ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the concept of sexual dysfunction in postpartum women and identify their essential attributes, antecedents, and effects. Method: Concept analysis based on a framework by Walker and Avant, elaborated in eight stages, which were: concept selection; identification of the use of the concept; determination of essential attributes; construction of the model case; additional case; identification of antecedents and effects; and definition of empirical references. Furthermore, an integrative review was carried out simultaneously, with a view to supporting the analysis of the concept. Results: The sample consisted of 55 studies included in the integrative review. 3 essential attributes, 38 antecedents and 6 effects were identified. The most prevalent antecedents were: perineal laceration, depression, and breastfeeding. Dyspareunia, decreased sexual desire, and altered sexual satisfaction were the main effects. Conclusion: The concept indicates that the diagnosis involves multifactorial conditions that affect the sexual response cycle, limiting the woman's ability to perform satisfactory sexual relations in the postpartum period.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the concept of “youth.” Methods: This is a concept analysis guided by the method proposed by Walker and Avant, operationalized through an integrative literature review. The search in scientific databases was carried out using the descriptors: youth; young; adolescence. To compose the literary corpus, 22 studies were selected. Results: Various factors were found in the antecedents that influence the separation of youth groups, contributing to the heterogenization of this population. The attributes include characteristics that comprise the formation of youth groups, especially the idea of shared experiences and social construction, as well as the consequences of the mentioned concept. After systematizing the variables, the analysis was conducted, highlighting the conceptions that influence youth. Conclusion: The study demonstrated the multifactorial complexity of the formulation of the concept of youth, highlighting various factors that contribute to this construction. For nursing, this conceptual field allows for an understanding of the population and effective engagement with this group.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to develop a middle-range nursing theory for care in the context of cardiovascular risk. Methods: a theoretical development study, through induction through research and ICNP® practice standards, carried out in six stages: concept analysis; ICNP® terminological subset structuring; theory contextualization and purpose; proposition construction; modeling; and assumption construction. Results: the Theory of Care in the Context of Cardiovascular Risk has a middle-range scope, describing care, prescribing actions to promote health and reduce cardiovascular risk. Thirteen propositions were constructed in three categories (nursing metaparadigm, central and factorial concepts), two models and 16 assumptions. Final Considerations: the theory contributes to the construction of knowledge arising from the nursing process for care in the context of cardiovascular risk, generating propositions, assumptions and modeling, which will enable theoretical testing.

Objective: To map the methodological path of the elaboration of operational definitions for nursing diagnoses based on the scientific literature. Methods: Scope review based on the Joanna Briggs Institute protocol. Databases: Searches carried out in the BDENF, CINAHL, MEDLINE®, LILACS and Web of Science databases. Original studies that described the method for developing operational definitions of nursing diagnoses were included. The identified studies went through a screening, eligibility, and inclusion process. Subsequently, the methodological paths for the construction of operational definitions were extracted and synthesized. Results: Of the 11 studies included, five methodological paths were identified for the elaboration of operational definitions. Most did not use a reference for the construction, but all definitions were elaborated in defined stages. Conclusion: To choose a path for the construction of operational definitions, nurses must initially identify the type of study: to propose or validate new nursing diagnoses, mainly use concept analysis. For studies on structuring ICNP® diagnoses or Terminological Subsets, one can resort to the operationalization of concepts. The process of building operational definitions can be carried out through steps based on a theoretical framework, supported by the scientific literature in the health area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study addresses some theoretical and practical implications of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) for the development of pedagogical work in the field of early childhood education. Starting from an analysis of the state of the art with regard to the difficulties of teachers and students for educational action in this instance of basic education, it indicates elements for the debate that are aimed at explaining the problems listed and forwarding a process of constitution of learning subjects in early childhood education. This is a bibliographical research and documental analysis whose results show the difficulties of the basic school culture for overcoming the handling of didactic situations still strongly marked by the disregard of cultural diversity, by the association of models and by the dichotomy between caring and educating. It points to the theoretical construct of the cultural-historical perspective as a search for guidance for the realization of a broad process of production of meanings and negotiation of meanings of teaching and learning, in general, and Mathematics, in particular.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the concept of elder abuse and identify its respective antecedents, attributes and consequents. Methods: this is a conceptual analysis according to Walker and Avant’s proposition. The search for the concept was mediated by an integrative review in the LILACS, PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science and BDENF databases. Results: as antecedents, female, family member, low social support and low income or socioeconomic conditions stand out. Attributes were threats and/or intimidation, intentional use of physical force, using resources without authorization, unwanted sexual activity, offering low insufficient amount of nutrients for older adults and not meeting older adults’ affective/emotional needs. Consequents were psychological disorders, dependence on aggressors, environment of insecurity and damage/loss of human rights or human dignity. Final considerations: the phenomenon under discussion is broad and multifaceted, suggesting expansion of studies related to the theme in order to explore it in detail.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the concept associated with diagnostic proposition Ocular dryness in adult patients hospitalized in an Intensive Care Unit, identifying its attributes, antecedents and consequences. Methods: a methodological study carried out through concept analysis, operationalized by scoping review. Results: the analysis of 180 studies allowed the identification of two attributes, 32 antecedents and 12 consequences. The attributes were tear film deficiency and ocular signs and/or symptoms. The prevalent antecedents were incomplete eyelid closure (lagophthalmos) and blinking mechanism decrease. Major consequences included conjunctival hyperemia and decreased tear volume. Conclusions: this study allowed constructing nursing diagnosis Ocular dryness, part of domain 11, class 2, with 12 defining characteristics, 12 related factors, seven populations at risk and 13 associated conditions. This problem-focused proposal may provide targeted care by promoting early detection and implementing interventions that reduce the risk of ocular damage.

