Commodities are being used as an alternative method of pest control in several regions of the world. These potencies can cause mortality, repellency, inhibition of oviposition, and reduction of larval development, fertility, and fecundity in adults. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of essential oils in the control of the aphid Lipaphis pseudobrassicae in brassicas. The oils used were Mentha arvensis and Mentha spicata. The oils are suitable for the control of the aphid, in relation to the toxicity of an oil of M. arvensis, in the concentration of 7.01 µl mL-1, being more toxic to the essential oils tested, while M. spicata, lethal concentration (LC50) of 21.21 µl mL-1.
