This article aims to analyze the relations between the UN and Bolsonaro government in 2019 in the scope of foreign policy - considering the importance that the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) has for the Armed Forces and the international projection of Brazil. The methodology used in this article consists of bibliographical research relating primary and secondary materials (theses, articles, and dissertations) with recent journalistic material on federal management. The result found in this article demonstrates that, despite the divergence between sectors of the federal government regarding the directions of Brazilian foreign policy, due to issues of realignment at the international level, the approximation of the viability of relations with the UN through peace missions it's not present in the plans of the Executive and the Armed Forces, although the military has prestige for this type of operation. VIRTUAL universities & colleges , *DISTRIBUTION (Probability theory) , *RECORDS management , *MATERIALS management , *TEACHING aids - Abstract
The university professor's journey is based on four pillars: teaching, research, extension and management. Thus, these pillars are materialized in many products, including projects, reports, articles, abstracts, theoretical essays, production of teaching material, which may require specific advice to better deal with such an extensive academic-university production. Thus, the general objective of this study is to verify whether university professors have the need for remote assistance for their academic and administrative activities. The theoretical approach centered on virtual advice and on the university professor's work period, and the research is of a qualitative approach, with the application of a questionnaire to 26 professors from various parts of Brazil. The data analysis techniques were content analysis and frequency distribution. The results show that teachers have been involved with the four pillars of the academy, with teaching and research being the most detached and that there are possibilities for hiring virtual advisory services for academic demands, mainly in document management/filing, preparation/review pedagogical materials and e-mail management. Soon, this field of remote work being a possibility to be explored by the secretarial professional. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Hospital units are fundamental to the health of society and the efficient management of their resources enables a greater demand to be met, from the provision of a greater number of beds, provision of medications and the capacity of professionals in an appropriate manner. Material management in hospitals represents a major driver of operations in a unit, due to capillarity with other areas and the cost associated with its management. The methodology of the work initially considered the diagnosis of the critical areas of the Hospital, selection of sectors and the structuring of activities for the application of lean tools and techniques. As a result, the sectors of pharmacy, nursing station, surgical centre, delivery room and emergency room of the Maternity Hospital were contemplated, where the use of visual management, Kanban system, 5s and the medication identification by colour, it was possible to reduce error rates in meeting requests, formulation of measures to combat waste in the preparation of medication, improvements in the productivity of health professionals and development of indicators for hospital management. Objective: to describe the experience of coping and changing the demands of nurses working in a Emergency Care Unit that has consolidated itself as a reference unit for screening patients affected by COVID-19. Method: a descriptive study, in the experience report modality, about the experience of nursing assistants working in a Emergency Care Unit. Results: the nurses in this report assumed a leadership role in the team at the Emergency Care Unit, in order to continuously manage both technical aspects and supply management, with an emergency plan to ensure the preparation and safety of the nursing workforce. Therefore, it was necessary for these professionals to empower themselves with knowledge, so that it was possible to conduct training and qualifications with their own teams. Conclusion: the reported experience shows that, even in critical periods for the health system as determined by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is possible to make changes and adaptations necessary to the moment. In addition, the crisis demonstrates that nurses are more than frontline workers, but they are also the ones who take the lead to make the changes happen. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

===================================== Objective: To analyze the notifications of technical complaints in technical surveillance at a public university hospital. The dissertation project was developed as part of the conclusion of the Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, in a business context, at Riopele. The main objective of the project focused on improving the management of production support materials, namely maintenance, packaging and administrative materials. The research methodology used was action-research, wich began with the literature review that supported the project. Then the current situation of the company was analyzed at the level of materials management. A few problems were detected such as an excess of materials scattered around the factory with no record in the computer system, stock ruptures, outdated administrative processes for the acquisition of materials and delays in the delivery of materials to the production sections. In order to mitigate the identified problems, some improvement proposals were developed, which focused mainly on the development of a centralization model for maintenance materials with suppliance to the sections mainly through a kanban system, the creation of stock management policies and updating the method of purchase and receipt of materials. The results with the implemented stock management policies as well as the reception and supply process to the production sections, translated into an 85% reduction in the delivery time for a specific material, a reduction in open purchase orders, a reduction in stock ruptures and 98% reduction in the waiting time for computer systems updates. As for the proposed model of centralization of maintenance materials, a 50% reduction in the monetary value of line warehouses and a 71% reduction in the space occupied per material are expected.

