For Cultural-Historical Psychology, written language is a complex symbolic system responsible for a significant qualitative leap in the historical development of the human psyche by representing, through very specific signs, the structure of oral language and the organization of thought. Trying to overcome the separation between alphabetization and literacy, within the limits of a cognitive and neuroscientific conception of reading, this article analyzes a field study carried out with preschoolers that were playing during the construction of a forest. During the activity, the children needed to express themselves through written language, like primitive men in their caves. This article presents a study that aims to comprehend the affiliation to university life. This study utilizes a cultural semiotic psychology perspective theoretical framework. This framework focuses on analyzing human beings developmental trajectories and meaning-making processes. The data were collected at the end of 2021 through semi-structured interviews. The process of data analysis applies the method of elaboration of thematic categories. As the main results of this study, it has been found that the university context could catalyze the sensation of nonbelonging. From this point of view, the university could reproduce prejudices and discrimination of gender, race, social class, and sexual orientation. In this sense, the study discusses that experience in university life contains a considerable affective aspect that the student experiments in an affective semiotic dimension. Finally, the study concludes with the necessity of more research related to the affiliation of university life, especially in postgraduate students, to contribute to public policies to support university students and their psychic suffering. Although in developmental and family psychology, studying variations in parenting styles (democratic/authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful) and parent-child relationship quality (cohesion, conflict) are long-standing research topics, the underlying mechanisms associated with the relationships between parenting styles and parent-adolescent relationships have rarely been examined. The purpose of the research is to examine the possible mediating effects of adolescents’ perceptions of parenting styles for the degree of responsiveness, control, and affection on the link between parenting styles and the variability of relational conflict and cohesion in adolescent development. The sample consisted of 80 teenagers from the 9th grade (high schools, vocational schools, technical colleges) (64.56% girls and 35.44% boys), aged between 15 and 17 years and 21 parents (13.04% men, 86.96% women) from Romania. It was analyzed in addition to teenagers’ perception of parenting styles and the degree of cohesion, flexibility/adaptability in the family, from the perspective of teens and parents. Parenting styles are critical family context factors and are closely related to parent-adolescent relationships, according to previous research results (Shek, 2002), but it is important to note that adolescents may perceive parenting styles differently from adults. In conclusion, the partial results of the research show that the democratic/authoritative parenting style is the most frequently reported by adolescents, but the number of fathers belonging to the neglectful style is higher than that of mothers, the number of mothers who support the child in the development of autonomy and make the child responsible is higher than that of fathers, and the number of fathers who never hug their children is higher than that of mothers. Emerging adulthood refers to the period of human development between adolescence and adulthood, which includes individuals between the ages of 18 and 29. The main characteristics of emerging adulthood are identity exploration, instability, self-focus, feelings of ambivalence, and a period of possibility. Due to the difficulties and challenges inherent to this period, the mental health of emerging adults must be promoted. One of the ways to positively contribute to increasing and maintaining the mental health of this population is the development of a sense of meaning in life. This theoretical study aimed to present the importance of meaning in life for the healthy development of emerging adults and contribute to discussions on this topic in the light of developmental psychology. To this end, the definition and importance of emerging adulthood, the specificities of emerging adulthood in the Brazilian context, the implications of meaning in life for the mental health of emerging adults, and the studies on meaning in life in emerging adulthood are presented and discussed. The research results indicate that the presence of a sense of meaning in life in emerging adults is related to processes of personal growth, self-realization, and positive mental functioning and that promoting meaning in life in this population can strengthen commitment to life itself and protect against risky behaviors. It is suggested that interventions that consider the specificities of emerging adulthood in the Brazilian context with a focus on meaning in life be carried out to contribute to the prevention and promotion of mental health in this population. In scientific literature, mediumship and its different expressions were not always considered cultural and religious categories, with positions associated them with psychic illness predominating. In this sense, developmental psychology can contribute to the emergence of positions that no longer promote stigmatization and intolerance towards people who manifest mediumship. This investigation aims to highlight the main contributions of the bioecological theory of development to studies on mediumship in Brazil. 