This work aims to verify the effects on the production and commercialization of agricultural products from the creation of family farming fairs in rural commu-nities in the city of Cedro-CE in the year 2021. Methodologically, the results were obtained through data primary data with the application of a semi-structured questionnaire to the exhibitors of the family agriculture fairs, and secondary data. Data analysis was based on the methodological contributions present in the diag-nosis of agrarian systems (DSA) and participatory rural diagnosis (DRP). Accor-ding to the results, the socioeconomic profile shows that most exhibitors are over 50 years old. The conclusion of the research indicates the need for new projects that contribute and strengthen the economic and social aspects of the exhibitors of fairs in rural communities in the city of Cedro.

Since 1960, agricultural production has developed through the interior of Brazil. Until 1997 the results showed that the production and export of grains were concentrated by the Arc Sud region. In 2017, Arc Nord already represented 21 percent of the exported volume, or 91 million tonnes, and 59 percent of the production, which reached 212 million tonnes. Mato Grosso has become the largest producer of grains in the country, which has influenced the spatial dynamics of cattle, chickens and pigs productions, which have moved to the North Arc. Brazil's logistics infrastructure is vast; however, concentrated on highways (61 percent). In this regard, public policy in terms of logistics infrastructure consists of emphasizing public and private investment in Arc Nord, intensifying the program of concessions on private initiative, improving the storage system and its integration with types of transport modes to promote greater integration of agricultural production into consumer markets.

ABSTRACT: Even in areas of predominance of Caiuá sandstone, with soils of low natural fertility that are highly susceptible to erosion and degradation processes, farmers have adopted systems with little diversification, because they believe that they provide a greater economic return. However, agricultural practices such as crop rotation can bring agronomic benefits in terms of conservation agriculture, in addition to economic gains, circumventing edaphoclimatic difficulties in the region. In this context, the objective of this study is to verify whether no-till crop rotation systems are economically profitable, in a Caiuá sandstone area in the northwest region of the Brazilian state of Paraná. To this end, an experiment was conducted in the municipality of Umuarama, state of Paraná, in the crop year 2014/15 to 2016/17. The experimental design used random blocks, with four treatments and four repetitions. The treatments consisted of four crop rotation systems, involving wheat, black oats, canola, safflower, rye, crambe, beans, maize, fodder radish, soybean, sorghum, lupin beans, buckwheat, and triticale cultivars. Crop yields, operating costs, income, and net farm income were assessed. From the results, it was reported that the highest income was obtained in the systems that adopted the largest number of winter and summer commercial crops. Only one treatment was profitable, that is, it had a positive net farm income. This scenario may be associated with the fragility of the region’s soil, which having low fertility, requires a high investment in fertilization and liming to ensure adequate production.

Brazil is the world's largest producer of sugarcane, product with history and importance in the Brazilian agribusiness. The State of São Paulo is responsible for 50% of Brazilian production. Harvested area is estimated at 4.25 million hectares. The metropolitan region of Ribeirão Preto, in São Paulo, is the largest sugarcane producer in the country, accounting for 25% of São Paulo production. In the domestic market, the profitability of sugarcane production at the mills, as well as the market price, are impacted not only by production costs, but also by the costs of land leasing to local owners. The landowners of sugarcane farms have the flexibility of sugarcane production, or to lease the area to the mills. In scenarios of high costs and low productivity, such as 2018/2019 harvest, there was an increase in contract lease cancellation by the mills. In the previous harvests (2016/2017), the increased demand for lease contract was correlated to an increase in land productivity and more competitive lease prices. The flexibility between production and leasing in rural properties is well known by the sector's agents, but it needs to be appropriate addressed using decision analysis methods. This type of decision under uncertainty can be properly conducted by Real Options Theory. Thus, in this study, is proposed a model to evaluate the managerial decision of sugarcane production by the landowners, using the land was previously leased to the mills. In the model, the sugarcane price in the domestic market of Brazil (açúcar total recuperável - ATR) is considered the main uncertainty of the project. The model was applied to the valuation of a rural property in Ribeirão Preto, in the state of São Paulo. The results show that the option to start the sugarcane production once the land was previously leased, adds 5.17% to the future cash flow of the landowner in present value, which represents an increase of US$ 1.7/t. The main contribution of the study is the decision model, which allows evaluating the impact of managerial flexibility of landowners on agribusiness in Brazil. The landowners using real options approach for decision making, can optimize their resources.

