The guesthouses and inns constitute an important type of architecture in the history of communications and routes in Spain, as they reflect the way of life and the organization of the territory until 19th century. The modification and improvement of the old roads, so as the opening of new routes, caused many of these constructions to disappear or have reached our time in a serious state of deterioration. Given its relevance as architectural heritage, this work proposes the study of historical cartography to proceed with its location and inventory in the area of the Region of Murcia in order to deepen its knowledge and contribute to its enhancement. We must especially mention the cartographic minutes prior to the National Topographic Map which, due to their level of detail, constitute an excellent tool for the analysis of these auxiliary constructions to the roads. This study presents methodologically consistent length measurements of rivers with a total length of 40 kilometres or more in the Republic of Croatia. These measurements were performed by vectorising river channels from a topographic map at a scale of 1:25,000. Contemporary orthophoto maps were used as additional cartographic sources for verification. The approaches used to determine the starting and ending points of rivers, i.e. sources and mouths or confluences, have been explained and their spatial coordinates were listed. The results showed that in terms of total river length, the 21 rivers in this study differed from the available official data by less than 5%. Considerable differences were found for rivers where significant river engineering works had been carried out to channelize and divert flow, as well as for rivers in the Adriatic Basin where there have been methodological differences in determining the river mouth, and for large lowland rivers where changes in channel planform are common due to natural dynamics and engineering interventions. Moreover, this research revealed that the longest Croatian river, with its source, confluence, and both river banks situated entirely within the territory of Croatia, is the Karašica River, with a total length of 148 km. A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.2 with the epicentre near the town of Petrinja occurred on December 29th, 2020 in the fault zone of the right strike-slip Pokupsko Fault in Croatia. The aim of this study was to determine if there are geomorphological indicators of active tectonics in this area. General morphometric methods based on a digital elevation model with a resolution of 10 m were used. Geomorphological indicators of active tectonics were also determined based on topographic maps and hillshade relief. All the collected data were used to reconstruct the traces of the main morpholineaments on the surface and to determine the main morphostructures. It was found that the central part of the studied area, Hrastovička Gora, has morphological features possibly corresponding to a pop-up structure (positive flower) and that it consists of two separate morphostructures. They are separated from each other by an east-west oriented morpholineament, which is a possible segment of the Pokupsko Fault. Comparison of the collected results with the data on the location of the epicentres of the Petrinja series earthquakes of magnitude 4.0 and higher, which occurred in the period from December 28th, 2020 to March 3rd, 2021, indicates the possibility that these earthquakes were related to this restraining bending zone of the right horizontal Pokupsko Fault, which should be studied in more detail in the future. Introduction/aim: This article is written to acquaint readers with the development of a space system of Earth remote sensing in the Republic of Kazakhstan using remote sensing data to support the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Methods: An analytical approach to the study of the development of space and information technologies has led to qualitative changes in the field of remote sensing of the Earth. Conclusions were also made based on the analysis of the historical aspects of the formation and development of space systems for remote sensing of the Earth. This article deals with significant improvements in the field of geoinformation support to the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations in the interests of the security of the Republic of Kazakhstan using high-resolution satellite images from domestic spacecraft to create digital state topographic maps of the entire scale series with simultaneous updating. Results: The article provides a brief overview of remote sensing systems using geoinformation technologies in foreign countries and in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Conclusions: A special unit "Photogrammetric center for remote sensing and UAV data processing" is capable of processing data of remote sensing and UAVS for the armed forces, other troops and military units of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Data processing technologies have little in common with traditional processing and representation of geographical data, and finally, geographical data serves only as a basis for solving a large number of applied problems. The Acôgo stream watershed is located in the Miranda Depression, in the transition between the Pantanal Plain and the Maracajú-Campo Grande Plateau. Its social, cultural, and environmental dynamics is typical of the region, marked by the existence of large rural properties with extensive livestock. The native vegetation suppression of Brazilian Cerrado for implantation of exotic pastures is facilitated by the flattened relief. This paper aims to analyze the dynamics of land use and coverage correlating it with the geomorphometric dynamics (Relief Energy) of this watershed. The Relief Energy map expresses a mathematical measurement of the relief and originates from the synthesis between the Letters of Interfluvial Amplitude, Altimetric Amplitude, and Declivity. Although the basin presents the geomorphometric potential for morphodynamic stability, it is unbalanced when climatic, pedological, geological, and anthropic factors are analyzed, and geomorphometric stability proved to be a facilitator of anthropic occupation for the use of pastures. Its implementation led to sharp deforestation, with only 24.82% of forest remnants left in the basin to 73.76% of pastures. The analysis and environmental planning of the basin should be based on the observance of the various elements involved, seeking to address anthropic and natural issues, aiming to contribute to its dynamic balance. Thus, it is indicated the need to adopt conservation practices of vegetation and improvement of existing pastures, which can meet the needs of economic activity without the continuity of the removal of forest remnants. The aim of this expert paper is to show development in the area of cartography in chronological order from the time when Albania first appeared on maps by well-known Venetian cartographers (with toponyms in Albanian). An overview of various topographic maps and maritime charts is presented, along with the relevant local and international institutions whose main activities were cartography and geoinformation during different periods. An expert opinion is expressed on the current state of cartographic and geoinformation data as a scientific discipline, with a special emphasis on alignment with international standards. This paper describes the hillfort sites situated in the lower course of the River Zrmanja. The sites were detected through the analysis of aerial and satellite imagery and topographic and historical maps. The sites were confirmed through field and aerial surveys. The majority of the sites are relatively small and built in favorable situations in the Zrmanja canyon or in the 2.5 km zone around the river. Groups may be defined for sites with specific characteristics, such as the dominance of linear and smaller structures. The majority of the sites lack soil deposits. Certain sites display different characteristics. Velika Gradina and Bojnik at Kruševo are considerably larger than the average sites in the area, while Berberova Gradina contains rich cultural layers. The hillfort Gradina at Muškovci has the most monumental dry stone wall architecture in the region, and it stands out as a significant prehistoric fort. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper morphological-hydrographic changes in the area of the coal open pit "Turija" in Banovići basin (north-eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina) are researched. The study was based on the field data and comparative analysis of topographic maps, satellite images, Digital Elevation Model and situational plans of the open pit area. With conducted GIS analysis of natural and anthropogenic relief of open pit "Turija" the changes in the structure of hypsometric level, slope and aspect, and the changes in the surface hydrographical network etc. are determined. The general trend of ground levelling, decrease in altitude differences, gradual disappearance of physical micro relief, disappearance of geomorphologic boundaries on the surface, disorganization of hydrographical network, the development of positive and negative forms of relief, and greater presence of physicalanthropogenic processes and forms in relation to physical ones are determined. Reduction of territories with southerly, easterly and westerly aspects, and a significant increase in territories with northerly aspect is also determined. Geospatial data obtained by GIS after their analytical and synthetic processing are geovisualized. Ten thematic maps were made and they provide insight into resulted changes in the researched geographical area. The explored indicators can serve as a significant factor in the future planning and selection of the type of re-cultivation of degraded areas in the area of research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