61 mediums were interviewed from different religious centers of Umbanda, Candomblé, and Kardecista Spiritualism, located in three cities in the inland of São Paulo and Minas Gerais States. Bioecological theory elements were identified in the mediums' narratives - person, process, context, and time - as discussed, the notions of ecological transition to understand life trajectories and ecological insertion to reflect on the role of the researcher in this research context. The data from this study reveal the need for revisions and improvements to the framework, especially in terms of ecological insertion, to allow access to the field and interlocutors in a systemic exploration of the phenomenon of mediumship. The person dimension can also be revised to encompass not only the demands, resources, and dispositions of the medium but also the entities/orixás incorporated by them during the possession trance, elements that are embedded in the description of who this medium is in terms of its bioecological characteristics. In addition to these recommendations, it is noteworthy that bioecological theory has contributed to an investigation of mediumship from a developmental point of view, focusing on processes of change and allowing the emergence of intelligibility committed to the comparison of this phenomenon in response to racist positions, prejudiced and intolerant that have traditionally marked the study of mediumship in the Brazilian context and also the care given to these mediums. This study aimed to identify the techniques and instruments used to evaluate group social skills training with children aged 6 to 12, with typical or atypical development in the Brazilian and international contexts. Accordingly, an integrative literature review was carried out, selecting 37 studies according to the eligibility criteria adopted. Most of the studies used quantitative techniques, with a prevalence of standardized measures to evaluate the training. This is in line with the methodology adopted in quasi-experimental and experimental research. It was also observed that the techniques used to evaluate the training were predominantly applied with the children participating in the intervention, giving them a leading role in this type of investigation. The contribution of qualitative techniques in applied research and the dichotomy between quantitative and qualitative approaches are discussed, proposing mixed methods of investigation. The present study sought to identify the main implications that semi-culture and the individualization process have in triggering children's psychic suffering, guided by bibliographic research in light of the theoretical foundations of the Critical Theory of Society and the Theory of Risk Society, using the thoughts of Theodor W. Adorno and Ulrich Beck as the essence of the discussion. From this, it was identified that social organization, semi-culture, and individualization contribute to the development of psychological impasses at any time in life, but especially in childhood, as it is a period of identity construction. The individualization of social risks is correlated to the process of alienation - subsidized by semi-culture -, which intends to dissociate the contradictions and subjective impasses experienced by the individual from their context and socio-historical causes. ABSTRACT This article aims to analyze the use of audiovisual methods in research with children. Four children participated in this research about the presence of digital technologies in their lives in an urban childhood context. The methodological procedures were conversation circles and the production of videos. Results show the participants’ interaction with the camera as an “other” that should be positioned, a transposition of meanings from audiovisual production to the research context, and the influence of the format of YouTubers’ videos on the production of a video in a group. In addition to functioning as recording instruments, cameras, and audiovisual products imply specific modes of interaction and positioning among children.

This article is an invitation to decolonial thinking/doing, through the articulation between intervention research and university extension, as one of the many possible options to coloniality that can permeate research in Human and Social Sciences. Based on a study in Developmental and School Psychology, carried out with members of historically marginalized groups in public universities (people from poor inner-city neighbourhoods, black people, indigenous people, people in vulnerable housing situations, people from deprived rural areas, etc.) in an university extension project, it is evident that involvement with these projects offers interesting possibilities for exercising protagonism and dialogue in the trajectories of those involved, giving visibility and audibility to disqualified knowledge and experiences. The role of the researcher in the constitution of decolonial dynamics for the production of knowledge with the subalterns is emphasized, to overcoming the coloniality of knowledge and being. People's ageing process is a phenomenon increasingly experienced in the world. The ageing process study and its implications are relatively recent in psychology and the interface between different fields in this discipline, such as Social Psychology and Development Psychology. The social transformations that occurred in the last decades have made the provision of services for older people more frequent, such as long-term care institutions for older people as an alternative to care. Formal caregivers are found in the formal support network and allowed to work in institutions and homes. This research aimed to study the conceptions of formal caregivers about ageing based on the Theory of Social Representations. Specifically, it was intended to understand a practical dimension of training in long-term care institutions based on twenty in-depth interviews. The results pointed to social representations of ageing that emphasise physical dependence, reduction and passivity as extrinsic and dependent on God's will. Ageing is confused with old age (stage of life) and also developed from the comparison with youth. The present study aims to investigate the playful aspects, represented by games and play activities, and their relationship with the teaching, learning, and development process of preschool children based on the concepts of Historical-cultural Psychology and Historical-critical Pedagogy, through the analysis of the new municipal curriculum of the city of Presidente Prudente. The research is grounded in the historicaldialectical materialist method, using documentary analysis as a research procedure, specifically concerning the Early Childhood