Abstract Objective The present theoretical study aimed to describe the functionalist origins of self-awareness construct and its importance in grounding an empirical investigation agenda within psychological scientific literature. Method We first conceptually analyzed William James definitions for self-related processes and then examined its repercussion for empirical self-awareness research in personality and cognitive neuroscience literature. Results Initial challenges of the field to put forward investigations that encompassed both dispositional and situational aspects of self-awareness were found. Moreover, progress observed in different trends of self-awareness investigation, in the last 20 years, were approached in its connection to technological advances evidenced in science. Conclusion The need for more integration between different levels of evidence and research fields are discussed as a mean to build an effective full understanding of self-awareness.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to develop a nursing diagnosis proposal focused on venous return. Methods: this is a concept analysis according to the model proposed by Walker and Avant, which is operationalized through an integrative review. The study was carried out according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses protocol recommendations. Results: the analysis of the 131 studies allowed identifying attributes, antecedents and consequences. The most common attribute was decreased venous flow. The antecedents most frequently found were structural and/or functional valve deficiency, advanced age and peripheral venous thrombosis. The most common consequences were peripheral edema, venous ulcer and pain in the extremity. Conclusions: the formulated nursing diagnosis was proposed as part of Domain 4, Activity/rest, in Class 4, Cardiovascular/pulmonary responses, with eight defining characteristics, five related factors, six at-risk populations and four associated conditions.

This theoretical work discusses the relationships between concept formation and the activities that sustain it. In particular, we highlight the teaching-learning processes in everyday and school activities. Following the Vygotskian perspective, these two learning contexts are described by employing the categories of volition and conscious awareness of the subjects in the teaching-learning activity. Moreover, we advance this perspective by proposing another two categories - supervision and institutionalization - to make justice to the activity’s characteristics rather than the mental processes of the subjects who participate in them. The discussion is exemplified through episodes in which the concept of the Moon is elaborated in human activities (in the wild) and then as it appears in school activity (domestication). Finally, we relate such dichotomy between wild and domestication through the school encapsulation and analise a learning sequence that aims to enrich school practices by and articulation between everyday and school contexts. ABSTRACT Objective: To communicate the experience of developing concepts for the construction of a care model through focus groups. Methods: An experience report on the development of concepts through remote focus groups with members of a research group from a public university in southern Brazil. Results: Focus groups were developed in which homogeneity and heterogeneity criteria were observed among participants. In addition to the concepts of the nursing metaparadigm, the concepts of care and family-centered care were developed, relevant to the nursing care model in question. Final considerations: Despite the challenges of conducting remote focus groups, they were suitable for the collective construction of concepts for a nursing care model, allowing the interaction of participants from different locations.

Objective: to analyze the concept of telenursing. Methods: this is an integrative review based on the Concept Analysis model, conducted in the LILACS, CINAHL, SCOPUS, Web of Science and MEDLINE/PubMed databases, using the descriptors Telenursing, Remote Consultation and Nursing. Results: 37 studies were analyzed, identifying among the antecedents the scientization of nursing care, advances in health informatics and the dissemination of telehealth and telemedicine. Regarding attributes, the use of Information and Communication Technologies in nursing care, telemonitoring, low cost, reliability and availability stand out. The most common consequences point to better establishment of the link between patient and nurse, expansion of care coverage, health promotion, and better adherence to treatment. Conclusion: scientific evidence contributed to the formulation of the concept of telenursing, which consists of the incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies in nursing care through technological products and processes, in order to meet health needs. Contributions to practice: it contributes to the innovation of nursing care, since it elucidates the scientific subsidies necessary for understanding and discussing telenursing as an emerging phenomenon, as well as presenting the basic components of the concept.

