Článek poskytuje teoretický přehled o udržitelném cestovním ruchu jako o systému cestovního ruchu, který se zaměřuje na kvalitativní rozvoj s ohledem na kvalitu života a prosperitu obyvatelstva, aniž by způsobil škodu v jiných aspektech. Udržitelný cestovní ruch je podskupinou udržitelného rozvoje. V článku jsou uvedeny rozdíly mezi těmito dvěma termíny a dalšími pojmy relevantními pro náš výzkum. Je analyzován rozvoj cestovního ruchu v Kosovu, včetně statistik o finanční podpoře cestovního ruchu kosovskou vládou. Na závěr je představena SWOT analýza současného stavu cestovního ruchu v Kosovu.

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a primary cutaneous neuroendocrine carcinoma. It is a rare and aggressive tumor characterized by a high frequency of local recurrence, regional nodal metastasis, distant metastasis, and a low survival rate. Its diagnosis is challenging due to its rarity and it may be clinically mistaken for other skin cancers. It requires an incisional biopsy and confirmation by histology and immunohistochemical staining. This case illustrates an uncommon presentation of MCC in a 53-year-old young adult in an unexposed area of the right gluteal region. It is a rare cutaneous tumor that should be diagnosed and treated precociously given the aggressive nature of MCC and the limited therapeutic options for metastatic tumors. Herein, we urge physicians to suspect this diagnosis in front of any rapidly growing skin tumor, even in an unusual location, to provide the patient with appropriate treatment and improve the overall survival rate.

Obtaining a viable and fertile beet hybrid resulting from wild and cultivated sugar beet crosses under Moroccan conditions is challenging. To deal with hybridization, barriers in sugar beet, such as concordance of flowering period between biannual and annual subspecies, flowering aptitude according to vernalization requirement, genotype incompatibility and hybrid sterility, should be overcome. In our study, interspecific hybrids were obtained from crosses between 17 cultivated sugar beet Beta vulgaris subsp. vulgaris and 17 Beta vulgaris subsp. maritima, collected in different regions of Morocco. Twenty-two agro-morphological traits were used for the evaluation of 208 hybrid plants, under greenhouse conditions. CH and WH hybrids were collected on cultivated and wild parents separately. Most of the hybrids behaved as annual plants, of which 83.17% were able to flower and produce seeds without any vernalization requirements. All WH hybrids and 57.06% of CH hybrids were morphologically similar to their wild parent. However, 24% of CH hybrids were phenotypically similar to their cultivated parent. The remaining CH hybrid plants were behaving as intermediate genotypes between both wild and cultivated parents. Our results showed the success of interspecific beet crosses and emphasized the high variability among hybrid genotypes. This is of great importance for sugar beet improvement and breeding programs and interspecific crosses patterns understanding.

While the post-colonial approach (Fernández Carbajal, 2016; López-Ropero, 2016) has dominated research on Zadie Smith’s postmodern work, NW (2013), there has been little to no stylistic analysis of the novel. The article aims to fill in this theoretical gap by examining the different modes of point of view, indicating how they are linguistically encoded. Using Leech and Short’s model of narratological aspects of viewpoint (2007), the stylistic features of the third-person narrator and the reflectors are revealed. The analysis seeks to demonstrate that the narrative style varies with each shift of perspective and that the voice of the narrator and the characters’ points of view are linguistically intertwined. The research points out the stylistic metamorphosis of the narrator who moves from mimetic storytelling to metafiction, alternating between the covert narrator who foregrounds the characters’ point of view and the overt one who constantly pinpoints the linguistic identity of the novel. The fusion of form and content becomes the storyline of this novel, where the differences between viewpoints of the narrating voices reflect the differences between their lives.

Mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP), previously known as cicatricial pemphigoid, is the second most frequent autoimmune subepithelial blistering disorder after bullous pemphigoid (BP). MMP has a broad spectrum of both clinical and immunological features, mostly affecting the mucous membranes, mainly the oral and ocular mucosae, but around 30% of cases develop skin lesions, which heal leaving atrophic scars and milia. Herein, we report a patient with widespread vegetating cutaneous and oral plaques, oral erosions, scarring conjunctivitis, and extensive mucosal lesions, who met the immunologic and microscopic criteria of cicatricial pemphigoid vegetans (CPV). The vegetative form of MMP is a very rare entity and, to our knowledge, this is the fifth patient recorded in the global literature. We present the unusual case of a young male who developed CPV possibly caused by chronic and heavy cannabis use and who was treated effectively with rituximab.

This study compares passages from four novels by the renowned Albanian author Ismail Kadare with their English translations: Prilli i thyer (Broken April, 1990 [1980]), Kronika në gur (Chronicle in Stone, 2007 [1971]), Vajza e Agamemnonit (The Daughter of Agamemnon, 2006 [2003]) and Pallati i ëndrrave (The Palace of Dreams, 2011 [1999]). It uses the linguistic analysis of style in the source and the target languages aiming to identify the modification of narrative perspectives during the translation process. The stylistic comparison of the original with translated versions demonstrates the shift from the internal perspective to the narratorial perspective of narration, which may be the result of the translator’s inclination to explain. In Kadare’s novels which have been translated from French, the tendency to make a clear borderline between narrative voices is evident. The translator’s lack of ability to pick out stylistic features indicating the internal perspective of the character impacts the mental representation produced by the reader of the translated text. The shift from the character’s to the narrator’s perspective influences not only the reader’s attitude towards the culture narrated in the text but also the way how the identity of the narrator is construted. Consequently, the imposed narratorial voice in the translated Kadare’s novels gives a different impression from the non-intrusive narration that the author managed to create in the communist regime.