Education section, more specifically the field of experience 'body, gestures, and movements.' Based on the assumptions of Historical-critical Pedagogy and Historical-cultural Psychology, the importance of playful activities for child development and the teaching-learning process of children in early childhood education is emphasized, justifying the analysis of the use of play activities in pedagogical practices in this stage of basic education. Through the curriculum analysis, the following thematic axes emerged: Body Culture as a means of cognitive development in early childhood education; the importance of role-playing games for the development of preschool children; the phases of play and play activities in the teaching-learning process; playfulness and its peculiarities regarding its contribution to psychological development in early childhood education. It can be concluded that the curriculum contains a vast body of knowledge that, when used as a pedagogical tool, can significantly contribute to child development. Objective: To verify the influence of resource dependence and information sharing on relational exchange costs between buyers and suppliers of transport services. Method: Research of quantitative approach, with data obtained through survey, assessed the perception of professionals from companies in the food and beverage sector that outsource transport activities, and counted on the participation of 120 professionals from transport and logistics sectors of these organizations. For the structural model analysis, it was used the technique of Structural Equation Modeling by Partial Least Squares. Results: The results reveal that food and beverage companies' dependence on transport service providers may lead these organizations to share information. They also suggest that information sharing in the investigated relationships may instigate the development of psychological and emotional bonds between business partners, constituting relational exchange costs. Contributions: Such results have theoretical and practical contributions by suggesting that buyers' resource dependence on their suppliers may instigate information exchange between partners. Moreover, information sharing may encourage the continuity of relationships due to relational barriers to exchange. Moreover, the study adds to the literature by analyzing dependence and information sharing jointly, since previous studies have analyzed such constructs in a dissociated manner and in contexts distinct from the one investigated here. Originality: The study is justified by evidencing elements capable of stimulating partners to share information relevant to their operations, and of restraining customers from switching suppliers due to personal and brand barriers. This study presents a theoretical-conceptual reflection of the notion of social situation of development, constructed by Vygotsky. This is a bibliographic study on the text "El problema de la edad": postulated by Vygotsky and two other authors, Lidia Bozhovich and Laura Domínguez Garcia. Subsidies were sought in the texts to compose the argument of reflection: the concept of Vygotsky and its application in studies on personality, especially in the field of school education. The reflection reiterates the social situation of development as an intrinsic condition to the relationship that children establish with their physical and social environment in their development. The end of the social situation of development at a given age is marked by changes, the manifestation of which indicates a stage in the development and formation of the personality. As a category to understand the child's development, the social situation of development is projected as important to understand the relationships it creates with the school environment. This qualitative research involves the Documental Analysis of Didactic Collections intended for the literacy of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, produced between 2015-2018, a period subsequent to the establishment of a mandatory Law requiring the inclusion of autistic children in the Regular Education System, in all school levels (BRASIL, 2012; 2014). The problem-solving questions that generated the Document Analysis were: What was the epistemological contribution used in these Collections to guide the literacy processes? Would it be linked to the formal logic of the Traditional Pedagogy? Or was it centered on the dialectical logic of the Historical-Cultural Pedagogy and Historical-Critical Pedagogy? The results confirmed the initial hypothesis of the formal logic exclusive use of Traditional Pedagogy and enabled the accomplishment of the final goal of the proposition of epistemological reviews of these Collections, aiming a reflexive educational training of autistics, from their intra and inter personal relations, valued by the Psychology of Cultural Development and by the Materialist Philosophy of Language. The happenstance learning theory is a theoretical model which explains the different life trajectories due to life's non-planned events, focusing on career unpredictability. The theory assumes that it is possible to plan for chance, and five dimensions are used to assess the competences for this purpose: Optimism, Flexibility, Curiosity, Persistence and Risk taking. This article presents a translation and adaptation study of the PHCI scale for Brazil, as well as Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analyses and reliability. A total of 511 university students answered the scale online. The set of results of the analysis of the internal structure indicated a four-factor structure, different from the original proposal of the scale, combining Persistence and Risk taking in a single dimension, with reliability ranging between .59 and .80. The present article aims to analyze child and youth labor in soccer, proposing a normative regulation, due to the possibility of risks to the physical and mental integrity of this population, in light of the Principle of Integral Protection, enshrined by the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil (CRFB/88) and by international treaties, and that recognized to this population segment the condition of subject of rights. As a research methodology, the deductive