Starting from the national significance of Blazhe Koneski emerging from his impressive opus, this paper is dealing with the way the contemporary Macedonian culture and the actual generations of authors are treating his inheritance. He is not only omnipresent in our culture, but also very popular in a scale not comparable to others in Macedonian cultural contexts. Therefore, this paper will review some of the latest examples of influence, inspiration and dialog between Koneski and his descendants in literature, music, visual and performative art. They treat Koneski as a link to the tradition, an image of the Canon, a symbol of Macedonian identity. They honor and glory his work, but also redefine and rethink it in their own unique artistic visions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
