FAITH development , *DIGITAL technology , *BAPTIST church buildings , *SHARED virtual environments , *DIGITAL communications - Abstract
The digital network since its creation has been a space for reflection and practice of faith, therefore, a theological and pastoral place. The research seeks to identify the challenges and opportunities for pastoral action in the metaverse, through the case study of LagoVerso, the first Brazilian Christian church in this digital ecology. The article analyzes the characteristics of this environment and investigates its potentialities as one of the new agoras where the Gospel can be communicated. The research used to develop the case study, besides the method of participant observation of two services, an in-depth interview with the developer of the project. Just as the experience of the web affects our living and spiritual habits, the experience of faith impacts the development in the digital communication ecosystem. Based on the presence and practices of Lagoinha Baptist Church in this environment, we seek to raise important questions for “digital evangelization”. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article aims to analyze the contributions of the doctor, Clidenor de Freitas Santos, to Piauí psychiatry in a context of modernization in Teresina (1940-1950), capital ofPiauí. From the bibliographic study and the investigation of sources such as newspapers, reports and chronicles, it is possible to understand how the doctor arrives in the city in a scenario of lack of assistance to the mental health of that population, reforms the administration of the old institution for the treatment of the insane, establishes therapeutic methods hitherto unknown in the region and builds its own hospital, the Meduna Sanatorium, for the assistance of psychotics. With significant contributions, he becomes an important name in Piauí psychiatry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In order to understand recent transformations in part of the Brazilian Christian acoustic panorama, we undertook an ethnographic research in the services of the Brasa Church, a group of young people from the Brasa Baptist Church, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and in the rites of the Catholic Church of Santana, in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro. We attribute centrality to worship, a trend in music and service differently established in these two ritual spaces, as well to the mediations between aesthetics, corporality and acoustics that are articulated in both places, configuring worship as a sensorial form. We aim to explore the contributions of a sensorial anthropology to analyze the construction of the acoustic work in worship, emphasizing the mobilization of bodily sensations and the similarities and differences that characterize this devotional form in these two contexts. From an exhibitions of descriptive narratives of the Tupinambá People social organization in Brazil and from anthropological interpretations, this scientific work takes a critical approach to the presentation of gender relations in the word-village, identifying characteristics of the power coloniality, knowledge and gender that broke the indigenous community web and hid their autonomy. Brings up the creation of gender and race categories as legitimate exercise of power, understanding that the modernity optics remains nowadays through one bourgeois republic matrix. Identifies a reproduction of a modern discourse by the Democratic State, despite the recognition of the indigenous as subjects of the law, proposing one new interpretation of the present problem. Presents the return of autonomy based on pluralism, seeking the recognition of diversity as individuality and collectivity and, as a rupture, intends to fight for the existence of a State that restores its own jurisdiction and the internal community forum, which guarantees the deliberation of the peoples and allow the people themselves to build their historic project. The operationalization of the search is made with a sociological-juridical method, as well as by the analysis of secondary quantitative data and the bibliographic review for the theoretical basis decolonial. This study analyzed the proposals for Integral Education in Extended Time in some municipalities of the Greater ABC Paulista, with regard to Elementary School, early years. For this purpose, a qualitative methodology was used, as from the use of interviews with the managers responsible for the programs in their cities. The results showed a certain character of improvisation, without well-defined guidelines in teacher education, in spaces for the project, in interfaces with other departments, among others. Similarities and differences were identified, between them and with regular education. In the first case, among the goals; in the organization of knowledge, with regular classes and workshops based on the indications of the More Education Program; in inclusive education projects and in teacher education. In the second, in spaces, with some municipalities having exclusive buildings for EIJA and other "little corners" such as half a block, patios, backyards and corridors to organize the workshops. This picture found demonstrates some advances, however, it is necessary to move forward to break and dissociate the proposals from regular education. The data from this study can be used in discussions at universities and in training spaces. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CLUSTER analysis (Statistics) , *FACTOR analysis , *GOVERNMENT policy , *CENSUS , *FARM buildings - Abstract
