This paper economically analyzes the benefits and concerns of the sharing economy and derives policy implications that could help to achieve the expected benefits and respond appropriately to any concerns. Primary benefits anticipated from the sharing economy are the creation of new transactions and promotional and market testing opportunities, and the main concerns include the crowding out of existing transactions as well as transaction and social risks. How these benefits and concerns are being realized in Korea is empirically examined by conducting a survey on participation experiences with the sharing economy. The sharing economy is expected to contribute to the enhancement of social welfare with its wide range of benefits if risk factors can be properly controlled. Accordingly, an institutional framework is needed to support the stable growth of the sharing economy, and the unique characteristics of non-professional, peer-to-peer transactions should be reflected in tandem with regulatory equity between existing and sharing economy suppliers. To do this, transaction-volume-based regulations are recommended. Furthermore, to secure regulatory effectiveness and to alleviate transaction risks, the pertinent obligations must be imposed on sharing platforms.

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the impact of an intervention using voice recording of family members on pain, anxiety, and agitation in patients undergoing weaning from mechanical ventilation. Methods: A randomized control pre-post experimental design was implemented to 53 participants, with 27 and 26 participants in the experimental and control groups, respectively. A 70-second voice recording of a family member, repeated three times at 10-minute intervals was used as an intervention for the experimental group. Meanwhile, participants in the control group used headset for 30 minutes. Structured instruments were utilized to measure pain, anxiety, agitation, and the weaning process. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test and the Mann-Whitney U test, or χ2 test, were used for data analysis. Results: The experimental group exhibited significant decrease in pain (Z = - 3.53, p < .001), anxiety (t = 5.45, p < .001), and agitation (Z = - 2.99, p = .003) scores compared with those of the control group. However, there was no significant difference between groups in the weaning process' simplification (χ2 = 0.63, p = .727). Conclusion: Intervention using family members' voice recording effectively reduces pain, anxiety, and agitation in patients undergoing weaning from mechanical ventilation. This can be actively utilized to provide a more comfortable process for patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper focuses on the recent extraordinary growth of Chinese cross-border online shopping and draws implications for firm strategies and government policies in Korea to utilize the phenomenon as an opportunity to expand into a broader market via e-commerce exports. I conduct a survey of Chinese cross-border online consumers to identify constraining and determining factors during the stages of their purchase decisions of Korean products. Given the fact that Chinese cross-border online shopping is at the incipient stage and consumers have expressed a strong intent to repurchase, future strategies should focus on attracting new consumers. Accordingly, Korean firms should build a powerful brand image, improve product quality and post-purchase services, and take full advantage of the popularity of the Korean Wave. Meanwhile, the government must step up policy efforts by, for instance, improving e-commerce export statistics, simplifying logistics and clearance procedures, and building trust in Chinese consumers.