Abstract: Quantitative reasoning is a fundamental skill for mathematical performance since it requires conceptual comprehension of mathematical operations. Thus, the purpose of this study was to look at the function of cognitive abilities as predecessors of arithmetic conceptual knowledge. This study included 127 third and fourth graders who were tested for two broad domain skills: working memory and phonemic awareness, as well as two narrow domain skills: number transcoding and number estimative. A quantitative reasoning exercise was also used to measure these pupils' conceptual grasp. Multiple regression analysis shows that working memory, number transcoding and number estimation are the cognitive predictors of quantitative reasoning achievement. These findings support the need of developing such abilities in children beginning in kindergarten to prevent problems and aid in the development of conceptual arithmetic learning.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the concept of cardiovascular risk to support nursing practice. Methods: this is an analysis to define the concept of cardiovascular risk, through the use of eight steps of Walker’s and Avant’s framework, using a literature review in indexed scientific journals. Results: cardiovascular risk is defined in a broad and original way as a context of health and nursing care that makes it possible to identify modifiable (cardiometabolic, behavioral, psychosocial, cultural and occupational) and non-modifiable (biological) risk factors for cardiovascular diseases that act as early and interrelated markers, of multiple and heterogeneous etiology, predisposing to cardiovascular vulnerability. Conclusions: with the analysis and definition of the concept of cardiovascular risk, we realized that it will be possible to base nursing practice, with implications in clinical practice for identifying and reducing risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, with nursing relevance in the care of these subjects.

The subject of this essay is the classical problem of induction, which is sometimes attributed to David Hume and called “the Humean Problem of Induction.” Here, I examine a certain sort of Neo-Aristotelian solution to the problem, which appeals to the concept of natural kinds in its response to the inductive skeptic. This position is most notably represented by Howard Sankey and Marc Lange. The purpose of this paper is partly destructive and partly constructive. I raise two questions. The first is: Are the natural kind solutions to the problem successful? The first thesis of this paper is that they are not, and I will show how and why they fail. And the second question I raise here is: Is there nonetheless some alternative Neo-Aristotelian solution to the problem which is successful and can overcome the shortcomings endemic to the Sankey-Lange account? The second thesis is that there is, and I’ll attempt to sketch one. My stance here may be summarized by saying that, while I agree with Sankey and Lange that the problem of induction can be adequately resolved, and while I am on the whole sympathetic with the Aristotelian spirit of their account(s), I am, for all that, dissatisfied with the letter of them. Nothing short of a more thoroughgoing Aristotelianism about the epistemology of induction will do.

The following is a theoretical study on the development of scientific knowledge. This effort is necessary to deepen the understanding of scientific practice, avoiding, for example, using in science teaching only lessons based on the hypothetical-deductive method, and, therefore, being careful when bringing science together with teaching/learning science. Through one of the references of historical-cultural theory, we will analyze the process of elaboration of this knowledge. In this sense, we present an alternative to apprehend the possible logical-structural modes of Galileo Galilei's thought. Thus, we turn our attention to his reports on the discovery of Jupiter's moons, in January 1610, in search of the possible reasons that led Galileo to deepen his knowledge of the natural world.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to define and validate 37 concepts emanating from the epistemology of knowledge about Nursing Administration. Methods: theoretical-methodological study using the Delphi technique in 37 concepts and definitions built on the knowledge of more than half a century of research on Nursing Administration. The concepts were submitted to the judgment of a panel of 21 judges and the validation was measured by the content validity index (> 0.78) and Kappa coefficient (> 0.61). Results: enunciation of 37 concepts and definitions capable of reflecting the knowledge about Nursing Administration. The 37 concepts were validated by the judges, resulting in content validity indices that ranged from 0.81 to 1.00, with reliability higher than 0.79. Conclusions: the epistemological solution presented was validated by the judges with indices above 0.80 and high reliability of universal agreement, constituting a new object of ontological understanding for the scientific nursing community.

