We evaluate the usefulness of non-representative registry data such as Orbis in drawing inferences about economic phenomena in Poland. While firm-level studies of economic phenomena are of key policy relevance, census data and representative samples are scarcely available across countries. We obtain estimates of the labour share for the period 1995–2019. For the overlapping period and samples, we compare our estimates to Growiec [2009], who drew on a census of Polish firms employing 50+ employees. We also refer to OECD STAN data. We demonstrate that time patterns are common across data sources. Additionally, we study the potential for various imputation methods to enrich inference.

estombes–Rosai–Dorfman disease—often simply referred to, in the literature, as Rosai–Dorfman disease (RDD)—is a rare, nonmalignant disorder of histiocyte proliferation typically involving the cervical lymph nodes. A subset of patients with RDD, however, display extranodal manifestations highly variable in presentation, more challenging to diagnose, and less likely to spontaneously regress when compared to the nodal manifestations. This study describes the case of a young African male presenting himself with multiple nodules involving the anterior abdominal wall, who was found to have extranodal RDD. The current mode of diagnosis and the clinical management of RDD are reviewed.

Implantation endometriosis following caesarian hysterectomy is not an uncommon entity. Seeding of endometrium within the peritoneum and pelvic organs and the Pfannenstiel incision commonly occur. Post caesarean implantation endometriosis occurrence is determined by several factors. While endometriosis is a morbid disease, which causes pain, dysfunctional uterine bleeding and infertility, it is also a precancerous condition, and efforts should be made to avoid implantation endometriosis during uterine surgery. The object of this article is to present a 30 year old female with implantation endometriosis in a Pfannenstiel abdominal scar and to review the diagnostic facilities available and highlight the premalignant potential of endometriosis.

We present a case of an acute HTLV-1 leukemia in a 33-year-old Grenadian immigrant. Her diffuse skin nodules, and her coming from an area endemic for HTLV-1, namely the Caribbean made the clinical diagnosis of HTLV-1 leukemia/lymphoma more feasible. Her disease was rapidly progressive, she having survived for one month, and fits into the acute classification of ATLL as proposed by Shimyoyama M. Immigrants from areas endemic for HTLV-1 who presents with skin rashes should be investigated for HTLV-1 neoplasms.

Rape and other forms of sexual violence have been inseparably linked with the ongoing military conflicts. Despite the condemnation of war rape in modern times, its penalization arrived extraordinarily slowly. The last twenty years brought about a huge progress in the approach to the penalization of international crimes of sexual nature, which was developed in a hitherto unprecedented range in the jurisprudence of the international criminal tribunals, especially in Africa. The aim of this article is to present the cases of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) which had a significant influence on the penalization of war crimes of sexual nature in the Statute of the International Criminal Court and two trials of the Special Court for Sierra Leone (SCSL), concerning the penalization of forced marriage. It shows how the African juridical traditions contributed to the problem of the penalization of sexual war crimes.
