This study sought to understand the meaning of the performance of a Family Health Strategy team in a socially vulnerable community. Grounded Data Theory was used as a methodological benchmark and the data collection technique consisted of interviews with twenty-five Family Health Strategy professionals between July and December of 2009. Data analysis revealed that the Family Health Strategy can be seen as a facilitator and stimulator of the process of expansion and consolidation of healthcare networks. They represent a new approach in community intervention, by viewing the human being as a multi-dimensional and singular being, inserted in his/her real context. A new assistential model is essentially being developed by the reorganization of healthcare practices, assisted by the multiplicity of complex relationships, interactions and associations that occur within the social and family context.

This study aimed to comprehending the meaning of ecological care from the point of view of students and teachers of the health area of a Public Institution of Higher Education. It was an exploratory qualitative research conducted by the method of the Theory Based on the Data, for which ten in depth interviews were carried out between September/2008 and April/2009, distributed in two sample groups. The process of data collection and analysis culminated with the formulation of the theory "Viewing ecological care as a broad and complex phenomenon", which was discussed through the view of complexity. One concluded that the academic environment is constituted by an appropriate space for the development of the systemic abilities, capable of contemplating the relations, interactions and necessary associations for the comprehension and promotion of the environmental sustainability.

The focus of the paper is the meaning of ecological care as understood by students and educators and how this issue is addressed in programs in the fields of health sciences and health care in a federal public institution in southern Brazil. Our goal is to discuss the central category. The methodology adopted was Grounded Theory. Ten interviews were carried out among two sample groups between September, 2008, and April, 2009. The results led to the design of the theory: considering ecological care as broad and complex phenomenon, and the core category: the ecological care that results from relations, interactions and associations within the global environment. We concluded that rejecting anthropocentrism is not enough for the survival of all forms of life in the planet. This survival demands educating for ecocentrism and for systemic-functional interactivity and adaptability. We must go beyond speeches and world conferences and redo the web of interdependence of all beings and elements of nature.

We objective to discuss the Users' Rights Booklet of the Health Unified System with patients and family members who had looked for attendance in public hospital service. One has chosen the action research, a qualitative and constructive method, which takes into account collective participation and planned action for changes of situations. The data were collected along with the research participants' discussions by means of weekly meetings throughout 2007. The codified speeches were analyzed and resulted in three themes: rights and duties of healthcare users; qualification of health professionals; receptivity to healthcare users. The users' rights booklet consists of an important means for citizens to know their rights of access to the healthcare system, allowing them to contribute in a critical and co-responsible way to discussions and actions in favor of a better healthcare system.

This study is the result of an expanded research-action project aimed at presenting and discussing the main thematic units that emerged from discussions conducted with a group of users about booklet regarding users' rights from the SUS (Brazilian Health System). Between May and July 2007, weekly meetings were held, recorded and followed by qualitative research data analysis until reaching the thematic units. The results show that granting access to the public health system is not enough. We must create political awareness so that users do not become mere recipients or interlocutors of government proposals. We must ensure that all social actors engage themselves in the fight for the transformation of society by making use of their rights and fulfilling their duty.

This study is the result of an extended project, named: The systematization of nursing care in the perspective of complex thinking. The objective of this qualitative study is to better comprehend the meaning of the systematization of nursing care among healthcare professionals. The Data-Based Theory was used as a methodological reference. Data were collected by interviewing three sample groups, in a total of fifteen healthcare professionals. Data codification and analysis led us to the central theme: Viewing the Systematization of Nursing Care (SNC) as an Interactive and Complex Phenomenon. This theme is complemented by two phenomena. In this article, we discuss the phenomenon: Verifying the necessity of on interactive, complementary, and multi-professional process. The Systematization of Nursing Care is part of a process that has been developing over time by nurses committed to improve the care given to the patient, since they view the necessity for interactive, complementary, and multi-professional care.

In this essay authors discuss the current proposal of permanent education by the Health Ministry, which is focused on the formation of human resources for the Public Health System. It covers education as a whole and specifically adult education, an issue that directly affects nursing, as nursing contributes with the largest number of healthcare workers, constituting the central focus of public policies. In this way authors present the main controversies and suggest adherence to the government program, understanding that for the first time there is a comprehensive project in this area that is intended to be permanent.