The modernization of agriculture in Brazil did not occur uniformly between regions; in the South and Southeast, this process was faster than in the Northeast. This study aims to build an Agricultural Modernization Index (IMA) in order to verify the conditions of modernization in northeastern municipalities. We used, for this, data from the Agricultural Census of 2017 and applied Factor and Clusters Analysis to find the indicators associated with agricultural activity and group similar municipalities according to the IMA. The results show that 88.42% of the municipalities analyzed have a low agricultural propensity, and only 0.91% had an index considered good. Thus, government management is expected to invest in public policies that equalize disparities between localities, stimulating the use of irrigation systems, appropriate machinery and equipment, and the increase of areas explored in order to improve the modernization process in the Northeast region. This writing passes through the "reading of experience done" and the moved and moving word of the Project Alma Africana: recognizing the differences, ensuring inclusion, which was born in 2010, based on Law no. 10.639/2003 and by the Resolution no. 01/2004 of CNE/CP. However, the Alma Africana, by force of law (and ancestor), also adapts to CNE/CEB Resolution no. 8/2012, develops in a border teaching unit to the Remaining Community of Quilombo Maloca. As observed, this textual production aims to present and reflect on a successful and, in a way, long-term pedagogical experience, hoping to provoke and initiate other curricular activities engaged with the construction of an anti-racist curriculum. Our expectation is to participate in the struggle aimed at building another school, of another society, of another world, in which any form of exclusion represents a shameful stain. EDUCATION theory , *BLACK people , *EDUCATION research , *OPTICAL illusions , *PHILOSOPHERS , *SCHOOL buildings - Abstract
The article presents the dialogue between the novel "Sabela" by Conceição Evaristo and the ontoepistemological questions produced by the philosopher Denise Ferreira da Silva, in order to create methodological propositions for research in the field of curriculum. Dreams, fictional narratives and the Afro-Brazilian mythological universe inspire the ways of doing research built from the writing tours. Based on the concept of escriptiveness coined by Evaristo and the infinite refractions produced by the abebés of Oxum and Iemanjá, (EVARISTO, 2020) the text invites methodological productions based on epistemologies that refute the universal subject of modern narratives, while pointing to ontologies that do not obliterate raciality. The text questions the use of data as a reference to reality in education research and defends a way of researching for the encounter, based on writing tours. The dialogue between education professionals who recognize the curriculum built at school and its crossings in the racial gear generated questions to the curriculum theory, since the methodological procedures of the field reiterate foundations based on the notion of a transparent subject and on the unequal distribution of the ontological condition, the from the Enlightenment notion of humanity. The text argues that activating writings as a methodological proposal is to point to mirages of endless processes of identity disturbances (DERRIDA, 2001) recognizing the onticide (WARREN, 2021) that crosses the experience of black people, whose integrity remains at risk. Given the contemporary scenario, which seeks to have a careful look at the environment, São Paulo's architecture could think of changes that contribute to the goals stablished by the Paris Agreement (climate change, 2015) and the 2030 Agenda (sustainable development, 2015). In this context, the hospital building stands out for its operating complexity, with a great impact on the environment and resource consumption. The objective of this article is to present and reflect on innovations with sustainability, incorporated in the Oswaldo Cruz German Hospital (HAOC), in the city of São Paulo. Considering this demand for sustainability, the hospital announces its commitment in reducing the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG), as well as proposes into achieve important certifications in the market, such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) in search for better results of performance. The work analyzes the performance of the hospital in the face of the of sustainability challenge, based on bibliographic material on the environmental and contemporary sustainable architecture; booklets and reports published by HAOC to collect data, photos and record the interventions performed at the hospital. The article also analyzes the adherence of HAOC's actions to in reference to the goals of the Paris Agreement and assesses whether its contribution with environment-friendly results because of the complex's architectural