Abstract

Hymenopteran parasitoids strongly associated with the sugarcane borer [Diatraea saccharalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae)] may be found both in organic and conventional sugarcane farming systems. This study aimed to sample parasitoids associated with sugarcane borer in organic, organic near a forest fragment and conventional systems. Two colors of Moericke traps were used (yellow and white) to collect insect samples, and faunistic analyses were performed to determine the composition of parasitoids in each management type. A total of 287 insects were collected, with the most abundant families being Diapriidae (44.44 %), Eulophidae (37.5 %) and Braconidae (18.06 %). The most abundant genus in the organic system was Omphale (Eulophidae), Omphale (Eulophidae) in the organic system near the forest fragment, and Omopria and Coptera (Diapriidae) in the conventional system. The parasitoids were more abundant in the organic system (43.06 %), followed by the organic system near the forest fragment (36.81 %) and the conventional system (20.14 %). The yellow trap was the most effective in attracting parasitoids, which were generally more abundant in organic systems, regardless of proximity to forest fragments.

Abstract

Existem poucas informações sobre as espécies nativas de himenópteros parasitoides de moscas-das-frutas da Região Neotropical, o que objetivou a realização do presente trabalho. Assim, coletas de goiaba (Psidium guajava L.) foram realizadas de janeiro a março de 2009 na Área Experimental em Estudos de Produção Agroecológica (AEEPA) da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, no município de Capão do Leão, Rio Grande do Sul. Os frutos foram levados ao laboratório, contados, pesados e acondicionados individualmente em potes plásticos contendo areia umedecida e telado na parte superior. Semanalmente, o substrato foi peneirado, os pupários recolhidos e acondicionados em placas de Petri com papel filtro umedecido com água destilada. Os pupários foram mantidos em sala climatizada (26±2°C, 60±10% de umidade relativa e 12h fotofase) onde foram efetuadas observações semanais para verificar a emergência de moscas e/ou parasitoides e posterior identificação das espécies. Trichopria anastrephae Lima (Hymenoptera: Diapriidae) foi obtida de pupários de Anastrepha fraterculus, com parasitismo de 5,8%.There is little information on native species of hymenopteran parasitoids of fruit flies from the Neotropical region. Para a captura dos insetos foram utilizadas armadilhas tipo Möericke, de cor amarela, em duas áreas, uma mantida roçada e outra com a presença de plantas invasoras. em cada área foram instaladas seis armadilhas ao nível do solo, distanciadas entre si por 22,5 m. As amostragens, semanais, foram realizadas entre março de 2008 e fevereiro de 2009. Foram coletados 19.861 himenópteros parasitoides dos quais 70,8% ocorreram na área com plantas invasoras e 29,2% na roçada. As famílias mais frequentemente coletadas foram Diapriidae, Scelionidae, Ceraphronidae, Eulophidae, Mymaridae, Encyrtidae e Ichneumonidae; as demais famílias apresentaram frequencias relativas inferiores a 3%. As plantas invasoras presentes na área foram Ageratum conyzoides L., Bidens pilosa L., Emilia sanchifolia (L.) DC., Sonchus oleraceus L. (Asteraceae), Alternanthera tenella Colla (Amaranthaceae), Commelina benghalensis L. (Commelinaceae), Ipomoea sp. (Convolvulaceae), Euphorbia hirta L. (Euphorbiaceae), Cassia hirsuta L., Desmodium barbatum (L.), Indigofera hirsuta L. (Fabaceae), Sida sp. (Malvaceae), Borreria verticillata (L.) (Rubiaceae), Lantana camara L. e Stachytarphetta cayenensis (Rich.) M. Vahl (Verbenaceae); para algumas delas há relatos na literatura como fornecedoras de recursos alimentares e suplementares para a sobrevivência de himenópteros parasitoides. The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of vegetation cover on the abundance of Hymenopteran parasitoids associated with a cover coconut palm, in Linhares, ES, Brazil. Yellow Möericke traps were used to capture the insects in two areas, one kept clear and the other with the presence of vegetation cover. In each area six traps were installed at ground level, spaced 22.5 m apart. The samples were collected weekly between March 2008 and February 2009. We collected 19.861 parasitoids of which 70.8% occurred in the area with vegetation cover and 29.2% in the clear area. The families collected most frequently were Diapriidae, Scelionidae, Ceraphronidae, Eulophidae, Mymaridae, Encyrtidae and Ichneumonidae, and the remaining families had relative frequencies of less than 3%. Invasive plants in the area were Ageratum conyzoides L., Bidens pilosa L., Emilia sanchifolia (L.) DC., Sonchus oleraceus L. (Asteraceae), Alternanthera tenella Colla (Amaranthaceae), Commelina benghalensis L. (Commelinaceae), Ipomoea sp. (Convolvulaceae), Euphorbia hirta L. Abstract

RESUMO Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho conhecer os himenópteros parasitoides associados às moscas-das-frutas (Diptera: Tephritidae) de ocorrência em pomar urbano de goiabeira (Psidium guajava L.) (Myrtaceae), em Fortaleza, Ceará, bem como determinar a flutuação populacional desses organismos nesse ecossistema. Realizaram-se coletas de frutos maduros em plantas de goiabeira e frutos recém-caídos, no período de novembro de 1999 a outubro de 2000. Os parasitoides obtidos pertencem às famílias Braconidae, Chalcididae, Figitidae (Eucoilinae), Diapriidae (Diapriinae) e Eulophidae, sendo que os da família Figitidae são os mais comuns. As maiores incidências desses organismos ocorreram nos meses de janeiro e março de 2000. ABSTRACT This study was aimed to identify the parasitoids associated to fruit-fly species (Diptera: Tephritidae) occurring in an urban guava (Psidium guajava L.) (Myrtaceae) orchard located in Fortaleza, Ceará State, Brazil, as well as to determine the populational dynamics of these organ isms in the ecosystem. Ripe and newly fallen guava fruits, from November 1999 to December 2000 were collected. The parasitoids obtained belong to the families Braconidae, Chalcididae, Figitidae (Eucoilinae), Diapriidae (Diapriinae) and Eulophidae. The most common parasitoids belong to the family Figitidae. The highest occurrences were in January and March 2000.