This paper intends to be a reading about the female participation in the economic, social and family life of São Tomé and Príncipe's Roças (fields), from 1950 to 1999. A time interval that, includes two important moments of the country's history. The first, under colonial domination and the second, that comes after the independence of STP and extends until 1999, to try to understand the true place and role of female servant and later rural worker in the Agricultural economy. From 1950 to 1975, it is proposed to unveil the importance of women in the productive sphere, especially in cocoa plantations in a colonial society, whose social division of labor was marked by sexual orientation and excessive appreciation of male supremacy. From 1975 to 1999, a number of events took place in Sao Tome and Principe, including national independence, nationalization and subsequent privatization of farms, the 1st Structural Adjustment Program (PAE), the democratic opening in 1990, the economic liberalization, the reform of the financial system and the institutionalization of the Central Bank in 1992. These events changed the status of the Islands and the servants, and also changed the attitude of women in society and the way of acting and thinking of San Tomean in general. In this way, through the bibliographic and documentary analysis and the use of life stories and interviews with ex-servants and people linked to the agricultural sector in the period under analysis, we intend to deepen the knowledge about our object of study and inquire, along the way. from the period under observation, whether the postcolonial rise of female servants to agricultural workers was merely a designation, or if indeed new paradigms and models of women's participation were instituted that implied equal rights and wages for the same work. Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) Organic production is recent in Brazil, starting in the 1970s, at a time when conventional production already had several credit incentives and was expanding. Brazilian agriculture has great representativeness in the world trade and, every year, the organic market conquers new consumers and has been increasing its revenue, generating more demand for production. The objective of this work was to evaluate the difficulties and potential of organic agriculture in Brazil and to carry out an economic feasibility analysis in an organic vegetable production in the metropolitan region of Sorocaba, SP. To achieve the first objective, a bibliographic review on organic agriculture was carried out in databases of scientific journals, through searches for keywords that make up the study area. As difficulties, we highlight the inadequate infrastructure and lack of knowledge about organic cultivation. The characteristics of organic production, such as multiproduction, generate difficulties in the elaboration of financial and economic projects and shortages of labor in the field and lower yields in the production of vegetables, compared to conventional ones. The issues that promote organic agriculture are the growth of consumption, the existence of certification, Public Policies and scientific research that promote the modernization of practices in organic agriculture, improving efficiency in production. The economics analysis was based on an annual cash flow for the case study, from which the economic indices Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Simple and Discounted Payback. A five-year planning horizon was considered. Sensitivity analysis was also carried out for commercialization values and yield rates of vegetables. It was observed that the project was economically unfeasible when considering the cost of land acquisition as an initial investment. However, it was feasible if conducted through land rent. In this scenario, there are vegetables that, depending on the sale prices and (or) the income values, can make the enterprise economically unfeasible. With the simulation of an increase in the yield rate of vegetables, alone or in combination, the project was less sensitive to the variation in selling prices. In addition, the increase in yield rate would increase the NPV value by 163.48%, the IRR by 22% and the Cost Benefit Ratio by 10% and reduce the return on investment value by almost one year. It is concluded with this work that the economic viability of the production of organic vegetables on a medium scale depends on the initial investment, especially in the acquisition of land, the type of vegetables produced and the yield rate for commercialization.

The study was directed to find elements in the organization of the family agroindustry and how the producers intend to consolidate in the market. We found positive points, as well as several obstacles or problems for its implementation. It was also of great importance to highlight the alternatives for overcoming problems, since the industrialization of agricultural products is part of the local culture and of the productive process of the farmers, which generates a significant income. From this perspective, this paper undertook a comparative analysis in the organization of agroindustry, emphasizing two situations, the first one revealing the moments before the adequacy of fruit pulp production and a second one during the process of its readaptation. The research engages aspects of the Brazilian economy, once it has as a main frame the valorization of the small family agroindustry, its historical process and its diversity of products. The objective of this work is to systematically analyze the process of the family agroindustry in the city of Cajazeiras, considering the modes of production and the concepts related to its sustainable growth. The concepts of agribusiness and sustainable development are addressed in the direction of strengthening the national economy, be it in creating jobs or even securing natural resources for the next generations. The research has a methodology that ensures the results about the process, through several aspects; among the most important is the bibliographical survey on the subject, as well as its legislation. The application of a checklist allowed this research to have practical and relevant results, which gave to the researched agroindustry a sustainability aspect. With the results of the research we can verify that agribusiness, when it is used in an efficient way, will allow a greater income, besides creating markets for local development. The final considerations reveal the need to support family farming, mainly in order to have harmony and rationality in the natural resources that are used.