scenario. We analyzed the gender and race markers present in the experiences of young black students at a public school. For this, we use the ethnographic approach in order to understand how such markers operate in the process of building the subjectivities of young black women. With this, questions about identity, representativeness and resistance emerged interrelating in the process of building subjectivities, which evidenced the emergence of gender and race markers in the dynamics established in the school context. From this reading, we understand that the experiences of the subjects who transit in the school context reinforce the importance of the school in the process of building subjectivities. COLONIES , *HISTORIC buildings , *SOCIAL space , *SOCIAL reproduction , *PUBLIC spaces , *ZONING ,PORTUGUESE colonies - Abstract
This research aimed to analyze how social relations are reproduced in public spaces in the cities of Cuiabá and Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade during the colonial period. Using the discussions proposed by HENRI LEFEBVRE (1992) on the recognition of urban space as a social product, the approach of this work is based on the perception that the colonial period was responsible for forging in Mato Grosso a society derived from the historical conditions built by the colonization process Portuguese, whose main objective was to ensure the possession of the land and promote the exploitation of the mineral wealth existing in this territory based on the population established there. We also seek to work with the discussions proposed by CERTEAU (2014) whose importance is present in the approach that it carries out on daily life, pointing out that space is a practiced place. We also use the framework supported by SOBARSO (2006) in which the space is perceived as one that carries values of its sociais formation. Thus, we understand that the reproduction of social relationships occurs in the daily exchanges and in the coexistence between the different categories of people who lived and circulated in the colonial territory. SOCIAL injustice , *HISTORIC buildings , *LIBERATION theology , *SOCIAL context , *CHRISTOLOGY , *THEOLOGY , *FEMINIST theology - Abstract
This article investigates how Latin American theology sees the historical Jesus and builds his theology from it, as well as observing the implications for society. To do this, it is necessary to understand what this Historical Jesus is. The Historical Jesus is understood as the result of scientific interdisciplinary research, which is characteristic of the third phase of the research on Jesus, the third quest. Thus, it is noted that Latin American theology welcomes the results of this research on Jesus and from this builds his theology, having an important task, discussing faith and history. In this way, Latin American theologians will understand that the Historical Jesus is the basis of faith, so the starting point for a Latin American Christology must be the historical Jesus. Thus, since the historical observation of Jesus, Jesus is understood during a context of oppression and injustice, which applies his message to these contexts. Considering that the message and life of Jesus is imbued with various social, economic, political, and ideological aspects, the theology presented in Latin America must also be involved in a fight against oppression and social injustice, since the political and social context of Latin America is imbued with various types of oppression, exploitation, and injustice. CHURCH history , *CLERGY , *PURITANS , *BAPTIST church buildings , *BAPTISTS , *CHURCH work with youth , *PREACHING - Abstract
The nineteenth-century British Baptist minister Charles Haddon Spurgeon is considered the "prince of preachers". While still a teenager, he started to preach in an outstanding way and throughout forty years of ministry he proclaimed the gospel to millions of hearers. Thanks to the publication of his vast number of sermons, he is considered the individual with the largest volume of published works in the history of Christianity. Besides preaching vastly, he pastored a church of thousands of members, founded scores of organizations, and kept a voluminous correspondence. A striking trait of his career consisted in the fact that he was an ardent Calvinist, mainly due to the influence of the Puritans, whose writings he read since his childhood. This article starts with the main aspects of Spurgeon's biography, then it stresses the characteristics of his preaching and literary output, and finally it summarizes his thought around three topics: the Bible (the written word), Jesus Christ (the incarnated word), and preaching (the proclaimed word). O This paper presents the architectural characterization of the vertical housing typology in Blumenau diagnosed and evaluated the different typologies of buildings for residential use in Blumenau, their functional approaches and thermal comfort. The work method involved the stages of on-site visits, field survey and project data, post-project analysis and specific analyzes. The analysis of the vertical housing architectural typology was performed in a thirty-four buildings sample in the Victor Konder area neighborhood, in Blumenau, which is in a process of great verticalization. The evaluation identified