The aim of this study was stablish of gene bank on The Caspian Sea bony fish, identification genetic characterization and population of Barbus brachycephalus caspius, Lucioperca lucioperca , Rutilus rutilus caspius , Rutilus frisi kutum and Salmo trutta caspius in southern part of the Caspian Sea by molecular method (Microsatellites) and formation DNA bank, create of cryopreservation bank of bony fish and the feasibility of creating a natural habitat for spawning of bony fish in the Caspian Sea in order to preserve biodiversity and genetic risk. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of natural reproduction of indanger fish in the southern Caspian Sea in Tajan, Haraz,Sardabrood and Chalos rivers, and identify suitable habitats for this species in the study area as a genetic reserve.Sampling of physical and chemical parameters of water, macrobenthic invertebrates and fish fauna was conducted seasonaly in each rivers at selected stations from febrary 2010 during one year. Macrobenthic invertebrate sampling were used bySorber sampler and fish was collected by gill net and electroshocker set with a voltage of 1.7 A and 100-300 V. A total of 53 taxa of macrobenticinvertabrateshave been identified in the four mentioned rivers, in which Tajanriverconsisted of 47 taxa with highest richness.20 species of fish were determined in the studied rivers that 6 of them were non-native species.The results showed that the predominant identified fish species were native in the river. The fish species diversity increases as one moves from the headstream towards the estuaries of the two studied Sardabrud and Chalus rivers.The results of this study showed that the relative abundance of fish species resistant to pollution and hard environmental conditions were much more that sensitive species. physicochemical parameters of water such as; water temperature, DO, BOD5, pH, TSS, TDS, EC, turbidity, nutrients, biodiversity index such as Shanon index, EPT, HFBI, EPT/CHIR, nutrition functioning group and present or absent of fish species showed that there are significant decrease in water qualities from upstraem ratio to down stream (For example, in Tajan river water turbidity varied from 0 at station 1 to 333 NTU at station 6, Which is strongly influenced by sand workshops. The minimum of HFBI index was 2.84 at station 1 and the maximum was recorded at station 5 with 6.01, and there is not any possibility to natural reproduction of migrated species that are dominant and indanger at downstream. Conditions for natural reproduction of this species in the rivers of srdabrood and Chalus there is to some. In Shahid- Rajaei dam the maximum relative abundance of fish species belonged to Capoeta capoeta, Luciobarbus capito and Squalius cephalus, respectively. These species have different age, length and weight stuctures at Shahid- Rajaei dam inhabitant, and the resourval of this dam and it,s upstream have been preparing auch a favorabile condition that seems there are potentioal of introductionand inhabitant of some of the Migratory and indanger fish species such as Barbels, Sturgeon, Alburnus chalcoides and etc. as genetic reserve for biodiversity preservation.