The present article attempts to attract some of the main factors that influence the performance of the supply chain (PCS) in small and mediumsized industries (PMP), located in the Circuit das Águas Paulista, about 150 KM from São Paulo Capital. The document also strives to obtain the degree of perception on the companies' point of view of the supply chain, in relation to the aspects experienced in practice, and to the higher levels of importance, through the selection of actions. This helps to identify the main problems in terms of alignment and integration, in order to strengthen the relationship between theory and practice. By helping to identify the main problems in terms of alignment and integration to narrow the current gap between theory and practice. For this, four categories are studied: Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Collaborative Material Management, Production Planning and Control (PCP) and Risk Management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Global rates of food waste are high and occur throughout the production chain, including Food and Nutrition Units (FNU). School-Kitchen is an FNU associated with routine teaching and learning for the training of professionals in the area of Food and Beverage. This study aimed to evaluate food waste in the school-kitchen at a public university in Bahia, Brazil, and to propose strategies for its control. Foods were classified into five groups: fruits; vegetables; eggs and dairy products; meat and non-perishables. Data collection was performed using spreadsheets recording excess food and temperature control of equipment registered in 2017 to 2019. The total food waste in the period evaluated was 121.3 kg and non-perishable group had the highest rate (mean of 19.2 kg/year). The three main causes of waste were: expired shelf life, spoilage and inadequate storage temperature. Cold storage equipment indicated high temperature variability and low maintenance. Aiming to reduce waste, university students applied conservation techniques and developed new products. These strategies promote the use of excess food in other classes and favor the reduction of the waste rate at the UAN. The results found showed the causes of wasted food at school-kitchen and showed actions to control it, highlighting the relevance of teaching-learning proposals that contribute to innovation and professional training.

Analyzing the competitiveness scenario among companies, the purchasing sector has become a strategic sector, so it is possible to perceive the organizations' constant search for strategic models that allow an alignment with the results expected by the corporations. The present article aims to propose an alternative method for strategic management in the acquisition of materials and services, through Peter Kraljic's purchasing model, which analyzed the materials from the financial impacts caused by them and the risk of supplies that these represent. Alongside this is proposed the use of Game Theory as game strategy to be played for each group of material. For this, the method of research used was the hypothetical-deductive method, as well as the literature review, made through the reading of books, magazines and periodicals that report and relate to the subject. In the end, one of the observed results is a strategic matrix for acquisition of materials, where for each group of materials, after classified as financial risk and risk of supply a type of game is proposed. However, it is observed that the field of study is very vast and susceptible of new studies.

The objective of this work is to propose a model for sustainable supplier segentation based on the segmentation approach of Rezaei and Ortt (2012) and the Hesitant Fuzzy-TOPSIS technique (BEG; RASHID, 2013). Among the contributions of this work are a systematic review of the literature on quantitative models for segmenting suppliers. Through this review, it was possible to identify some research gaps, such as the scarcity of segmentation models focused on sustainability and the lack of a decision model to support decision makers in situations of hesitation and uncertainty, in which it is preferable the use of linguistic expressions. The model proposed in this work aims to fill these research gaps and it is another contribution this present study. With the aid of Microsoft Excel © software, a computational model was developed and applied in a Brazilian Hydroelectric Powerplant. The results of this application, along with the conduction of a sensitivity analysis, indicate that the proposed model presents consistent results and it is an alternative to overcome the research gaps described above.