This paper aimed to investigate the contributions of a didactic sequence centered on different strategies to teach concepts of Geography in the first years of Elementary School. The qualitative approach, in the exploratory-explanatory modality, leaded the investigation. Data were collected through participant observation, documentary analysis of students' productions and spontaneous testimonies. The results emphasize that teaching, in order to effectively contribute to the concept formation and promote student development, must be consolidated from the proposition of several didactic strategies associated with the use of various forms of mediation capable of creating reasons and interests for the object of knowledge. Reflect on the concepts that go through the history of people with disabilities, in the context of their rights, as the processes involving their education is an emerging theme. The objective of this work was to understand the conceptions about health of university professors based on the Bioecological Theory of Human development. This is an exploratory case study research with a mixed approach carried out with professors from a public university in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The method of data collection was the interview and the self-administered questionnaire. 73 professors and 6 interview participants from different fields of knowledge, selected at random participated answering to the questionnaire. It was observed that the systems that constitute the organizational basis of the participants' lives were similar and that their life stories, their culture, the media and the relationships they establish at work are factors that influence their conceptions about health and about the relationship established with people with disabilities in Higher Education. The participants' conception of health, however, still runs through the biomedical model, but has been undergoing a progressive change. It is concluded that the conceptions about health are linked to life history, when then one starts to subjectivity. Combined with the contextual issues of a particular place, the concept of health has been progressively detaching itself from the concept of disease.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the concept of “interruption in the work of nursing professionals”. Methods: conceptual study according to the method proposed by Walker and Avant through integrative literature review. The study searched the databases using the descriptors: “Attention”, “Attention Bias”, “Health Personnel”, “Nurses”, “Patient Safety” and “Medical Malpractices”. The sample consisted of 36 studies. Results: the antecedents were alarms, answering phone calls, providing patient care, and lack of material/medicine. The defining attributes were pause, suspension, breakage, and intrusion. In relation to the consequences, the study highlighted the increase in frequency and severity of medication errors and change of focus. Final Considerations: theconceptual analysis identified the attributes, antecedents, and consequences and allowed to build an operational definition for “interruption in the work of nursing professionals”. It will contribute to the improvement of the work process and the creation of strategies that ensure safer care for the patient.

To understand the process of formation of spontaneous and scientific concepts by blind children based on interventions that take place in the classroom, we present in this paper, qualitative research whose methodological option was a case study on the role of mediation for the formation of scientific concepts in these children. To collect data, we used didactic activities, which were planned and applied separately to second and fourth-grade classes of elementary school, in a school specialized in assisting people with visual impairment. The guiding questions of this research were: How does the school collaborate to the formation and transformation of scientific thinking in the visually impaired child? What is the role of the teaching and learning process in the development of scientific concepts in these subjects? To answer these questions, we used content related to Physics, as this is an area that allows children to reflect, considering their spontaneous and original ideas about how things work. The topics chosen were: energy, force, and movement. Based on the activities performed by the two classes, we compared the students' perceptions about the concepts in question. As a main theoretical contribution, we used Vygotsky's studies and his cultural-historical theory, which has as one of its principles the idea that learning and, consequently, the development of concepts does not occur through direct assimilation but through interactions with the environment, objects, and others, in which the subject, through these relationships, builds his own thinking. ABSTRACT Objective: to develop the concept ambience for labor and normal institutionalized delivery, identifying in the literature its antecedent, defining attributes and the consequent. Method: the method used was the analysis of literature, corresponding to the first stage of the qualitative method of concept analysis. The theoretical operation was performed in the databases CINAHL COCHRANE, LILACS, PsycINFO, and PubMed. Results: aspects of the parturient woman and the qualification of the physical and social space are presented as the antecedent. The defining attributes outline the assistance interaction process with Non-Invasive Technologies. As the consequent, we highlight the outcome for normal delivery, pain relief and comfort, woman satisfaction and well-being. Final considerations: the analysis of the antecedent, defining attributes and the consequent allowed the elaboration of an unprecedent theoretical proposition of this concept.

Aunque internacionalmente se ha destacado la importancia que tiene la habilidad para el acceso, uso y distribución de la información en el aprendizaje de nuevos conceptos en un ambiente universitario hace falta fomentar la integración de su instrucción en el currículo e investigar sus alcances didácticos. Por ello, en este estudio de corte mixto-exploratorio se buscó comprender la manera en que el desarrollo de las metahabilidades en información (MTHI) coadyuvan con la evolución conceptual en estudiantes de posgrado virtual, encontrándose elementos instruccionales que muestran cierta relación entre el desarrollo de las MTHI con el desarrollo de conocimientos, además del valor de la participación del profesor bibliotecario como un cotutor que apoye a los alumnos en la adopción y perfeccionamiento de un proceso reflexivo de rastreo informativo.