bigger deficiencies in the functional evaluation criteria if compared to thermal comfort criteria of the buildings. From the total sample, none of the buildings reached the maximum value in the performed evaluation if considering the criteria of thermal comfort and functionality. In the thermal comfort evaluation part, a computer simulation of the thermal performance of a building in the study sample, representative of the evaluated buildings, was performed. The aim of this research is to examine the distribution’s evolution of the industrial sector in the municipalities of Santa Catarina State and its transformations for the years 2002, 2009 and 2016. We used two methodologies to measure the evolution: Principal Component Analysis to build an Industrial Municipal Index (IMI) of Santa Catarina cities, which is used with Spatial Data Analysis. The Moran's I statistics appoint to regions of industrial concentration witch areas are spatially autocorrelated. The results revealed an increase in the IMI average, although in the most industrialized regions there was a reduction, such as in Joinville, Jaraguá do Sul, Blumenau and Brusque. Pedagogical models are systems for organizing teaching and learning practices. Pedagogical models are based on learning theories, government laws in the education area and other guiding documents. Nonetheless, nowadays, features founded in traditional pedagogical models no longer seem to serve their purpose, due to the existence of a new generation of students increasingly connected to the Internet, familiar with digital technologies and, therefore, with low engagement and interest in traditional educational activities, more centered on the teacher and on the transmission and assimilation of the educational content. The goal of this paper is to discuss and analyze different types of pedagogical models, called diversified pedagogical models, identifying important features for the definition of a hybrid pedagogical model that aims guiding teachers in the use of information and communication technologies, active methodologies and learning management systems in a blended learning curricula. For this purpose, a systematic review was performed, such that 14 articles written in English and Portuguese were selected and analyzed. Finally, it was verified in the literature the presence of studies on diversified pedagogical models and it was possible to identify the essential features in order to build a hybrid pedagogical model. In Chapter XVII of the Commentary on the Gospel of John, Eckhart comments on John 17, 3: «Now this is eternal life: may they know you, the only true God, and the one you sent, Jesus Christ». The comment begins like this: «If the beatitude consists of an act of the intellect or the will, it is an old question. From the words above [from the Gospel of John] it seems that it consists essentially of knowledge and intellect». To make his position clear, Eckhart cites some texts by Augustine, for example: De moribus Ecclesiae; Retracticiones; De beata vita and De Trinitate. In our work, we intend to show how Eckhart builds his exhibition from Augustine, focusing on the analysis of Chapter XVII of that comment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

HEAT capacity , *HOUSING policy , *METEOROLOGICAL stations , *THERMAL insulation , *THERMAL comfort , *CITIES & towns - Abstract
Buildings must perform the function of shelter with low environmental impact. Among the parameters for efficient building projects, there are the adaptive thermal comfort models, which impose limits on the daily thermal amplitudes in indoor environments. Between the strategies to provide buildings with adequate levels of thermal inertia are thermal capacity and thermal insulation, aiming to reduce the use of air conditioners and appliances, contributing to the population's comfort and quality of life. Thus, for the correct application of these measures, it is necessary to know the daily thermal amplitudes of the external environments. However, in Brazil, maps of daily thermal amplitudes or levels of thermal inertia recommended by climatic regions are not available. This research aimed to verify the daily thermal amplitudes and the levels of thermal inertia recommended for housing in the state of Paraná. For this purpose, data from meteorological stations installed in 49 municipalities were used, 29 of them in Paraná and the rest in the surroundings of the study area. Analyzes were performed based on different percentiles (99.5, 99, 97.5 and 95), 10 amplitude profiles and two reference values of the maximum recommended daily amplitude for the indoor environment of a building (5 °C and 7 °C). The maps produced allow designers, with coordinates of any location in the state, to obtain the daily thermal amplitudes of reference (external) for the project and the levels of thermal inertia (internal) recommended for houses. RIGHT to education , *MULTICULTURAL education , *PHILOSOPHERS , *SCHOOL buildings , *CITIZENSHIP - Abstract
