Comorbidity is more the rule than the exception in mental health, specifically in the case of anxiety and depression. Transdiagnostic models studied the underlying processes to improve mental health treatment and understating. Objective: This systematic review searchs for evidence on transdiagnostic risk factors for anxiety and depression in the clinical population diagnosed with these psychopathological conditions, by analysing the different types or categories of factors identified. Methods: A systematic review was registered in PROSPERO (registration number CRD42022370327) and was designed according to PRISMA-P guidelines. Two independent reviewers with field knowledge assessed the study quality to reduce bias. Results: Fifty-three articles were examined, and the transdiagnostic variables were grouped into three categories: psychological, biological, and sociocultural. Conclusions: The most studied category was that of psychological variables, especially cognitive processes, negative affect, and neuroticism, intolerance of uncertainty, anxiety sensitivity. Objective: to analyze maternal and neonatal factors associated with congenital anomalies in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Method: cross-sectional study with secondary data. The sample consisted of 5,830 live births between 2012 and 2015. Maternal and neonatal variables that described demographic and health aspects were analyzed. Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied. Results: the occurrence of congenital anomalies was present in 0.8% of live births and the most frequent were related to the musculoskeletal, circulatory and genitourinary systems. There was a significant statistical association between mothers with children with a history of previous stillbirth, prematurity and a lower Apgar score in the 5th minute with the occurrence of anomalies. Conclusion: the study analyzed maternal and neonatal factors associated with congenital anomalies, demonstrating the groups at highest risk for congenital anomalies. Objectives: the aim is to determine the prevalence of hypertensive disorders and to describe the sociodemographic aspects and risk factors for preeclampsia, gestational hypertension and intrauterine growth restriction. Methods: a descriptive cross-sectional study. Maternal characteristics, history from the first prenatal visit and outcomes were obtained. The prevalence and percentages were calculated and described. Results: the prevalence of hypertensive disorders was 12.7%, preeclampsia was 8.0%, followed by gestational hypertension at 4.7%. Of the preeclampsia, 54.8% were severe and 11.9% were of early onset. Moreover, 56.5% of the severe preeclampsia had preterm deliveries. IUGR had a prevalence of 5.3%. Based on maternal history, the most relevant risk factors were a family and personal history of preeclampsia and IUGR. Conclusions: we found a considerable prevalence of preeclampsia with a high percentage of preterm deliveries, associated with varying severity. This data helps health professionals to be aware of the risk factors that can be followed up for preventing complications. The determination of the risk of developing a hypertensive disorder during pregnancy is fundamental to encouraging proper counseling and care for these women through gestation. Objective: To investigate, through an integrative review, the damage to nursing workers' health due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: Integrative literature review performed in MEDLINE/PubMed, SciELO, LILACS and BDENF databases in September 2020, which generated 1,772 references. After removing the duplicates and using the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the final sample was composed of 22 articles. Results: Sleep disorders, depression symptoms, somatic symptoms, anxiety, stress, fatigue, risk of Burnout syndrome, risk of post-traumatic stress, dermatitis and eczema of the hands were harms found in nursing professionals due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Among the protective factors, personal gratification, family relationship, resilience, and personal accomplishment stand out. Conclusion: The protection of nursing workers' health involves urgent efforts related to the provision of basic conditions of worker safety, requiring public policies and investments for the preservation of nursing workers' health. Protection actions are related to the implementation of psychological safety management, establishing clear guidelines, promoting continuing education, and ensuring better working conditions. Objective: To analyze the epidemiological behavior of the suicide attempt, examining the differences between gender, sociodemographic, psychosocial and specific variables during 2012-2017. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional analytical study including 524 cases reported to the National Public Health Surveillance System (SIVIGILA for its acronym in Spanish) between 2012 and 2017 in the municipality of Sogamoso. The variable of interest was based on gender, the data were processed, and a binary logistic regression model was built with a confidence level of 95% and an accuracy of 5%. Results: With the bivariate logistic regression model it was found that adolescence and early adulthood (p<0.05) are significantly associated with the female gender, and partner conflict (p<0.05; OR= 2.32); regarding the possible trigger thus evidencing an interaction with the violence variable (P<0.05). On the other hand, alcohol consumption became a variable significantly associated with the male gender (p<0.05) and an OR= 3.6 for females. Conclusions: it is evidenced that the age-adjusted impacts do not show a significant reduction from the beginning to the end of the period, being evident the concentration in early developmental ages. The results observed in women and men reveal a need for training community agents or guardians (gatekeepers) and the strengthening of listening centers and other community intervention strategies. Neospora spp. is a protozoan parasite that causes abortions and diseases in the Central Nervous System (CNS) of several domestic and wild animal species. In horses, this parasite causes abortions, neonatal mortality, and CNS diseases. The Neospora species identified in horses is different from Neospora caninum and is called Neospora hughesi. This study aimed to detect the presence of anti-Neospora spp. antibodies associated with different risk factors in horses from Mexico. Risk factors were identified by surveying each stable and individual animal from four different regions (Center, North, West, and South). A total of 684 serum samples were obtained from horses in the different regions, 52.3 % (358) males and 47.7 % (326) females. Samples were subjected to an indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) assay; results were analyzed to estimate the association between seropositivity and risk factors. The seroprevalence of Neospora spp. was 2.34 %. The positive cases were mainly found in three of the four regions included in this study and were significantly associated with anti-Neospora spp. antibodies. The coexistence of the horses with other animals obtained an OR value of 2.34 (95% CI: 0.28 - 19.0; P<0.04). This study concludes that Neospora spp. is present in horses from Mexico. The objective of this study was to identify comorbidity between PTSD and MDD in people who are victims of forced displacement and associated factors. A research with a quantitative approach, a nonexperimental cross-sectional design and a descriptive-analytical scope was carried out. 120 people, of both genders, from 18 to 57 years old, selected through a non-probabilistic convenience sampling, were evaluated. A structured clinical interview for Axis I diagnoses (SCID-I) was used based on the DSM IV criteria for PTSD and MDD, after the application of a questionnaire of sociodemographic data and clinical history with which the factors of risks and associated symptoms were registered. The prevalence for PTSD was 48%, 32% for MDD, and 21% for comorbidity, associated with suicidal ideation and attempt and rumination symptoms. The results were discussed in light of other prevalence studies and the importance of associated risk factors in understanding the comorbidity between PTSD and MDD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To analyze the knowledge of young adults about stroke. Method: Quantitative, cross-sectional study in a non-clinical environment. Convenience simple. Through the elementary school of Evora, parental figures were asked to participate. Ethical aspects were respected. Self-fill questionnaire returned after one week. Results: 147 men (44.5%) participated, 183 women (55.5%), with a mean age of 42.25 years (SD = 5.00). The most commonly reported risk behavior for stroke is smoking (56.5%), followed by hypertension (28.8%) and hypercholesterolemia (28.8%). The main sources of information are television (93.2%) and friends (89.4%). In immediate witness assistance, the attitudes of the participants would be mostly incorrect. There is a gap between knowledge and the respective action. Conclusions: there is a risk behavior, observed also among other studies, with a population of older people. The results show a lack of literacy in health. It will be urgent to develop projects that inform and exemplify the risks of behavior. The performance of the person with stroke must be taught and trained to the citizen. The dissemination of information about stroke is urgent in the region. Young adults, as educators, can intervene to reduce cases in the generation of their children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: The high blood pressure (HBP) is a frequent reason for consultation in health services and it is one of the most common diseases that affects adult individuals in all parts of the world. Its epidemiological characterization is very important to prevent risks. Objectives: To determine the prevalence of HBP, its strength of association with some epidemiological and lifestyle variables, and its percentage population attributable risk. Method: A retrospective analytical observational epidemiological research (cases and controls) was conducted to determine the strength of association of some variables related to HBP in the population of 15 or more years of age. Results: The punctual prevalence rate of high blood pressure was 111.5 × 10³. Caucasian patients predominated, in the age group between 45-59 years, without sex differences. The most prevalent modifiable risk factors were the ingestion of salt, the consumption of coffee, the non-practice of physical exercise and the habit of smoking. The highest percentage population attributable risk figures corresponded to the ingestion of salt, the non-practice of physical exercise and obesity. Conclusions: The overweight, obesity, increased consumption of salt, little or no practice of physical exercise, excessive consumption of coffee, smoking, personal pathological history of diabetes mellitus, regardless of type, and family history of high blood pressure showed a causal association with HBP and, therefore, with the risk of suffering some of its complications, mainly cardio-cerebrovascular and renal.
