The environment that the experimental animal is found should be standardized as it may influence the results of the research. The existing technology, in addition to costly, does not includes in a single device all the necessary specifications for this purpose. To control and standardize, a prototype microenvironment was developed using the Peltier system, which is an alternative method of cooling, with control over temperature, humidity, lighting, and ventilation, and tested in an experimental study, comparing between control and experimental groups the parameters environmental, food and water consumption, and weight gain. They were analyzed by Student's t-test, SigmaPlot program, version 12.5, significance of 5%. The prototype is a differentiated product, far greater and efficient in the control of environmental variables, maintaining its stability, as well providing an adequate atmosphere to house animals and keeping them in a controlled and reproducible environment at low cost, accessible to animal houses and research groups deprived of large sums.