From the perspective of Spanish philosopher Adela Cortina when points to the existence of civic values, whose incorporation in institutional educational action is very important, this paper aims to propose a reflection about the contribution of values such as freedom, equality, dialogue, active respect, and solidarity to the experience of institutional education in the intercultural dimension. This paper shows relevance because it bases on the conception opposed to the oppression of different cultures that is presented by Adela Cortina and Paulo Freire. It also shows the possibility that a beneficial and healthy relationship can be built in the school space making effectively viable the right to education for migrants. In a first moment, this work will point data of the entrance of immigrants in Brazil and general guidelines of the Brazilian migratory policy regarding the access to the education. Next, from the perspective of Adela Cortina, the concept of intercultural citizenship and the conexion with educational action in the school space will be portrayed. Finally, through the punctual approach of civic values, a reflection will be established on the contribution that these values incorporated to the institutional educational action can offer to promote of fruitful conditions for the development of intercultural citizenship. The goal of this study is to classify energy efficiency, and verify the thermal performance of a vertical multifamily building located in southern Brazil using the Brazilian Regulation for Energy Efficiency Labelling of Residential Buildings (RTQ-R). Furthermore the study aims to verify the adequacy of the method to your requirements. Like this, the research seeks to calculate the thermal properties of materials apply the prescriptive RTQ-R methodology, identify the aspects that led to the results, and propose amendments to raise the building performance rating. Once the method was applied, the building envelope achieved a satisfactory result; more than 90% of the apartments have reached the B level rating in this aspect. In contrast, the low score of the water heating system, consisting only in electric showers, resulted in the achievement of C level in the National Energy Conservation Label (ENCE) of the enterprise. To reach the A level, it was proposed to change the water heating system, as well as the installation of water rationing equipment and install energy-efficient lamps in the autonomous housing units. - Abstract
Thermography is a non-destructive technique that allows the visualization of infrared radiation through visible thermal images. It may take place at great distances from the surfaces under analysis and it may be quite advantageous in sustainability issues of urban rehabilitation. This technique allows, based on the results obtained, the development of new efficient solutions, such as more durable coatings and/or greater insulation capacity, allowing the identification of pathologies that can hardly be detected by other methods. This also allows maintenance to be done timely, without the risk of deterioration. This measurement depends on different parameters that can influence its results, such as emissivity, the camera-surface distance, the observation angle, reflectivity and color. In this case, for building facades, it is also added to the above-mentioned parameters some environmental conditions, as solar radiation and wind predominate. The development of this exploratory study stands out fundamental ly for its practice, from the collection, interpretation and justification of the thermal buildings data. Regardless of the different conditions present on different days, it was possible to identify the constituent materials and record the different temperature patterns, such as the thermal transition between the same materials over the hours, orientation, exposure and different colors, as well as the passage of masses of hot and cold air from inside of buildings to its exterior. This work is relevant to a study of implementing measures for greater urban efficiency in the existent building portfolio and, consequently, achieving greater urban sustainability. This article aims to analyze movie theaters from the theoretical assumptions of sociosemiotics, especially with the competition of theories of the meaning and interaction regimes as defined by Eric Landowski (LANDOWSKI, 2014). For this purpose, the semiotic analysis of the space of a specific cinema room in Rio de Janeiro will be carried out in a detailed way, which was understood as paradigmatic of the situation that is intended to be analyzed, that is, cinema rooms as spaces for cinephile worship. The discussion will be preceded by contextual notes in which the significance of this analysis will be reported at a time when the very nature and exhibition of cinema has been questioned in the traditional format. Other fieldworks worth mentioning concerning contract archaeology are cave evaluations, restoration of the historic building as well as museum consulting. Many issues have emerged along with the growth of research in contract archaeology. One of the most discussed is the research quality and archaeologist’s ethic commitment. Dialogue between archaeologists who work in different research contexts is crucial to the evolution of this debate, especially when social sciences lack governmental funding and seek society acknowledgement. ARID regions , *LEAF area , *FERTILIZERS , *LETTUCE , *VEGETABLES , *COMMERCIAL buildings , *GREENHOUSES , *SCHOOL grounds - Abstract