method was chosen, through eminently bibliographical consultation, and study of the case of the players of Flamengo Regatta Club, victimized in 2019, as a method of procedure. Moreover, as the training of professional athletes in the soccer field is a reality in our country, reaching children and adolescents, and as such, it can be characterized as precocious work, depending on the conditions, the text aims to answer the research problem concerning whether child and youth work in soccer, considering its potential damage to physical and psychological development, is properly regulated in Brazil. The conclusion is that there is insufficient legislation related to the protection of the interests of this group regarding the activities developed in the context of soccer, which ends up denoting a disregard for the peculiar condition of a person in the process of development. The aging of the world population poses numerous challenges for organizations, including the retention of an increasingly age diverse workforce. Drawing on psychological contract and social exchange theories, this study examines the effect of age-diversity practices on workers' subjective well-being and turnover intention through a relational psychological contract. A sample of 257 Portuguese workers answered a questionnaire. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was applied to test the mediation model. The results showed that the existence of age-diversity practices contributes to the development of a relational psychological contract, which, in turn, leads to higher levels of well-being and lower turnover intentions. In this paper, we aim to reassess the relevance of the concept of subjection in the guise of the contribution of Donald Winnicott. Traditionally associated to psychological development theories and more recently to identitarianism,the ideas of the English psychoanalyst are usually eschewed in contemporary debates regarding the deconstruction of the subject and the critique of identities. Advancing a repositioning of Winnicott in this debate, we propose the idea of a double turn, the first organizing the pre-subjective position that Winnicott named as being; and the second turn, the emergence of the subject itself from the dialectics of destruction x survival of the other. Poet Fernando Pessoa and psychiatrist C. G. Jung developed their works consonant with their biographies. Both described episodes that can be interpreted as mediumistic, seeking to understand them psychologically. In current psychological literature, mediumship is associated to the concept of personality dissociation. In this regard, this article examines the relationship between dissociation and mediumship based on Pessoa's and Jung's biographical episodes, in light of analytical psychology and anomalistic psychology. It is hypothesized that they experienced creative, non-pathological dissociations, although some level of suffering was involved. Pessoa's experiences are related to his hetoronymic production, whereas Jung's are tied with the development of his psychological model, which offers elements for a psychobiographical and artistic study of the poet. Discussions about childhood have been constant in research carried out in recent decades, since puerile education has taken shape through its legal insertion in basic education, raising concerns about the role of daycare for young children. Under this aegis, the article, based on qualitative research of a bibliographic nature, aims to promote reflections about the contributions of the Historical-Cultural Psychology theory in relation to the importance of the movement for the development of children from birth to 3 years old. The study presents the social relationship, mediated by language, as a conductor of thought and motor action, being a preponderant factor for the intentional mastery of movements and for the appropriation of body knowledge. In early childhood education, national official documents recognize the importance of working with the body and indicate that in daycare, a space that allows for more organized social interactions, it is necessary to implement pedagogical practices that explore the child's body in various possibilities. The study could conclude that movement is a motor activity that must be developed, and must be considered in the actions taken by the teacher, in order to promote the appropriation of human culture. Relationships established in the family, such as the father-child activation relationship, interfere in the child's behavior. To understand the relationships between father-child activation, family functioning and child behavior, a study was conducted with 12 two-parent hetero-affective families with preschool children. It was used: Sociodemographic Questionnaire; Risk Situation; Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales; and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. It was found that: eight children were classified as activated, three as under-activated and one as overactivated; the functioning of families is balanced and/or rigidly cohesive; and in the child's behavior it was verified high prosocial behavior and low scores in difficulties. Abstract: This article discusses the theories and pedagogical practices of two great educators of the last century - Janusz Korczak and Paulo Freire. The first was a Polish Jew who spent much of his life at Warsaw, where he implemented his ideas on children’s education. Said ideas will be presented here as seen on the Mały Przegląd (Little Review), a journal founded in 1926 and extinguished in September 1939 with the outbreak of World War II. The second was a Brazilian educator made known for his work on the reading and writing of adult workers. Though Korczak worked with children and Freire with adults, they still had much in common since both fought for the right to education for the oppressed of their society. Furthermore, based on the Little Review, I analyse the social and economic profile of children readers; the role of teachers; and, finally, the educational concepts that permeated the work of both educators. To conclude, I present some ideas on social media that are organized through reading and writing capable of raising the social awareness of the disadvantaged.