Background: Autonomy is a concept widely used by health professionals, however, there is some inconsistency in its use. Objective: Map and analyze the concept of autonomy in existing evidence according to its application in different areas of knowledge. Review Method: Scoping review based on the principles recommended by the Joanna Briggs Institute and the Walker e Avant conceptual analysis method. Two independent reviewers performed the relevance of the articles, the extraction and synthesis of the data. Presentation and interpretation of results: In the review, 191 articles were included. Attributes of the concept of autonomy are: cognitive state, emotional intelligence, social situation, intellectual condition and physical condition. Conclusion: Autonomy is a multifaceted concept. ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the perioperative thirst concept for the development of a new diagnostic structure according to NANDA International. Methods: a concept analysis study based on the framework proposed by Walker and Avant, instrumentalized through an integrative literature review based on SCOPUS, CINAHL, PUBMED, LILACS, and WOS. The elaboration of the diagnostic structure followed NANDA International guidelines. Results: 41 studies were analyzed revealing that perioperative thirst is prevalent and intense, having visceral and behavioral attributes as the core of the concept. Antecedents indicate that surgical patients are vulnerable to thirst; and consequents 16 signs and symptoms were organized and model cases were developed. A diagnostic structure has been developed for perioperative thirst. Final Considerations: concept analysis allowed language standardization that describes thirsty patients, helping the identification, planning of actions and communication of perioperative nursing care.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the concept of social identity of transgender persons and develop nursing diagnoses related to it. Methods: A concept analysis according to the Walker and Avant model. A scope review was carried out with a search of eight databases, a portal and two information systems, during June and July 2019. Articles, theses, and dissertations were analyzed in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, with no time frame definition. Results: Of the 6.847 productions, 10 were included, and the concept of social identity was described in 4 of them. Critical, prior, and consequential attributes for the social identity of transgender persons were identified, and the analysis of the concept substantiated the proposal of the diagnosis: Willingness to improve the social identity of the transgender person. Conclusion: Social identity establishes a relationship with health, and the proposed nursing diagnosis strengthens the sense of belonging of transgender people, enhancing their rights as citizens.

ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the concept of “frailty syndrome” in the literature, according to the method proposed by Walker and Avant. Methods: It is a concept analysis, guided by the method proposed by Walker and Avant, made operational through an integrative literature review. The search in a scientific database was carried out using the descriptors: Frail elderly, syndrome, phenotype, geriatric assessment, and aging. The literary corpus comprised 66 studies. Results: The study found the antecedents and attributes (categorized as physical, sociodemographic, and behavioral/environmental) that integrate the signs and symptoms evidenced in the “frailty syndrome,” as well as the consequences of this concept. The variables were analyzed with emphasis on the conceptions that influence the frailty process of the elderly. Conclusion: The study demonstrated the complexity arising from the multifactorial genesis of the referred syndrome, emphasizing the specificities of the elderly’s frailty. However, we recommend conducting further research involving the phenomenon in question to understand the construct better.

