With the growing development of computing, the world is witnessing the emergence of new technologies capable of directly impacting people's daily lives, in addition to the most diverse areas of the market, such as: economy, industry, and services. Faced with this context of technological advances, the concept of Industry 4.0 emerges, in which the widespread use of sensors and the autonomous exchange of data between devices enable the creation of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), whose main characteristic is the virtualization of the manufacturing environment, allowing greater control and monitoring of processes. However, this new Industrial Revolution brings with it new challenges. In this way, we carried out a Systemic Bibliographic Review to address the main concepts related to Industry 4.0, as well as to identify the main difficulties of implantation of these new technologies in the industry. To carry out the research, we used the following search engines: Science Direct, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, and Scopus, using keywords concerning the Fourth Industrial Revolution and related technologies. We perform a critical analysis of the bibliographic material to identify the main challenges related to the implementation of Industry 4.0 in companies. The preliminary results showed that the main problems faced are the lack of information security, lack of integration between the development and implementation processes of the algorithms, complexity of data compilation, and high cost of implementation. Abstract: Advanced Manufacturing or Industry 4.0 concepts bring new advances and challenges to current industrial processes. Such concepts are not always well understood and their results in terms of production performance may not be clear. This work proposes a comparison between a traditional manufacturing process and an advanced manufacturing process, both modelled by a multiagent society. In the traditional manufacturing simulation, the agents follow the defined times of each process, including the maintenance times. In the advanced manufacturing simulation, the decision about when to stop a piece of equipment for maintenance is defined by the agent according to data received from sensors and the definitions of the process. The results indicate a significant improvement in equipment usage and consequently higher production in the same time interval. The process simulation clearly indicates that the application of advanced manufacturing concepts in industry is relevant in order to increase the efficiency of production processes. Among the main concepts introduced in advanced manufacturing models are the Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The models generated are computationally simulated using an agent-based simulation method from the software AnyLogic. The results obtained should contribute to encouraging small and medium sized enterprises to adopt the concepts of Industry 4.0 in their businesses.

URBAN planning , *URBAN growth , *ARCHITECTURAL designs , *CIVIL engineering , *SMART cities , *CYBER physical systems - Abstract
According to the Estatuto da Cidade (Federal Law N°. 10,257/01), municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants must have their growth regulated by the Master Plan, which establishes physical order, planning of the city and directs investment priorities. The image of the city is the result of the master plan, showing the importance of planning tools. However, it come as laws, texts, decrees, and other written ways, which sometimes become difficult to communicate. The present moment of the computational technology allows the elaboration of a set of systems that help the planning activities and understanding of the phenomena of the cities physical growth. This study intends to organize data related to urban planning legislation and show them through virtual simulators. Users are able to verify and understand the application of regulatory plans, how the restrictions and permissions to the buildings work, and to visualize the application of these rules in a terrain and / or urban clipping in parametric form. Municipalities and planners, AEC professionals and the population can use the products elaborated from this research in general, as well as teaching / learning tools in architecture and urban planning courses, civil engineering among others in this area. Embedded systems are particularly vital in the transition to a more connected world. They differ from traditional information systems by a series of factors, largely influenced by proximity (intersection) with the "real world". In general, computer programs can be seen, or rather, constructed from two perspectives: either from a computer-oriented view, or through computation-oriented abstractions. With regard to embedded software, the domain of the first class of thinking is clear. The recent flaws, however, propose a paradigm shift, believing that current methods are not enough to deal with contemporary difficulties. Rust, even though it is a systems language, aligns with the second thinking trend. Based on static verifications, and some dynamic validations, this language gives the developer the possibility to create trustworthy solutions. Rust combines techniques that until then were restricted to search languages in a surprisingly ergonomic and efficient way. The present work, based on computation models pertinent to the scope, explore the use of this language in the context of microcontrolled applications. After a brief introduction, the contribution is presented, a hardware abstraction library, in Rust, built for the purpose of translating "mechanical" properties of the hardware into secure abstractions into software. Then, mechanisms to control the complexity coming from the physical nature of these applications are explained. A “timer-wheel” timing model and two high-level software building standards, complementary to the low-level model (tasks and resources) preached by the RTFM framework (Real-Time for The Masses) are the other contributions of this work. In short, the techniques presented here were designed to adapt the Rust language to the characteristics of embedded applications. The result is more reliable and secure software. Industry 4.0, or advanced manufacturing, is promoting a new industrial revolution through the integration of computing and communication technologies. The development of Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) and the use of the Internet of Things and Services can be seen as key to the development of this new revolution. As for Cyber Physical Systems, the 5C architecture is one of the most relevant in the literature, but only lists the functions necessary to build CPS, without giving further development and implementation details. On the other hand, the use of Single Board Computer (SBC), already finds applications in industrial control of consumer electronics, medical instruments, network communication, automobiles and other portable devices. The main objective of this work is to classify SBC devices that support implementations that meet the requirements of Industry 4.0, more specifically as hardware platform for the 5C architecture. This classification is made from the definition of a minimum set of functions that these devices must offer so that they can be integrated into a network of CPS devices. A case study demonstrates what these minimum functionalities are and the use of some SBCs within these conditions.
