A case of the abdominal form of Wilson's disease is described in a male patient aged 19 years. The case progressed rapidly and presented rarely observed signs of central nervous system damage. Morphological examination of the brain demonstrated well developed picture of tissue damage characteristic of this disease entity.

The reported case was observed in a 62-year-old female in whom a syndrome of vascular disturbances developed suddenly in the area vascularized by the artery of Adamkiewicz. In the analysis of the pathological mechanism of these changes compression injury, myelitis, pelvic phlebothrombosis were excluded. Thrombosis of the artery of Adamkiewicz due to atheromatosis of the spinal arteries, was diagnosed. The atheromatous process involves the anterior spinal artery in 4% of subjects aged from 60 to 70 years.

Decaris was given for 6 months to 57 patients with clinically reliably diagnosed multiple sclerosis. For evaluating the physical fitness of the patients the 10-point scoring system of Kurtzke was used. The drug was given intermittently to 2 groups of patients in a 14-day cycle of 3 tablets daily for 3 days: and in a 7-day cycle of 3 tablets for 3 days. Each tablet contained 50 mg of the drug. The effects of the drug were evaluated on the course of the disease, dynamics of neurological status changes, and side effects. The progression of the disease process was slowed down, the function of the pyramidal system and labyrinthine-cerebellar systems became normal or improved. Sphincter control was better. The best results were obtained in patients with remitting form of the disease treated in the 14-day cycle.

The reported case was observed in a man aged 53 years with a clinical symptom complex suggestive of Pick's disease. Morphological examination demonstrated cysticercosis of the brain.

The reported case was observed in a patient aged 54 years with disseminated lesions in the central nervous system. The history of the disease covered 18 years with periods of exacerbations and remissions. Seven years after the appearance of neurological signs involvement of the internal organs and skin was noted. In the serum antinuclear antibodies, LE cells and high gamma globulin level were demonstrated. The course of the disease and the observed immunological changes justify the diagnosis of the lupoid sclerosis form of visceral lupus erythematosus.