The use of hydroponic systems by family farmers in the Paraiba semiarid region allows a continuous production of vegetables due to the water limitations typical of this region. However, the difficult access and the high cost of mineral fertilizers is a limiting factor of this practice. In this sense, the objective was to evaluate the potential of the use of bovine anaerobic biofertilizer in the substitution of mineral fertilizers, in the cultivation of lettuce group cv. Cristina. The work was conducted in a greenhouse, installed at the Federal Institute of Paraíba, Campus Sousa. Four doses plus mineral fertilizers were evaluated: Bio + 0%; Bio + 25%; Bio + 50%, Bio + 75%, with four repetitions, in randomized blocks. Leaf dry mass and total mass, total number of leaves, leaf area and yield were evaluated. The reduction of the mineral fertilizer doses compromised the growth and consequently the lettuce production, where the maximum production of the commercial part was 43.0 g plant-1, being obtained with the treatment of 75% of the combination of the most mineral fertilizer doses. SUSTAINABLE buildings , *BUILT environment , *BUILDING performance , *SUSTAINABLE construction , *PERFORMANCE technology - Abstract
Sustainable buildings feature a technology migration that aims to reduce the impact of buildings on the built environment, future generations and their environment. In this sense, environmental certifications can be used as political or marketing instruments in social, economic and environmental development. Therefore, the present study describes the relationship of the LEED certification system in the increase of technology in high performance buildings, focusing on the Brazilian market. The methodology used is a descriptive research. As a result, the study shows that certified buildings have a higher energy performance than conventional buildings. In addition, it reports that the energy performance factor of a building is closely linked to the occupants' behavior. It is concluded that the corporate strategies for sustainable construction in Brazil are concentrated to high-standard projects, since the country has not yet understood the real value of sustainability, which is not only environmental, it has to be technical and economic. PRECAST concrete , *JOB descriptions , *INDUSTRIALIZATION ,BRAZILIAN history - Abstract
The precast concrete systems have been gaining ground in Brazil and in the worldwide. The use of precast structures in multi-storey buildings is already a worldwide reality, but in Brazil, its use is still scarce. This work addresses the characteristics of a precast structure project. The need for industrialization of the Brazilian civil construction is discussed, as the history of the precast in Brazil and in the world and also some possible structural systems for precast concrete. The efficiency, some features and some advantages associated to the precast braced structural cores system are analyzed, on the distributions of efforts among the structural elements and mainly on the facility of the links between the structural elements, in addition to present fundamental concepts placed in the use of precast elements. URBAN trees , *SPECIES diversity , *QUALITY of life , *COMMERCIAL buildings , *TREE planting - Abstract
Trees in the streets are a characteristic of city infrastructure and should be planned and administered together with other urban components so that the population's life quality could be maintained at satisfactory levels. Current study evaluates the trees on the streets in downtown Maringá PR Brazil. A quality-quantity census was undertaken in which the trees were identified by taxonomy and bibliography, coupled to the characteristics of plantation sites, root system, top coverage and trimming. Results indicate 1,758 tree samples from 57 species, predominantly sibipirunas (36.6%), tipuanas (20.4%) and alecrim (15.8%). Further, 33.2% of the trees were planted in plots. Root system was evaluated and revealed that 30.0% of trees broke the sidewalks. It was also verified that 20.0% of top covers negatively interfered with buildings. Data on pruning and trimming revealed that 19.0% failed to show any trace of pruning. Results show that the richness of vegetal species in the study area is high but badly distributed. There are more negative impacts of tree top covers on buildings in commercial zones. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present article identifies the geographic, economic and social combinations that were responsible for the formation of the identity of the municipality of Canoinhas and its importance for the formation of the architectural patrimony. For this, the concepts of territory, identity and architectural patrimony are worked as a fundamental theoretical reference. Based on ancient structures and processes, in natural, economic and social combinations, which are composed of endogenous and exogenous elements, a technical-productive structure was generated, based on production forces and social relations linked to the extractivism of mate grass and wood. This structure, among others, was directly responsible for the spreading, in the urban landscape in the municipality of Canoinhas, of the architectural heritage of wooden buildings. HOUSING , *URBAN planners , *MODERN architecture , *HISTORY , *ARCHITECTS , *ADAPTIVE reuse of buildings - Abstract