Objectives: Buxus Microphylla var. Koreana Nakai Extract (BMKNE) is used as a folk remedy for malaria and veneral disease. In the present study, we investigated the effects of BMKNE in the growth and the survival of AGS cells, the most common human gastric adenocarcinoma cell lines. Methods: The AGS cells were treated with varying concentrations of BMKNE. Analyses of the sub G1 peak, the caspase-3 and -9 activities, and the mitochondrial depolarization were conducted to determine whether AGS cell death occured by apoptosis. Also, to identify the role of transient receptor potential melastatin (TRPM) 7 channels in AGS cell growth and survival, we used human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293 cells overexpressed with TRPM7 channels. Results: Experimental results showed that the sub G1 peak, the caspase-3 and -9 activities, and the mitochondrial depolarization were increased. Therefore, BMKNE was found to induce the apoptosis of these cells, and this apoptosis was inhibited by SB203580 (a p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) inhibitor), and by a c-jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) II inhibitor. Furthermore, BMKNE inhibited TRPM7 currents and TRPM7 channel over-expressions in HEK 293 cells, exacerbating BMKNE-induced cell death. Conclusions: These findings indicate that BMKNE inhibits the growth and the survival of gastric cancer cells due to a blockade of the TRPM7 channel’s activity and MAPK signaling. Therefore, BMKNE is a potential drug for treatment of gastric cancer, and both the TRPM7 channel and MAPK signaling may play an important role in survival in gastric cancer cells.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-cancer effects of Sophorae Radix (SR) and doxorubicin (DOX) in human gastric and colorectal adenocarcinoma cells. We used the human gastric and colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines (MKN-45 and WIDR cells, respectively). We examined cell death by using the MTT(3-[4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2, 5- diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay and the caspase 3 assay with SR. To examine the inhibitory effects of SR, we performed a cell cycle (sub G1) analysis for the MKN-45 and WIDR cells after three days with SR. The reversibility of SR was examined for one-day to five-day treatments with SR. SR inhibited the growth of MKN-45 and WIDR cells in a dosedependent manner. Also, we showed that SR induced apoptosis in MKN-45 and WIDR cells by using the MTT assay, the caspase 3 assay and the sub-G1 analysis. SR combined with DOX markedly inhibited the growth of MKN-45 and WIDR cells compared to SR or DOX alone. After 3 days of treating MKN-45 and WIDR cells with SR, the fraction of cells in the sub-G1 phase was much higher than that of the control group. Our findings provide insights into unraveling the effects of SR on human gastric and colorectal adenocarcinoma cells and into developing therapeutic agents for use against gastric and colorectal adenocarcinomas.

A checklist of dietary behavior items for the elderly was developed based on Korean dietary guidelines. First, a literature review was conducted, and 63 preliminary items, including 30 items on food intake, 12 on eating habits, and 21 on dietary culture, were obtained to evaluate the dietary guidelines. The preliminary items were evaluated by experts using Lawshe’s method to verify the content validity. They were then revised, resulting in 52 items: 25, 11, and 16 in the food intake, eating habits, and dietary culture domains, respectively. A face-to-face survey was conducted on 331 people over 65 years of age in the metropolitan area, and their one-day food intake was surveyed using a 24-hour recall method in August 2022. The 48 items, including 24, 11, and 13 items on food intake, eating habits, and dietary culture, respectively, correlated significantly with the evaluation indicators of nutrient intake, such as mean adequacy ratio, dietary diversity score, and nutrient intake density. These items were considered suitable for evaluating the elderly's compliance with dietary guidelines. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LOW noise amplifiers ,AUDITING standards ,5G networks ,GALLIUM arsenide - Abstract
This paper discusses the design of a 4.4∼5.0 GHz low-noise amplifier (LNA) using a 0.5-μm GaAs pHEMT process. The transistor size was optimized to address the mismatch between optimal noise and input impedance owing to the unique noise sources of the transistor and parasitic characteristics, achieving a low noise figure with high input and noise optimal impedance matching without additional inter-stage loss components. The designed low-noise amplifier consumed 48 mW of power in the 4.4∼5.0 GHz range, demonstrating more than 23 dB of gain and a low noise figure of less than 0.9 dB. The size of the fabricated circuit was 1.8×1.4 mm². [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper discusses the design of a 3.5-GHz band Doherty power amplifier using a 0.5-μm GaAs process. The design was optimized through load-pull simulations, employing the second harmonic trap filter at the output of the peaking amplifier to maintain high linearity. Measurement results of the fabricated power amplifier showed a maximum saturated power of 27.8 dBm and power-added efficiency (PAE) of 34.3 % in the 3.5 GHz band. Additionally, with a 5G NR 64-QAM 100-MHz modulated signal, it achieved a linear output power of 22 dBm with an EVM of 5.6 % and a linear output power added efficiency of 19.8 %. RECOMMENDER systems ,BODY size ,MEN'S clothing ,PROBLEM solving ,COLLEGE students ,TEXT recognition - Abstract
