In the first article of this series, upon performing the situation analysis in the Ignalina NPP Unit V1 and collecting the primary information related to components' physical characteristics, radiological, location and other data, a primary analysis was performed. Based on this analysis, alternative equipment dismantling approaches (cases) were formulated as well as a hierarchical list of criteria necessary for performing a multi-criteria analysis, which is characteristic of the projects related to the dismantling of the contaminated equipment in nuclear power plants, was made. In this article, also the identification of the quantitative criteria for different dismantling approaches to the Ignalina NPP Unit V1 equipment is presented. Two cases where analyzed in total: the first when the decontamination of dismantled components (if possible) is performed, and the second when no decontamination of dismantled components is performed, and after dismantling the components are routed to an appropriate waste storage or disposal sites. Using DECRAD software developed at the LEI Nuclear Engineering Laboratory performed the analysis. The results have shown that in case when no decontamination is performed, the mass of the primary components being disposed of in a very low-level waste repository is about two times higher in comparison with the case when decontamination in done. The necessary investments and the total expenses for the whole project implementation by the two dismantling methods differ only by ~6% and 7%, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