To speak about collective housing is always a challenge for architects and urban planners, since this housing profile requires a broad, anthropological, historical and physical study of the place of insertion. And few people are questioning about the surroundings of these buildings, the lives of local residents and how these buildings affected that neighborhood. Within this thought, together with sustainable issues, a theme discussed intensely in recent years, this research emerged. It worked within themes such as the five architectural pillars presented by Le Corbusier and several national and international collective housing, whose buildings were designed by renowned architects and urbanists. And through this study, it was be possible to discover and understand the role of the architect and urbanist as a physical-social modifying agent of an environment or society, so that the new space generated positively approached the relationship between man and the inhabited environment. PRESERVATION of books , *LIGHTING design , *LUMINOUS flux , *SHELVING for books , *SCHOOL buildings - Abstract
The importance of the environmental comfort perceived by the user has been the object of a recurrent study and shown as guiding projects for the most diverse uses, especially in school buildings. Within this context, the aim of this work was to evaluate the visual comfort of the Unimep library, at Santa Bárbara d'Oeste campus, comparing data obtained through illuminance measurements with the result of questionnaires applied to users. The physical characterization of space was the first step, including the survey of dimensions of the building, the openings and the solar protections as well as arrangement of furniture, luminaires and lamps. Later, illuminance measurements were performed both in winter and summer while users answered a questionnaire. It can be concluded that the current natural and artificial lighting system does not meet NBR 8995-1/2013; however, the users' perception is of a "clear" environment with no glare points. This does not dispense an improvement in lighting design, through table lamps and light shelves. Regarding the conservation of the books, it is noticed direct incidence of light rays of the lamps in the material. In this way, it is recommended to attach shelves on the top of bookshelves. Health buildings have a high level of complexity in all its aspects. Hospitals, in constant evolution since they ceased to be treated as spaces of isolation for patients, today have their focus on health care, not disease. With this in mind, the present work aims to present the author's Final Graduation Work, where research was developed to justify and prove numerically the deficit of hospital beds present in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas and later, to propose the design of a hospital building that would mean on average 200 beds of hospitalization, work with recurrent and necessary guidelines in a project of such size and use and that also, aided in the healing process. The result was the Bernardo Klopfer Hospital, which will have its research method and result as an architectural project presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LUTHERAN doctrines , *MODERNITY , *NINETEENTH century , *PROTESTANTISM , *CHURCH buildings , *DOGMA - Abstract
One of the most common mottos related to Lutheran theology can be found in the slogan "sola Scriptura". This motto, which together with other similar ones was transformed in the 19th century into a type of synthesis of Protestantism, needs to be affirmed in face of a double challenge. On the one side is the tradition of the Christian Church and of the respective churches. Would the recourse to tradition be thrown out by the affirmation of the exclusiveness of the Bible? On the other side we find modernity, with its questionings not only of the dogmas, but of Scripture itself, questionings which are directed to it not only "from the outside", but, maybe in an even more impactful way, "from within", for example through a historical-critical exegesis. This article dialogs with "tradition" and "modernity" and seeks indicators for a critical-constructive relation of the watchword "sola Scriptura" with both of them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this Editorial, we articulate the ideia that the "reformation" of the Christian Church, in Martin Luther's original understanding of it, is a work of God alone. We emphasize that, in the intention of the Reformator, the task of the Christian community is the effort for "improvements". The division of the one and holy Church was not at all the purpose of the Lutheran Reformation. We suggest that "reintegration" to the one and true Catholic Church can only be a work of God as well. The view of Luther as a heretic and an excommunicated seems to be outdated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SUSTAINABLE buildings , *MARITAL status , *SCHOOL environment , *AGE groups , *SUSTAINABLE development - Abstract