The aim of the present study was to verify the knowledge of undergraduate students in physical education about the concept of bullying. The sample consisted of 191 students. We used a structured interview, which was recorded and later transcribed. The statistics used were the chi-square test, the odds ratio (OR) and confidence interval (CI). The results showed that the physical education undergraduate students who participated in this study, partially know the concept of bullying [χ² (2) = 237,25; p <0.001]. The subjects did not present or incompletely presented the units that characterize the phenomenon. Thus, it is suggested that undergraduate physical education courses should broaden discussions and studies about bullying. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this article is to analyze the contribution of learning activity to the development of theoretical thinking of the child from the first years of elementary school, a period previous to early childhood education in which the child, by means of the activity that promotes his development, social role-play, begins to take the first steps of the formation of his personality. The child's entry into school provides conditions for him to develop his psyche, now through learning activity, directed by the teacher through his intentionally programmed teaching activity to drive student learning. This movement concretizes the change of the main activity of the small child to the main activity of the schoolchild, that is, from the social role-play to learning activity that governs the most important changes in the psychic processes and in the psychological traits of the child's personality in school age. The learning activity proposes to develop theoretical thinking through scientific concepts as opposed to teaching that promotes students' empirical thinking. This article derives from qualitative research, based on a bibliographical basis, with reference to a set of authors, psychologists and psychopedagogues, of the Cultural-Historical Theory and Developmental Teaching, whose works express the objectification and orientation of a school that is committed to integral and human development of children and whose theoretical matrix is dialectical and historical materialism. The research carried out allows us to affirm that an organized education to develop learning activity in the children promotes the conditions to develop their theoretical thinking and assimilate the scientific knowledge. This research seeks to understand the relationship between philosophy and the formation of concepts in childhood from the perspective of Matthew Lipman. As our own research in the area of philosophy of education, we pose the following question as a problem to be analyzed: how can philosophy contribute to the concept formation process in childhood according to Lipman? The development of this problem was organized in five stages. A first seeks to understand and deepen Lipman's conception of Philosophy for Children, especially the idea of thinking skills and philosophical dialogue in the research community; the second stage consisted of planning philosophical practice with the children at school, in a class with 32 students from the 3rd year of elementary school in a public school in the city of Londrina / PR, in the period of one semester; the third was to carry out the classroom experience with the students and the teacher from the previous stages; the fourth step was the evaluation of the practice and the planning of the following classes after each meeting; and the fifth stage was concerned with the registration, analysis and systematization of the observed. In order to investigate the contribution of philosophy to the concept formation process in childhood, according to Lipman, part of the research methodology was qualitative, analyzing the concepts of philosophy, thinking and the research community of this philosopher. For this, his main works and those of his commentators were consulted. Action research procedures were also employed through the practice of students from Elementary School I, in order to carry out an experience of the analyzed concepts. As a result of the research, it is possible to highlight the fundamental role of Lipman's Philosophy for Children in the formation of concepts, because, through philosophical practices, the children were more reflective in approaching concepts that in their daily lives could go unnoticed. The work of questioning and dialogue in the research community made it possible to highlight the difficulty of conceptualizing at the beginning of the work, the progress along their approach and the need to seek more in-depth answers. With that, it can be highlighted that the Philosophy classes contributed to such advances and that without them the skills would remain stagnant. This study is added to the philosophical educational movement of teaching philosophy from childhood, which is considered essential for the formation of more reasonable subjects, and most importantly, with the acquisition of skills that will facilitate life in and out of school. This article is part of a study aimed to map antiracist knowledge and practices in mental health by monitoring the practices of three collectives of professionals working in/with the psychosocial care network in the city of São Paulo, allowing us to characterize their intervention strategies. To contribute to the conceptualization of this article, through a review of the decolonial literature, three major ideas have been outlined that have allowed us to give substance to the decolonization of Psychiatric Reform: bewilderment, which, in dialogue with Achille Mbembe and Frantz Fanon, invites us to affirm madness and blackness without, however, establishing fixations; the antimanicolonial, which occurs in the promotion of the free and countercultural exercise of imagining diasporas, in light of that proposed by Édouard Glissant, Paul Gilroy, and Lélia Gonzales regarding an Atlantic (de)orientation in which elements of the black diaspora and Latin America can re-signify blackness and unreason; and aquilombar, as a liberatory praxis whose genesis lies in the quilombos as a living metaphor for the radicalisation of relationships in differences, based on Abdias do Nascimento's quilombismo, Clóvis Moura's quilombagem, Beatriz Nascimento's (k)quilombo, and Mariléa de Almeida's devir quilomba.

Objective: To evaluate the concept of quality of life from the patient´s perspective. Method: 1029 patients having different diagnoses of cancer were evaluated using an open-ended question (How would you define Quality of Life?). The text of the individual replies was processed in order to perform lexicometric analysis which includes correspondence analysis. Results: Graphical forms and repeated segments that are most frequent are related to the concepts of well-being, health, functionality, good nutrition and spiritual and family aspects. These concepts change depending on type of cancer. Correspondence analysis suggests three domains: one related to care, the other having to do with well-being and another one dealing with nutrition and social and family aspects. There was an association between these dimensions and type of cancer (dimension 1: pediatric patients; dimension 2: breast cancer; and dimension 3: patients with prostrate cancer). In the multidimensional space that was constituted by graphical forms and repeated segments the diagnosis of pediatric cancer differs from others types of cancer. Conclusion: The design of instruments for measuring quality of live in patients having a cancer diagnosis should incorporate disease specific characteristics.

This paper presents the methodological process and results of a research project in which the main objective was to verify the development of scientific concepts in participants by analyzing human history using movies from different historical periods. The discussions hereby exposed are a product of seven years of teaching, researching and extracurricular activities. The study was based on the foundations of Cultural-Historical Psychology and Critical-Historical Pedagogy, defending the idea that the educational work is the main element for promotion of human development. It is also understood that art and science present themselves as human products that are possible of being appropriated by man, in order to promote maximum psychological development. We concluded that the systematization of the pedagogic work offered conditions for the research subjects to achieve conceptual progress.