This paper aims to analyze the history of Rural Social Security, as well as the structural imbalance of the social security system. The influence of social security spending was studied considering the national agricultural scenario and its complexity. In 2017, the rural pension balance closed in debit of R$ 110.7 billion, the highest value since 2003. With the aging of the Brazilian population, retirement rules may become progressively incompatible with the new demographic reality. In addition, in Brazil, most of the rural beneficiary population is defined as a special insured, which means receiving retirement without having contributed compulsorily. Unlike the urban population, most of the rural benefits were granted through legal proceedings, which expresses the fragility of the system. It is believed that there was an expansion of social security expenditures without the direct link with the performance of activities in the field. When regionalized the study, it is noticed that a great part of the rural benefits were concentrated in the Northeast, region that comprises 60% of the extreme poverty in the rural environment. Thus, the article reinforces the need to separate what is welfare policy from what is social security planning of a contributory nature.

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico Most of the literature about the productivity of the agricultural sector has pointed to an inverse relationship between farm size and land productivity, which could induce land reform policy toward raising the productive performance of the entire sector. However, recent results have been contradictory, especially when we take into account the omission of relevant variables and the using more complete measures to represent the productive performance of agriculture. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between technical efficiency and farm size, considering different classes and area efficiency levels in rural Brazil in 2006. Furthermore, the study also identified the main determinants of productive performance properties when different levels of efficiency are considered. To this end, we used the Stochastic Frontier Approach for productive efficiency scores and the method of Quantile Regression to verify the impact of size, the total financing, irrigation and other variables, considering different levels of efficiency. The data used refer to a special tabulation based on microdata from the agricultural census in 2006. Among the results, it was found that, in fact, partial measures of productivity are inconclusive for the analysis of the impact of farm size on productivity. However, when used the productive efficiency of farms as a measure for total factor productivity, was identified a positive and non-linear relationship between size and efficiency. Moreover, as it was considered more efficient producers groups, this relationship became weaker, indicating that these producers would be less dependent on the land factor. Regarding the determinants of efficiency, access to irrigation technology, technical assistance, presence of storage unit on the farm and association in cooperatives were the variables that most contributed to raise the productive performance, especially in the case of less efficient producers. These results suggest that policies that increase the supply of such resources and services viii would be critical for increasing productivity of farms and reduce inequalities between large and small producers in Brazilian agriculture.

Abstract: In Algeria, agriculture continues to suffer from short-term strategies and is unsuitable for the needs of populations and rural areas. This study examines the evaluation of the Agricultural and Rural Program (ARRP) initiated in Algeria for the period (2009-2014). This work was carried in the Ouarsenis area located in the north-west of the country. It is based on regular monitoring on the ground of the rate of achievement of the targets foreseen. We concentrated our efforts on the projects financed by the main intervention funds of this program. The results achieved are far from the targets for the economic component, a situation mainly expressed by the low income of the rural population and the number of jobs created. However, an improvement in the living conditions of the population was recorded in the social component. Concerning the environmental aspect, the results are considered acceptable for the restoration of the forest patrimony and low for the protection of the soil. We believe that this policy rests on foundations that have not really been translated into the field in the continuity of previous approaches and lack of governance with poorly managed material, financial and human resources.

The theme of technological innovation has gained increasing prominence in this capitalist, globalized and competitive scenario from the beginning of the XXI century. The development of technological indicators from patent documents is essential for decision-making more rational and sustainable about technology management. This study aimed to develop patents indicators in nanotechnology applied to agribusiness. The paper brings an analysis about the impact of the Rural Territorial Tax on the composition of the municipal taxes, during the period 1995-1997, in the villages Bragança Paulista, Franca e Porto Ferreira, of the São Paulo state. The work was done based on the tax legislation in that period and compares collections and projections according to the values of the land without any agricultural utilization, cited by Agricultural Economy Institute and supplying Secretary of São Paulo, and indicates the profiles of tax evasion when the Federal Collections Secretary doesn t establish the minimum value of the land without agricultural utilization to be declared by contributor.
