as the offline class before. This class tried to maintain the same quality as the offline one by utilizing various teaching strategies. The result shows the academic achievement level was similar or higher than that of offline class, and so was the students’ perception and satisfaction degree. However, this was not just the outcome of online class, but it came from the professor’s well-designed teaching plan and smooth operation of the class. It implicates successful teaching methodology is more important factor than such medium difference as online or offline. This study suggests the potential of online classes after the Covid19 pandemic, and expects further studies verify the result in a lot more curricula. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper examines the differences between the subsequent careers of high school and college graduate workers based on a direct role of college graduation with regard to the revelation of workers’ individual abilities. Using NLSY79, we document a positive relationship between off-the-job training/performance-pay jobs and ability for high school graduates at the early stages of their careers. However, this relationship is less prominent for college graduates. Moreover, we show that high ability is associated with more jobs, which reflects higher job mobility, only for high school graduates. We argue that these patterns are the result of productivity-revealing behavior of high school graduates, whose individual abilities, unlike college graduates, is not observed precisely at the beginning of their careers.

The college students who are in the game generation have different cognitive characteristics from the previous generations, and the phenomena of attention loss in the existing education methods such as lectures are generally seen. This results in a problem that the satisfaction of the university education is lowered. To solve this problem, it is possible to improve students' interest and concentration by using game-based educational methods. In this paper, we propose a method of university education using alternative reality game. The prototype was implemented and tested to verify that the proposed method is suitable for the university environment and can be operated. Through the test results, we confirmed that the proposed method meets the requirements of the university education field and that the required functions are functioning normally. In addition, according to the results of the questionnaire surveyed for the students, it shows that the proposed alternative game method based on the alternative reality game will be more effective in attracting students and improving concentration than the current education method. This study was to explore the domestic research trends, and education and operation cases concerned with Korean colleges in the fourth industrial revolution era. It was conducted through the analysis of 114 academic papers registered to the Korea Research Foundation, the newspaper articles, and the main 4-year university homepage from 2016 to April 2019. The results was as follows. Research papers have been increasing since 2016; research were conducted by humanities and social sciences as well as engineering academics interesting in research topics such as technologies, curriculum, and teaching and learning by mainly using quantitative research, literature research. As for the college education, reorganization of the undergraduate and majors centered on the science and engineering field, teaching and learning related with learner’s participation and performance, and provide efficient academic affairs management and career guidance using Chatbot or Cloud computing. Industry-academia cooperation was focuses on the field of science and engineering. In future research, it is necessary to explore the research on college students’ career and employment, the research on academic affairs management and infrastructure, the relational research considering the variables among college students and faculties, and the qualitative and mixed method approach. This paper examines the empirical magnitude of local human capital spillovers in Korea during the 1980s and mid-1990s. Local human capital spillovers exists if plants in regions with a higher level of human capital can produce more given their own amount of input (Moretti 2004c). In particular, this paper explores an educational reform in South Korea which exogenously induced a large amount of variation in regional human capital levels. Using annually collected plant level data, I explore the effect of changes in the regional human capital levels induced by this reform on plant productivity in Korea. My results suggest that this effect is limited. I find a positive correlation between a regional level of human capital and plant productivity. However, after further addressing endogeneity using an instrumental variable, the effect of the overall regional human capital level on productivity decreases and becomes statistically insignificant.
