This paper explores the longstanding debate on whether psychoanalysis qualifies as a science. Grounded in the Brazilian context, where recent publications have revived the debate, I examine the demarcation problem in the philosophy of science, highlighting how traditional criteria for defining scientific knowledge may exclude epistemically fruitful practices, such as psychoanalysis. Drawing on the perspectives of scientific pluralism, I argue for a more inclusive understanding of science, where diverse methods and epistemological approaches are recognized as legitimate contributions to addressing complex phenomena such as mental health. Ultimately, the rigid application of demarcation criteria can obscure the value of psychoanalysis, whereas scientific pluralism offers a pathway for integrating it into broader scientific discourse.

Scientific events are important for maturing and debate about science and as such, it is suggested a reflection on a paradigm shift that seems to be taking place, which is mental health is also health vs the previous paradigm called mental health is health. This change occurs, particularly in this post-pandemic context. We are already in the mental health is health paradigm, without which everything else ceases to make sense, or even to exist. Hence the title of this reflective paper: Doctors save lives; psychologists save existences: mental health 5g? Reflecting on the urgency and speed (such as 5G internet) to implement behavioral changes in mental health, this work was presented as a keynote speaker at the 14th National Congress of Health Psychology (which occurred on 8th-10 th of September 2022). It is hoped to reflect and raise some questions rather than answer them.

The present paper aims to determine firemen social representations of Health, Well Being and Mental Health, using an adaptation of a questionary of conversational notions by Pereira O.G.& Brito S. (2023). Those conversational notions are centered by the three concepts above and peripherally by Stress-Coping and Group Integration.

The mental health of the population has deteriorated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been shown that people with mental illnesses face discrimination and stigma. In this context, communication is an essential tool to make these illnesses more visible and, in particular, cartoons can play an important role. In this paper we analyze 317 cartoons dealing with mental health. We compared the cartoons published before and during the pandemic to see if there were any changes, if stigma was reduced and if journalistic good practice guidelines were applied to the cartoons. The data suggest that more attention has been paid to mental health issues during the pandemic, although many stereotypes and bad practices still dominate the cartoons. Furthermore, graphic humor proves its value as a tool for analyzing current affairs and can also be used to raise awareness of mental health issues.