Studying native fishes of Hamadan province have been done in 159 stations from 51 important water resources (wetland, reservoir, spring, river and qanat) using with electric tool, cast-net, seine and gill-net gears from July 2010 to Oct. 2011 and the main aims were species identifying and determining their distribution and abundance in the studied area. In the study, 33411 fish specimens are caught in 257 times of sampling and selected randomly about 8500 individual and laboratory works showed the fish belong to 37 species from 7 families. Cyprinidae with 25, Nemacheilidae with 6 and Sisoridae with 2 species had the most diversity and Cobitidae, Poeciliidae, Salmonidae and Mastacembelidae had only a representative. 31 fish species were native or endemic and 6 species were alien. Fish species existed in all rivers of Ghezelozan and Sirvan sub-basins but there were not any fish in 10 rivers of Ghara-Chai sub-basin and in 6 rivers of Gamasiab sub-basin, too. Also, it was observe 1-3 fish species in 15 rivers, 4-6 fish species in 10 rivers, 7-10 fish species in 5 rivers and more than 10 fish species in 4 main water resources and Gamasiab sub-basin with 32 fish species was the most diversified and Ghezelozan sub-basin with 2 fish species was the least diversified. There were any species to 4 (mostly 1 or 2) fish species in studied qanats in Ghara-Chai and Gamasiab rivers sub-basins. 23 fish species existed in a subbasin, 12 species in 2 sub-basin, Capoeta capoeta in 3 sub-basin and Squalius cephalus in all sub-basins of studied area. Alburnoides nicolausi,Capoeta aculeata and Alburnus mossulensis have had the most frequency. Studying fish abundance showed Oxynoemacheilus argyrogramma with 17.8%, Garra rufa with 12.3%, A. mossulensis with 12.1% and C. aculeata with 10.2 % of total number of caught fish specimens are dominant. S. cephalus, Capoeta damascina, C. aculeata, C. trutta, Chondrostoma regium and A. mossulensis have had sport fishing value but Acanthobrama marmid, Oxynoemacheilus kiabii, Oxynoemacheilus kermanshahensis, Turcinoemacheilus kosswigi, Alburnus caeruleus and Mastacembelus mastacembelus have biodiversity value for being endemic or having limited habitats in Iran. This is the first report on the C. capoeta infestation with C. complanatum. 112 fish sampled and surveyed for the likely infection with C. complanatum. Using the length group, extent of contamination, sex, infected organs and number of parasites in each organ, various graphs prepared. It was concluded that female Fish were the most infected with decreasing precent of infestation as the body length increased.Gill cavity and pharynx were demonstrated to be the main contaminated areas and ten parasite per fish was the greatest number recorded. Contaminated organs were subject to pathologycal studies. Since birds are the end host sepearted metacer cares were fed to 15 chicks and their maturity stages was investigated at different time intervals in contominated organs. The Taham dam reservoir has been established in order to provide drinking water of Zanjan population as far as 15 km in a mountain region at 1900 meter altitude with a 317 ha surface area. This study was conducted on biotic and a biotic factors in order to recognize of aquaculture possibility within drinking considerations. The results showed the less abundance of phytoplankton with 2 million/l. where abundant of zooplankton was 266 /l. Bacillariophyta and Chlorophyta belong to phytoplankton and Rotatoria belong to zooplankton were dominated among identified plankton phylum. There were identified 45 and 32 genus of phytoplankton and zooplankton respectively. There were identified 5 groups of benthos that Tubificidae, Hirudina had the most frequency, and the biomass of benthos was varied from 1.1 to 23.7 g /m^2. The ichtiology survey showed presence of 6 species in the lake that Alburnoides bipunctatus, Capoeta capoeta, Leuciscus cephalus were the most abundance in the catch. L. cephalus was recorded with the maximum size of 870 g while the most frequent weight class was 150 450 g for C. capoeta,, L. cephalus . Diet survey showed the adequate feeding of fishes in lake also the observation of leech in trout guts was very considerable. The reproduction study displayed that a partial of matured fishes were succeed in breeding. Leuciscus cephalus have been known as a typical species with commercial size and high abundance which will be needed a fisheries management in Taham Lake to sustainable exploitation. The hidrochemical results indicated low nutrients values while total nitrogen was varied from 0.32 to 0.61 mg/l. and the Chl-a was varied from 7.9 to 25.9 μg/l. The oxygen amount was 4.5 to 8.4 mg/l even in 65 meter depths. Total hardness average was about 149 mg/l where the Ca and Mn were measured in a low values. Trophic model in Taham lake showed the early stage of mesotrophy while other lakes and wetlands in north of Iran had been progressed in mesotrophic level.

Investigation of habitat conditions and identification of aquatic species in running waters is of high importance in ecological research. This study was carried out in Aras River on the eastern side of the Azerbaijan province from Jolfa to Aslandooz in 2005-2006. Fish sampling was carried out in seven stations seasonally by an electro shocking instrument. During the sampling, important water parameters including EC, TDS, DO, CO _ (2), pH, alkalinity and hardness were also recorded. Biometrical evaluations on 1365 prey fish showed that 17 species and subspecies belonging to 6 families, Cyprinidae, Balitoridae, Cobitidae, Siluridae, Percidae, Gobiidae were present in the samples. Cyprinidae family was represented by 12 species and subspecies and other fish families had only one representative. Capoeta capoeta with 56.6% had the highes t frequency and was the most dispersed compared to other species in Aras River.

In the years 2001 and 2002, two great floods occurred in the Madarsoo River in Golestan National Park, north-east of Iran. To study the effects of these floods, we assessed the age, growth and reproduction of Capoeta capoeta gracilis (Keyserlhng, 1861) in the river from November 2003 to December 2004. Fishes were caught by electroshocker and 1025 specimens were randomly selected from the catch. Growth in length was expressed for both sexes with Von Bertalanffy equation. Growth parameters were estimated as L infinity =249mm, K=0.22 per year and t _ (0) = -0.30 year for males and L infinity =306mm, K=0.21 per year and t _ (0) = -0.38 year for females. The length-weight relationships were described for males as lnW= -4.48 + 3.03 lnTL and as lnW= -4.59+3.0551 lnTL for females which shows a good feeding condition and a positive-isometric growth. Difference of length distribution between males and females is significant and males have lower lengths because this sex matures sooner so its growth is lower than females. Difference of fish length distribution between this study and previous studies on the C. capoeta gracilis of the river is significant and Lenkoran's length shows great decrease in this study as compared to previous studies. Age of the fishes ranged from 1 ^+ to 5 ^+ for males and 2 ^+ to 8 ^+ for females, the dominant age was 2 ^+ and the mean age was calculated as 2.009 ±0.034. We found that C. capoeta gracilis population had become younger in this study, so we concluded that the floods had made great changes in age and length structure of the fish.