Abstract Adolescents undergo major biopsychosocial changes and having a life purpose can be a protection for positive development. This study analyzed the life purpose of 18 adolescents (15-20 years old, with an average family income of R$ 1,625.00), holders of scholarship from a social program in a Science & Technology Center. They answered the Scale of Life Purpose for Adolescents Questionnaire and participated in a focus group about the impact of this program in their life project. The responses were reviewed using the Software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires, and were organized in two corpora – Life Project and Social Program. Ten-year projects are based on the Material, Study/Work, and Positive Aspiration dimensions. Adolescents show a life purpose connected to their community that can be caused by the fact of being a participant in a social program, enabling better access to education and a closer contact with the community.

Human Development Psychology studies changes throughout life and the individual's interactions with the environment. Human behaviors are sensitive to the environments in which they are inserted, thus, it is asked how Human Development Psychology can help in the understanding of individuals inserted in public institutions, enabling personal and organizational development? We present a critical bibliographic review on people management policies, considering the personal and professional development of the public servant. It was identified that the public organization proposes the permanent development of its servants through training that promotes individual competences with a focus on the provision of public service, where the human development and emotional well-being of this servant is not the objective in this government action federal. However, in this process of managerial and conceptual changes, there are still no specific models for the public organization to manage and take care of the physical / mental health of its employees. The sense of ownership reflects people's understanding and judgment regarding the appropriation and use of available resources. From an evolutionary approach, the aims of this paper were to conduct a theoretical analysis on the ontogenesis of the sense of property, seeking to describe the criteria used by children to assign property to someone and to put forward an explanatory hypothesis that there is an adaptive advantage in this capacity. Preliminary conclusions suggest that children, in different cultures, use varying criteria to make judgments and inferences about possess and ownership, and that the early emergence of this ability would play an important role in social interactions, such as minimizing conflicts arising from resource disputes. From theoretical reflections driven by the Network of Meanings and Gender Theories, this work aims to investigate senses and meanings constructed on experience as a drag queen in adult life. The methodology used was based in biographical interviews, carried out with five participants, between 20 and 39 years of age, who have or already had experience as drag queens. For the analysis, a microgenetic approach was performed, correlating elements of the Net of Meanings with the narratives. Adulthood does not appear as a linear course, being permeated by ruptures, conflicts and negotiations of meanings and positions. Adulthood becomes the stage on which it is possible to occupy certain spaces of power to put into practice desires and curiosities that sometimes go back to childhood. The drag queen emerges as an element related to this process, tied to several positive (art, accomplishment, freedom) and negative (shame, prejudice, degrading) senses and meanings. This study aims to understand the representativeness of Vocational Psychology across Psychology courses taught in 2019/20 academic year, in Portugal. Frequency and content analysis of each courses’ curricular units were run, to distribute these units by general Psychology specialties and advanced Vocational Psychology specialty, defined by Portuguese Psychologists Association. Among 173 Portuguese higher education institutions, 31 teach Psychology courses, making a total of 109 courses. Of these, 26 are undergraduate, 55 masters, five integrated masters and 23 doctorates degrees. In regard to the 1167 curricular units analyzed, from de 46 courses selected, approximately 2.7% address themes of Vocational and Career Development Psychology. This demonstrate the need to affirm this area of knowledge in Psychology training, to promote useful key competencies for personal career management. This article discusses the narrative as an activity that encourages higher psychological functions, such as rational language, verbal thought, voluntary attention, mediated memory and imagination, and how it constitutes a fundamental experience to the learning and the children's development. Situations