This study aimed to understand the concept of health within Collective Health. Our analysis starts from Marxism as a theoretical reference, both to define what is a "concept" and to understand the critical thinking of Collective Health. As empirical research the bibliographic production of the main journals that bring together Collective Health publications as a knowledge area was used, which resulted in 34 papers that somehow treated the concept of health, even if it was not the main object of the study. From this analysis we identified at least three different modalities of definitions, which varied both in the referential basis used to apprehend and analyze empirical realities concerning health, and in the conceptualization of social that could be in this analysis. We have also identified that the papers ranged between a production that was strictly descriptive of these empirical realities and strictly theoretical essays, rather than to produce a concrete (empirical) thought based on the elected definition of social. It was concluded that within Health Collective the concept of health has been taken, in general, either as a notion (a partial approximation of the object) or as a motto, from an ethical-political engagement that ends up relegating the theoretical- conceptual contribution to the background. Objective: To identify and analyze the concept of the powerlessness in individuals with stroke, according to the NANDA-I Taxonomy. Methods. Concept analysis from online access of four databases using the descriptors: impotence; helplessness, learned; Stroke, depression in languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish. Results. The critical attributes of the feeling of powerlessness are: fragility, helplessness, lack of control, and power to chieve the proposed results for recovery and adaptation. Eleven new antecedents were found. It is recommended to reformulate three antecedents present in the taxonomy. Fourteen consequent were found. It is suggested to amend three consequential from the review. Conclusion. With the analysis, a more complete concept of the powerlessness was elaborated allowing clarifying the critical attributes that, in turn, will help the rehabilitating nurse to recognize the signs and symptoms and to strengthen mechanisms of tolerance and resistance to stress. The purpose of this paper is to present the possibility of employing Piaget's Clinical Method to investigate comprehension of healthy eating by verifying whether the notions presented by individuals are close to the concept advocated in Brazilian official documents. The proposed instrument consists of a clinical interview with material support being the structure of a supermarket and a semi-structured script with situations and questions to be made to the interviewee. To aid analysis of the data collected during the interview, the characteristics of the different levels related to the healthy eating concept were structured. The levels are elaborated by considering the thought structure individuals made use of at the time of answering the questions by the interviewer. At the first level, the individuals make use of a single variable involved in the healthy eating concept for their explanations or do they rely on one aspect in one instance and, within a new situation, another aspect. At the second level, they go on to make use of different variables, referencing different aspects related to healthy eating that are isolated, are not related among themselves, seeming to be independent in the individuals' interpretation. At the third level, individuals understand the existing relation between healthy eating variables, being applied in different situations and contexts. It is pointed out that taking into consideration that individuals present different levels of comprehension in relation to the healthy eating concept may significantly contribute towards the planning of food and nutrition education future actions, both for individuals and for collectivities. Brazil is going through a normative guidance of the Ministry of Health in order to make a reform of Primary Health Care (PHC) oriented to the Family Health Strategy (FHS), with support of experts from educational and research institutions, to turn it into a resolutive gateway to the health system. This study assumes that the country still lives a context where there is no clear separation between specific roles of different types of health services. It aimed to provide evidence that the tendency to assess the PHC in Brazil, only by reference to the FHS, is limiting the accurate determination of the health services universe that potentially include the features internationally defined as inherent to the PHC. The aim is to also indicate alternative possibilities for analysis and application of its concepts to national studies. We conclude that if on one hand PHC concepts are well defined in the literature, there is evidence that its use is imperfect to some local contexts and there is a need for more consistent and rational approaches, able to identify the health services operating in line with the PHC and measure its essential attributes. Estudo teórico que objetivou analisar os atributos, antecedentes e consequências do conceito cuidado transpessoal, mediante utilização do Modelo de Análise de Conceito. Para isso, elencaram-se livros publicados pela teórica Jean Watson, em português e em inglês, no período de 1979 a 2012. Cumpridos os critérios de inclusão, permaneceram seis obras literárias. Os antecedentes mais citados foram o momento de cuidado e a intenção em estar na relação. Os atributos mais presentes foram a intersubjetividade e as relações entre os envolvidos no processo. Com relação às consequências, o fato de o cuidado transpessoal propiciar restauração/reconstituição (healing) foi o elemento mais presente. O estudo possibilitou constatar ínfimas alterações na definição do conceito com o passar dos anos e das publicações da teórica. Assim, analisar os atributos, os antecedentes e as consequências do conceito propiciou melhor entendimento deste e compreensão da sua importância na Teoria do Cuidado Humano proposta pela teórica americana.Estudio teórico objetivando analizar los atributos, antecedentes y consecuencias del concepto de cuidado transpersonal, utilizando el Modelo de Análisis de Concepto. Respecto a consecuencias, el hecho de que el cuidado transpersonal favorezca la restauración/reconstitución (healing) fue el elemento más expresado. Fue posible constatar ínfimas alteraciones en la definición del concepto al pasar de los años según las publicaciones de la teórica. En conclusión, analizar los atributos, antecedentes y consecuencias del concepto favoreció un mejor entendimiento de éste, y la comprensión de su importancia en la Teoría del cuidado Humano propuesta por la teórica norteamericana.This theoretical study aimed to analyze the attributes, antecedents, and consequences of the transpersonal caring concept through using the Concepts Analysis Model. For this purpose, books published based on Jean Watson's theory in Portuguese and English from 1979 to 2012 were listed. Fulfilled inclusion criteria, only six literary works remained. The time of care and intention to be in relationship were the most cited antecedents. The most present attributes were intersubjectivity and relationships among those ones involved in the process. With regard to consequences, the most present element was the fact that the transpersonal caring provides restoration/reconstitution (healing). The study allowed noting tiny changes in the concept definition over the years and publications of theory. Thus, analyzing the attributes, antecedents, and consequences of concept provided its better understanding and comprehension of its importance in the Human Caring Theory proposed by American theorist.