Mako reservoir which is situated on Zangmar River, located in western Azarbaijan province. It has an average area of 800 hectares. There isn't any fishing in Mako reservoir, and the purposes of construction were producing water supply for agriculture use and drinking water. The seasonal sampling were carried out in 5 stations by gillnet methods during 1998-1999. For catching the Capoeta capoeta, gillnet mesh size of 27mm was used. Capoeta capoeta was dominant species (90%) and Carassius aurata gibelio and rainbow trout had the lowest populations. Analysis on based Leslie and Delury methods showed that this reservoir has a range of 9.4-10.7 tons of Capoeta capoeta. By using Gulland method, the MSY estimated 4.5-4.8 tons.One year data collection and analyzing the data showed the average fork length were 23.9±4.3cm, mean weight of 162±68g and the mean age 2.6±0.68 years. Age composition showed that maximum and minimum frequency was in 3+ and 5+, respectively. Infinite length (L∞) and the growth coefficient (k) by using Walford formula computed 35.6 cm and 0.39 per year. Total mortality (Z) of this species determined 0.74. Natural and fishing mortality calculated 0.37 and 0.37, respectively.

Makoo dam lake made up in 1998, to providing agriculture water, prevention of flood water and production of electric power. It is placed in 12 km to south of Makoo city 29° 44' minute E and 39°11' N). Feeding studies occurred by using of fishing gear, include of electro fishing, gill net and beach seine, seasonally. Fish caught was in size range of 27-290 mm and 0.4- 327.7g. Maximum and minimum of feeding intensity was in winter and spring, respectively. Its average was 360, that showed feeding of this fish was approximately optimum in this lake. Whereas maximum and minimum of K-factor was in summer and winter, respectively. C. capoeta is a detritovorous. Therefore, it consumed from so much other food items, a.g. phytoplankton and benthos in this lake. From phytoplankton, phylum Chrysophyta and genus cyclotella from benthos; Chirooomidae and Ephemeroptera have the most important food sources. With attention to limitation of food organisms of benthos, it is not recommended introducing of other benthopelagic fishes in Makoo lake.

During the year 1998 1999 Mako and Mabhabad reservoirs were surveyed by Fisheries Research Center of Guilan province Mahabad Resevoir located at 36 47 N ( Lat ) and 45 , 43 E ( Long ) in western It has an average area of 700 hectares and is mesotroph- that Azarbiajan province chracterized by depletion of oxygen in the bottom during warm months In phytoplankton , Chrysophyta and in zooplankton Rotifera were dominance . There is low diversity of benthic animals in this reservoir and Oligocheata and Chironomidae are two benthic forms that comprise the most populations The fishes of this water body can be categorized in two groups : endemic and exotic . Ichthyofauna of the reservoir and its catchment area comprise 9 endemic species and subspecies and 9 exotic species and subspecies that located in 4 family , Cyprinidae , Balitoridea Siluridea and Poeciiiidae In the reservoir and its inlets and outlets , Cyprinidae is salient component of the ichthyofauna by a figure of 83.3 % . The fishes of this reservoir are ail kind of food zooplanktoniphagous level consumers such as phytoplanktoniphagous benthophagous and picsivorous Parasitic diseases are highly incident among the fishes of this water body and it can be said that fishes of the reservoir are widely infected by the parasitic diseases . The most important waterfowls and seashore birds are that migrate to the reservoir for wintering . The most commercially endemic fish species are Sia mahi ( Capoeta capoeta ) dace ( Leuciscus cepha/us ) and catfish ( Si/urus g/anis ) and commercially exotic species are common carp ( Cyprinus carpio ) Silver carp ( Hypophtha/michthys molitrix ) and Big head (Hypophtha/michthys The annual catch of endemic and exotic species in 1998 were 124 and nobi/is ) Stock estimation showed over exploitation and 111.9 tonnes respectively underexploitation for exotic ( big head and silver carp ) and endemic ( dace and sia mahi ) fish species respectively . Estimation revealed that this reservoir annually can produce 14323 tonnes of silver carp big head and common carp and for achiveing this figuer anoually 394000 fingerlings of mentioned species should be released in this Mako reservoir which is situatd on Zang Mar river was built in 1995 It is 12 Km to Mako city with the geographical identification of 39 11 N ( Lat ) and 49 29 E ( Long ) It is a earth kind reservoir that has a maximum depth of 77 m . The length of the barrier is 210 m and the upper and lower wide of the barrier are 10 and 350 m respectively Three river entred to the reservoir are Ghezet Chay , Emam Gholi and Dibak . The objective of this survey, carried out from March to December 1994, was to study the composition of the fish fauna in Babolrud River, connected to the southern part of the Caspian Sea. The fishes were caught using a electroshocker device from 5 stations allocated to this purpose along the river. The obtained data from this survey indicated that the fish fauna of Babolrud River is comprised of 7 families. Family Cyprinidae with 15 species, including Capoeta capoeta and Carassius auratus, the two dominant species in the river, was the most abundant family compared to the other identified families (Balitoridae, Cobitidae, Gobiidae, Esocidae, Mugilidae and Petromyzontidae) represented only with one species each.