of interaction are analyzed, during which the children were requested by their teacher to organize discursive sequences about facts of their life and observed stories. This study is based on the Cultural-Historical Theory and the work of Jerome Bruner about the narrative as a category of thought with and about the world. The following propositions stem from this discussion: the higher psychological functions act reciprocally on the course of the narrative; the participation of the teacher and their peers helps in the (re)structuring of the language and the thought of the children; questions from another person allows the narrator to qualify the trajectory of his own thought and make it more complex; active listening is one of the fundamental conditions for the conduction of the narrative thought. It is then concluded that the opportunities during which narratives are employed constitute one of the primordial activities of the children's education, as they utilize a form of discursive thought that organizes/makes typically human psychological functions more complex. Despite the growing interest in Christian Wolff in the last decades, comprehending his ideas still poses challenges and obstacles. On the one hand, it is not uncommon in the history of philosophy to find Wolff interpreted from a Kantian perspective. On the other, the history of psychology tends to neglect the role Wolff played in the development of an autonomous psychological science, especially in the German tradition, and culminating in a radical rupture between philosophy and psychology from the twentieth century onward. The goal of this paper is to situate historically the Wolffian project of a science of the soul, thereby showing not only its specific meaning, but also its main contributions and consequences to the development of scientific psychology in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The aim of this paper is to present participant research from a group of older adult women (aged over sixty years) reading and writing poetry. The research monitored whether reading and writing poetry helped in the production of new meanings about aging, as well as the reflection that the older adults had about the aging development phase and its aesthetic, social and cultural ramifications. After reading the poems produced and the descriptive notes of the meetings, the following categories of analysis emerged: the meetings as an area of appropriation, conviviality and re- flection for the participants; society and the possibility of an active position in aging; the appropriation of the body in aging: experiences and criticism of the aesthetic model; and memory: recollections and meanings. As a result of the poetry workshop a space was established for creation, sharing and social recognition, recovery of memories and reflections about the stigmas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently, History of Psychology in Latin American has been focusing on the mechanisms of institutionalization of Psychology and, in this scenario, the history of undergraduate programs has been a recurrent object. Considering Brazil, such research focuses on specific institutions located, mainly, in the South and Southeast regions of the country. Thus, research in Regional History has become urgent, i.e., that considers the development of Psychology in other locations of the country. This study describes and analyzes social demands for the establishment of the undergraduate program of Psychology at the Faculdade Dom Aquino de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras/Faculdades Unidades Católicas de Mato Grosso (FADAFI/FUCMT), in 1975. In addition to this, it reflects upon its curriculum. This was the second undergraduate program of Psychology from the state of Mato Grosso and the only one in Campo Grande until 1999. To achieve its main goal, this study highlights the timeframe of training of the first class (1974-1980) and it uses primary textual and oral sources. The interpretation of these sources connected to the contextual aspects of Mato Grosso at the time, suggests the Missão Salesiana de Mato Grosso (MSMT) as an important vector of the development of Higher Education in the state. In addition to this, it was observed a close relationship between the creation of the undergraduate course investigated and the scenario of modernization promoted in the second and third quartiles of the 20th century, in the country. Finally, it is seen that this program was established idiosyncratically, serving a majority of women, remembered as mature and politicized. Thus, despite the methodological constraints of the study, its results help in an extended understanding of the history of Psychology in Brazil. They also make possible a better understanding of the relationship between Church and State in relation to the establishment of Psychology undergraduate programs in the country.