Existing clothing recommendation systems remain at the level of showing appropriate photos when a user selects a type of clothing he or she likes after entering his or her own body size or body size. When a user purchases clothing using such recommendation systems, there are many cases in which it does not fit or does not fit the user's body size. In this study, to solve these problems of existing clothing recommendation systems, a system was implemented in which the user receives not only size but also skin tone and recommends clothing suitable for the user's body size as well as skin tone. In this system, clothing size information obtained through web crawling was periodically stored in a database for eight male tops to recommend clothing, and the entire pixel of the clothing image was analyzed to extract color text values. In order to confirm the performance of this system, a survey was conducted on 100 male college students, and the satisfaction level was 70%. Most of the reasons for not being satisfied are that the recommended clothing is limited, so it is judged that it is necessary to expand the target clothing in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose : Based on Quint's theory and the relevant literature, this study constructed a structural equation model for explaining and predicting end-of-life care performance in clinical nurses. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from 265 nurses between September 1 and September 30, 2016. The data were analyzed using SPSS ver. 21 and AMOS ver. 21. Results: The goodness of fit of the modified model was found to be relatively satisfactory (χ²=114.82, Nomed χ²(χ²/df)=2.44, SRMR=.06, GFI=.94, AGFI=.89, CFI=.95, TLI=.91, RMSEA=.07). End-of-life care performance was affected by the attitudes toward nursing care of the dying, working unit, and death anxiety. The attitudes toward such care had the highest effect on end-of-life care performance. Conclusion : The results suggest that end-of-life care performance is directly and indirectly affected by attitudes toward nursing care of the dying, participation in end-of-life care education, working unit, death perception, and death anxiety. To improve clinical nurses' end-of-life care performance, effective programs to promote death anxiety and attitudes toward nursing care of the dying need to be developed. In addition, hospital nursing organizations should attempt to produce concrete measures for death anxiety and terminal care attitudes in clinical nurses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

OCCUPATIONAL achievement ,NETWORK effect ,SOCIAL capital ,LITERATURE reviews ,EMPLOYMENT - Abstract
In this study, we consider the relationship between boundaryless career attitudes and career success and the mediating effect of networking behavior. Boundaryless career attitude refers to career attitude in which career paths can gain experience in various environments beyond the fence of a single employment situation. Based on a prior research review, research hypotheses were established for the relationship between boundaryless career attitudes and subjective· objective career success. In addition, three networking behaviors, one of the social capital, were set as mediators between the two variables. Verifying the research hypothesis shows that the boundaryless career attitude and subjective career success are in a significant positive relationship and that the relationship is completely mediated by contact maintaining, friendship, and task networking behaviors. The boundaryless career attitude is a significant positibe effect with objective career success, and this relationship has been shown to be completely mediated by friendship and task networking behavior. Based on the above research results, interpretations, implications, and future research directions were presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of wearable keywords using text mining methodology. To this end, 11,952 newspaper articles were collected from 1992 to 2019, and frequency analysis and bi-gram analysis were applied. The frequency analysis showed that Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Apple were extracted as the highest frequency words, and smart watches and smart bands continued to emerge as higher frequency in terms of devices. As a result of the analysis of the bi-gram, it was confirmed that the sequence of two adjacent words such as world-first and world-largest appeared continuously, and related new bi-gram words were derived whenever issues or events occurred. This trend of wearable keywords will be useful for understanding the wearable trend and future direction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Distal humeral nonunion is one of the most concerned complications in elbow trauma. When bone loss at the fracture site is carried out due to nonunion, metaphyseal bone defect occurs. Therefore positioning of anatomical locking plate becomes difficult owing to abnormal bone contour, and fixation of small nonunion fragment is challenging. We introduce a good method of anatomical locking plate fixation with autogenous inlay strut bone graft for internal fixation. This technique is to insert autogenous inlay bone into the proximal medullary canal and hole of distal bone fragment which will lead to achieve correction of the anatomical alignment, length and rotation deformity. The inlay grafting is reduced to the shaft with two crossed K-wires temporarily. Definitive fixation is performed with locking plates, and autogenous bone graft is added at the defect site. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine whether poor preoperative nutritional status in elderly patients exhibited a negative influence on postoperative clinical outcomes. Methods: The medical records of 645 elderly patients were examined retrospectively. The patients had undergone major surgery between January 2017 and January 2018. Their nutritional status was measured using the Nutritional Risk Screening 2002. The data were analyzed using the chi-squared test, the Mann-Whitney U test, logistic regression, linear regression, Cox proportional hazards regression, and the Kaplan-Meier analysis. Results: Preoperative malnutrition was found in 73 patients (11.3%). Poor preoperative nutritional status was significantly associated with pressure ulcers, length of hospitalization, discharge to patient care facilities rather than home, and mortality rate at three months. Conclusion: Preoperative malnutrition in elderly patients was associated with negative postoperative clinical outcomes. These results indicate that an effective nutritional program before surgery can lead to a more rapid postoperative recovery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine whether appreciative inquiry (AI) is an effective intervention for increasing the positive psychological capital and organizational commitment of new nurses. Method : The study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 60 new nurses in a tertiary hospital in Seoul. The experimental group received 2 classes of AI education and in-unit AI activities. The control group received the existing education program. Results : There was no statistically significant difference in the positive psychological capital and organizational commitment between the experimental group and the control group over time. Satisfaction with the AI education scored 3.69, which was higher than the average. The reason why the experimental group members were satisfied with the program was that AI education helped them to adapt and the in-unit AI activities made staff more cooperative and the atmosphere of the unit more positive. Conclusion : When applying AI activities to new nurses to promote positive psychological capital and organizational commitment, it is necessary to provide a workshop in which the participants can fully concentrate on education and to extend the period of use to one year in order to maintain the effect of AI activities. CHOSON dynasty, Korea, 1392-1910 ,SOY sauce ,GRAIN ,SIXTEENTH century ,TOFU ,MUNG bean - Abstract
This study researched the food culture and bean economy of the Joseon dynasty during the 16th century and according to the primary lifestyle reference『Shaemirok (權尾錄)』. The research analyzed the textual contents of the『Shaemirok (權尾錄)』. It is clear that the people of the Joseon dynasty produced more beans than grain, at a ratio of 41 to 50, respectively. The soy bean sauce consumption was split into family consumption and non-family consumption. It was evident that there was more family consumption compared to that of non-family consumption at a ratio of 7 to 3, respectively. People of the Joseon dynasty annually recorded their way of making soy sauce from 1595 to 1600. The Joseon writers edited the record six times for making meju and four times for making soy sauce. The recorded ratio displays the ingredients of soy sauce, which were: 6 Du of Mal Jang and 2 Du of salt. Mal Jang and salt had a three to one ratio, respectively. The most mentioned food was Tofu during the mid-Joseon period with fifty six mentions. The Joseon people regarded making Tofu in a Buddhist temple as a family-bonding experience. Porridge was the second most prominent food next to Tofu, among the bean-related food. Porridge appears thirty five times. There were 3 types of porridge named: bean porridge, bean powder porridge and mung bean porridge. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional awareness and psychological well-being in adolescents with cognitive emotion regulation strategies as mediators. Methods: A total of 375 middle and high school students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do participated. Selfreport questionnaires were used to assess their emotional awareness, adaptive and maladaptive emotion regulation strategies, and psychological well-being. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlations, and regression analyses in PROCESS macro. Results: First, emotional awareness was related to both cognitive emotion regulation strategies and psychological well-being. Also, adaptive strategies for regulating emotions were strongly related to psychological well-being, while maladaptive strategies were inversely related to psychological wellbeing. Second, both adaptive and maladaptive emotion regulation strategies partially mediated the link between emotional awareness and psychological well-being in adolescents. Conclusions: These findings indicate that emotional awareness and cognitive emotion regulation strategies are important factors in improving the psychological well-being of adolescents.