RESUMO Objetivo Construir, com os enfermeiros, a Filosofia de Enfermagem e o Marco Conceitual que servirão como suporte para a implantação da Sistematização da Assistência de Enfermagem em um hospital do Sul do Brasil. Métodos Pesquisa Convergente Assistencial. A coleta de dados ocorreu de julho a outubro de 2014, através de duas oficinas e quatro encontros, com 42 enfermeiros. Foram criados a filosofia de enfermagem, o marco conceitual e foi feita a escolha da teórica. Para análise de dados foi utilizada a proposta de Morse e Field. Resultados A filosofia envolve as crenças de: equipe de enfermagem; trabalho em equipe; cuidado holístico; excelência no atendimento; liderança/coordenação; equipe interdisciplinar, comprometimento. O marco conceitual traz os conceitos de: ser humano; enfermagem; assistência de enfermagem, cuidado seguro. A teórica definida foi Wanda de Aguiar Horta. Conclusões Trouxe como contribuição a construção da filosofia de enfermagem e do marco conceitual da instituição e a definição da teoria de enfermagem.

OBJECTIVES: to validate the concept "risk for decreased cardiac output". METHOD: Six of the eight steps suggested in the technique developed by Walker & Avant were adopted to analyze the concept of the phenomenon under study and the proposal made by Hoskins was used for content validation, taking into account agreement achieved among five experts. RESULTS: the concept "decreased cardiac output" was found in the nursing and medical fields and refers to the heart's pumping capacity while the concept "risk" is found in a large number of disciplines. In regard to the defining attributes, "impaired pumping capacity" was the main attribute of decreased cardiac output and "probability" was the main attribute of risk. The uses and defining attributes of the concepts "decreased cardiac output" and "risk" were analyzed as well as their antecedent and consequent events in order to establish the definition of "risk for decreased cardiac output", which was validated by 100% of the experts. CONCLUSION: The obtained data indicate that the risk for decreased cardiac output phenomenon can be a nursing diagnosis and refining it can contribute to the advancement of nursing classifications in this context.OBJETIVO: Validar el concepto riesgo del débito cardíaco disminuido. MÉTODO: Fue adoptada la técnica de Walker & Avant para analizar la definición del fenómeno enfocado, utilizando seis de las ocho etapas sugeridas y la propuesta de Hoskins para validar el contenido, considerándose la conformidad entre cinco expertos. RESULTADOS: el concepto de debito cardíaco disminuido se encuentra en las áreas enfermería y médica y su atención se centra en la capacidad de bombeo del corazón. Sin embargo, el concepto de riesgo es presente en un gran número de áreas. Las características definitorias de la disminución del gasto cardíaco mostraron como principal atributo deficiencia de la bomba cardiaca y, para el riesgo, el atributo de probabilidad. Analizados los usos y características definidoras de los conceptos "débito cardíaco disminuido" y "riesgo" con los hechos anteriores y subsiguientes, fue posible elaborar la definición de "riesgo de débito cardíaco disminuido", la cual fue validada por 100% de los expertos. CONCLUSIÓN: Los resultados encontrados permitieron concluir que el fenómeno de riesgo de débito cardíaco disminuido puede constituir un diagnóstico de enfermería y su refinamiento puede contribuir al avance de las clasificaciones de enfermería.OBJETIVO: validar o conceito de risco de débito cardíaco diminuído. RESULTADOS: o conceito de débito cardíaco diminuído foi encontrado nas áreas de enfermagem e médica e está centrado na capacidade de bombeamento do coração, embora também esteja presente em um grande número de disciplinas. Em relação aos atributos definidores, o débito cardíaco diminuído teve como atributo principal a deficiência de bombeamento cardíaco e o risco, o atributo de probabilidade. Analisados os usos e os atributos definidores dos conceitos de "débito cardíaco diminuído" e "risco", seus eventos antecedentes e consequentes, construiu-se a definição de risco de débito cardíaco diminuído, que foi validada por 100% dos especialistas. CONCLUSÃO: os dados obtidos permitiram inferir que o fenômeno risco de débito cardíaco diminuído pode se constituir num diagnóstico de enfermagem e, por meio do seu refinamento, contribuir para o avanço das classificações de enfermagem nesse contexto.
