Background: Education professionals have shared changes in the work process due to the incorporation of technological innovations and the scenario of the precariousness of work relationships. Objective: To describe injuries and incapacity for work among Brazilian teaching professionals. Method: The study analyzed all illness/diseases of compulsory notification and work-related disability in the group of teaching professionals (CBO 23 and CBO 33) from 2007 to 2016, based on notifications from the Notifiable Diseases Information System – SINAN. Results: The descriptive analysis highlighted a higher frequency of serious accidents, accidents with biological material, Repetitive Strain Injury/Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (RSI/WMSD), and exogenous intoxication and mental disorder. Temporal evolution of morbidity indicators was recorded for each condition of interest and stratification by disability. Disabilities in this category are related to serious accidents, RSI/WMSD, and mental disorders, predominantly in females, in addition to conditioning factors in the work context. Conclusion: We identified differences between empirical research and disease surveillance in the analyzed category. Worker health surveillance should be reinforced for a proper dimensioning of diseases to reflect the health/disease process, thus facilitating an early diagnosis and supporting prevention actions for workers. Scientific literature has repeatedly demonstrated the difficulty of implementing relevant and sustained educational innovations. In this article, we defend that a deep and permanent change can only be achieved if the professional identity of the teachers participating in the innovation is changed. From the perspective of the Dialogical Self Theory, this change of identity implies a change in the I-positions of the individual participants, but also of their identity as a team or We-position.

In this special issue, we argue for an Educational Psychology inspired by Hubert Hermans' Dialogical Self Theory, which refutes restrictive and deterministic cognitive psychology interpretations, complements the socio-constructivist approach of classical "black box" and, explains how intra-psychological dynamics, the mental society, is created and interacts with external society. The notion of I-position and its great versatility appears as central, as well as dialogue, both in its public and private performance, as a self-dialogue. Dialogue is the basis of teaching, learning, thinking, and decision making. It is also the foundation on which the professional identity is built. Teaching, tutoring, advising, innovating, undertaking, investigating are, in short, different ways of dialoguing with ourselves and with the world, giving meaning to what we do.

- Abstract
The scope of this article is to analyze the association between teachers' self-rated health and the conditions in which they work in Basic Education schools in Brazil. It involved a cross-sectional study, carried out between 2015 and 2016, representative of Basic Education teachers in the country, the outcome variable of which was self-rated health (SRH). The explanatory variables were the work-related characteristics. To assess the factors associated with SRH, the Proportional Odds Logistic Regression Model was used. The prevalence of poor SRH was 27%. The probability of poor SRH was significantly higher for the group that reported episodes of verbal violence (OR=1.26; 95%CI 1.09-1.44), work pressure (OR=1.18; 95%CI 1, 04-1.33), and a commute to school of more than 50 minutes (OR=1.19; 95%CI 1.03-1.38). The probability of poor SRH was significantly better for those who reported having enough time to complete their tasks (OR=0.77; 95%CI 0.64-0.92), social support (OR=0.79; 95%CI 0.69-0.89) and satisfaction with their workload (OR=0.79; 95%CI 0.69-0.91). Actions on the school environment and organization and improvements in the transport of teachers to work are desirable.

- Abstract
Violence against teachers is a global concern and has a negative impact on the development of society. In this context, this study aimed to review definitions of violence against teachers to develop an integrated consensus and conceptual model. A scoping review of the literature was carried out to include articles that could answer the guiding question of the study: "What are the definitions and dimensions of student violence against teachers in teaching?" The studies included in the review, it was identified that violence against the teacher can be defined as a set of actions and situations caused by students in an insidious or chronic way in the workplace and/or through digital medium, mediated by the perception of violence, the copping mechanism of the teacher and the organizational management of the violence. The integrated model of violence against teachers comprises conceptual antecedents, such as previous experience with violence against the teacher, the cultural definition of violence and the perception of victimization. Violence against teachers is a multidimensional construct that results from the interaction with the student in the organizational and social context. The consequences of violence against the teacher include psychological, emotional, biological, professional and social harm.

- Abstract
This study aimed to problematize aspects of the work of professors in relation to gender, assessment policies, and health. For this purpose, a qualitative social investigation was conducted within the aspect of participatory studies and the views of materialist feminism. An analysis of the material was carried out through content analysis, according to the topic, using four main themes: conflicts between professors' work and domestic work; professors' work, motherhood, and guilt; policies for the assessment of professors and gender relations; and the sexual division of labor and teaching. It was possible to perceive just how much the demands of the productive sphere have gone beyond the time of the workday and into the reproductive sphere and the private life of professors, compromising the struggle for health and leading to processes of suffering and illness. The theme of the sexual division of labor in public universities appears to be an important issue that highlights work overload and psychological illness, especially at a time when the teaching profession is becoming increasingly competitive. In conclusion, we believe that there is an imperative need for investments in public policies that can guarantee gender equality in higher education.

- Abstract
The scope of this paper was to investigate the relationship between Arterial Hypertension (AH) and the occupational profile of teachers of basic public education and present a theoretical model. A probabilistic sample was adopted by clusters, with AH as the dependent variable. The independent variables were grouped in thematic blocks (Sociodemographic Characteristics, Occupational Profile, Behaviors and Health Outcomes) that composed the theoretical model. The analyses were corrected by the sample design. Hierarchical logistic regression was conducted. The prevalence of AH was 25%, and 58% reported dissatisfaction with the work. There was a higher probability of AH among older teachers (OR = 3.7), without postgraduate qualification (OR = 1.4), who also worked in the private network (OR = 2.6), who had a higher salt intake (OR = 1.7), with a high waist-hip ratio (OR = 1.9) and hypercholesterolemia / hypertriglyceridemia (OR = 1, 5) and a lower chance among females (OR = 0.5), who had other work activity (OR = 0.6) and were dissatisfied with the work (OR = 0.6). Thus, the occupational profile of teachers had an influence on AH. The relationship between work and teacher health demands attention and care, with measures that preserve and promote the health and well-being of teachers.

Abstract Background: School environment is conducive to accidents, because it is where a large number of children and young people interact, developing various activities, eager to explore the world. Objectives: To determine the prevalence of accidents in school space, occurring in schools in the municipality of Viseu, in the school years 2009-2012; knowing the conceptions, attitudes and feelings that educators have towards school accidents and their prevention. Methods: a quantitative and descriptive investigation (study 1) and a qualitative investigation (study 2). The study 1 is based on the analysis of the "application form for school and peri-school accidents," on file in the Public Health Unit in the Grouping Health Centers Dão-Lafões, 2009 to 2012. The study 2 is conducted using the application of a questionnaire with 19 questions to12 participants. Results: A total of 3 years academic study (September 2009 to June 2012) were recorded by schools in the municipality of Viseu 1890 accidents. In an analysis of loss ratio by students enrolled and school year observed that in the school year 2009/2010 the loss ratio was 3.91%, and 4.49% in the following school years. It is the third cycle of the EB that most accidents happen, and fall and crash in physical education class the most common type and place. In the total of the twelve participants in the qualitative study (Study 2), only two perception accidents in school as a frequent event. Conclusions: The cooperation of healthcare, particularly of primary health care, with the school as part of primary prevention of accidents in school space (measures that prevent the occurrence of accidents or that reduce the transfer of energy to the victim) and secondary (measures that reduce severity of injury, that is, those involving care for the victim) should be improved.
