Introduction: Blepharoplasty became the second most frequent aesthetic procedure in the USA, promoting an increase in the patients' quality of life and self-esteem. It is one of the least invasive aesthetic surgeries, and when it is well executed, it is proved to be the best and safest way to have a facial rejuvenation. However, discrete and ephemeral rare surgery complications may occur, like edemas and bruises, amaurosis, is one of the permanent difficulties that may cause a great damage to the patient. Other clinical presentations of these complications are hematomas, oculomotor abnormalities, lagophthalmos, hemorrhages, infections and palpebral ptosis. Methods and Materials: A retrospective revision study of 185 medical records of patients conducted to blepharoplasty from July to December 2016. Results: From the 185 patients, 164 (88,6%) of them were female and 21 (11,3%) were male. The average age handled in this study was 57,6 years. Three cases of postoperative complications (1,62%) were found, making observations in three different patients. Two of the patients (1,08%) suffered from pre-septal infection, and one (0,54%) patient suffered of unilateral palpebral ptosis. Conclusion: The blepharoplasty was proved to be an excellent surgery procedure, safe and with a high rate of patient satisfaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