The concern with sustainable development translates into rethinking the universities in order to make them models of sustainability. Addressing the theme of sustainability means dealing with people's attitudes and actions. People (individuals) are agents of sustainability; studying behaviors and skills for sustainability becomes important in identifying which factors promote sustainability and which need to be addressed. Based on this, the objective of this study was to present the correlations between behaviors and skills for sustainability and to identify the differences related to factors such as: gender, age, marital status, schooling, income, category, duration of employment in the institution and in the exercise of managerial position. The research is quantitative, based on a non-probabilistic sampling for the convenience of federal public servants of the institution. The findings show a positive correlation between the two constructs, with respondents presenting higher behavioral indexes than competence, and differences between gender, age group, schooling, income, and institution time. Behaviors and competencies for sustainability are fundamental in the construction of a Green University. From this, it is necessary to discuss feasible ways of encouraging sustainability in educational environments so that, in this way, sustainability is raised to every society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This work had as main objective the study about the verticalization process in the Camobi Neighborhood, Santa Maria, RS, in the year 2017. For this, was realized a bibliographic survey, regarding the thematic in question, as well as other processes linked to the theme. The second phase it concerns of data collect of buildings, performed totally on the spot, through 5 fieldworks. We identified that the buildings distribution forms a big concentration around the UFSM, being possible observe their evolution as from the University reproducing through the "Faixa Nova" and "Faixa Velha" as between the two bands reducing at the Avenue João Machado Soares. Therefore, despite be a recent process, initiated in the 90's, the verticalization develops quickly and concentrated in the Neighborhood, with their buildings primarily dedicated to dwelling and specially concentrated in the central area, mainly around the UFSM. The verticalization in the Camobi Neighborhood space develops with the same primordial tendency of habitation, beyond the spatially concentrated pattern, however, with what can be understood by a tendency to construction of higher buildings in allowed areas, as the corridor of urbanities. PROTESTANT churches , *ACTION research , *EVANGELICAL churches , *STRATEGIC planning , *CHURCH buildings - Abstract
Currently, there is an intense competition for space between Brazilian Protestant churches, many of them imbued with a strong expansionist vision. In this scenario, taking the right strategy can make the difference between success and death. However, despite the obvious contribution that the Strategic Planning (SP) could add, there is exiguous literature focused specifically on the process of its implementation in Brazilian protestant churches. Thus, this paper describes a SP implementation process on a typical Brazilian protestant church. The research method adopted was the Action Research, chosen by its ability to induce the direct involvement of the researcher with his object of study, generating a comprehensive phenomenon observation. The achievements attest, for similar conditions to this research, the feasibility of the model used for SP and its way of implementation described here. The relevant elements for success and effectiveness of SP, both internal and external to the church, are also presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Watersheds are undergoing modifications in their natural cover that affect their surface physical properties, such as the radiation emissivity. To analyse this phenomenon, satellite images were used to interpret the land occupation by urban buildings in the basin of the river Una, São Paulo. The influence of the identified areas on the behaviour of the radiation emitted by the identified urban zones was then estimated. For this purpose, the Stefan-Boltzman law was applied by geoprocessing Landsat 8 images. The anthropic impact of the buildings was identified when the increase in the radiation emission in the basin was observed, in contrast to that of the preserved natural areas. As a result, conditions were observed that could affect the greenhouse effect that regulates the temperature of the biosphere. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article does an analysis of the Santa Cruz Documentary, filmed in 1999, which portrays the development of a small Pentecostal church which operates in Santa Cruz, a poor community in Rio de Janeiro. The Documentary, directed by João Moreira, accompanied the development of the church "House of Prayer Jesus is the General", during one year and registered various moments of this small ecclesial community. The goal of this text is to observe how the religious interaction of these people and their relation to the Popular Reading of the Bible generate concrete social benefits in their own lives and in the whole community, thus answering the question: What is the impact caused by an active Evangelical church? To do this, a dialog was established with authors such as Antonio Gilberto, a Pentecostal theologian, and Friar Carlos Mesters, who did extensive research on the Popular Reading of the Bible.