Não recebi financiamento Materials Management is the set of activities developed by an organization in order to supply the users' needs with the materials necessary for the normal performance of their respective duties, thus avoiding losses to the parties involved. In this context, the present study aims to analyze the activities developed in the Warehouse Department - DeAlm, which corresponds to a Central warehouse of the Universidade Federal de São Carlos - UFSCar, located in the São Carlos campus, responsible for the supply of materials, and related activities, for all units, administrative or academic at the São Carlos campus, as well as the campi de Araras and Lagoa do Sino, and, eventually, for the Sorocaba campus. Through the use of process management, an analysis of the current situation of the processes carried out by DeAlm was developed in order to develop proposals for improvements to it, and, in particular, for aspects related to demand management and stock management. The research methodology used to carry out this work was a research of a descriptive and exploratory nature, where, through the case study, information was collected on the DeAlm structure, its processes, its stocks and the control of existing information. In addition to this information survey, other bibliographic or legislation sources were considered. Through the analysis of the mapping of the current situation of the studied processes, twelve proposals for improvements related to demand and stock management and to the service of customers using the DeAlm services were identified. The proposals prepared seek to improve the stock control system, avoid stockouts, implement performance indicators that can assist in the planning, execution and control of the activities carried out by DeAlm. In addition, the proposals seek to reduce uncertainties and build a reliable record history for checking and choosing demand forecasting methods that best adapt to the reality of DeAlm users, in addition to assisting DeAlm customers in executing their orders and planning both to perform and to receive their orders, thus preventing the units from having their routine activities hampered by the lack of material. This study compares inventory system management methods for non-perishable retail goods considering the lost sales case. Several methods, based upon models with different assumptions, are tested in environments with characteristics defined on the basis of demand pattern, relations among inventory costs and others. The analysis was made using a simulation software that evaluates the system performance at each period of time in a given time span. The software contains procedures for demand forecasting based upon exponential smoothing, for physical and economic accounting and for determination of the parameters of each management method. The methods based upon periodic review models and probabilistic demand outperformed, respectively, continuous review and deterministic demand models. Besides, the methods that adopt maximun lead-times outperformed those that adopt mean lead-times. The comparative performances of the methods were not affected by changes in demand randomness. The methods that forecast the demand of various periods ahead outperformed the others when there are peaks in demand, but in environments with other demand patterns (steady, increasing or decreasing demand, without seasonality or with smooth seasonality in the short time) similar results were yielded by these methods and those based upon periodic review and steady demand.

This paper aims to as a central theme a discussion about the obligation to comply with the principle of standardization in the acquisition of materials and goods by public institutions to law enforcement of item I, art. 15 of law n º 8.666/1993, which comprises material, compatibility, technical specifications and performance. The main objective is to propose systems for the standardization process of hospital medical materials for the HU/UFGD. Therefore, the specific objectives are: a) analyze the standardization activities of HU/UFGD hospital medical supplies; b) verify practices related to standardization of hospital medical materials developed in the HU’s/Ebserh; c) identify the perception of the standardization activities of hospital medical materials in the purchase processes of HU/UFGD; and d) propose a sector responsible for the standardization of hospital medical materials in the structure of the HU/UFGD. The methodological approach used is qualitative research, in order to obtain the best practices, to verify the barriers, backwardness and the difficulties and, mainly, to propose alternatives, actions and strategic models so that the managers can improve the public purchases. Documentary data were used to construct the panorama of procedures carried out for the standardization of materials and, in addition, semi-structured and open interviews were conducted with members of standardization committees in hospitals linked to the Ebserh network and managers of the material administration area of the HU/UFGD. As a result, it was observed that although hospitals have been looking for improvements in the services provided to society, specifically as regards the management of materials that are predominant in efficiency, the actions are shown to be incipient in the realization of the standardization of materials as advocated in Law 8.666/1993. To achieve standardization, it is necessary to prove the advantage through studies, reports, expertise, technical opinions, certificates, experience reports and testimonials. The results also point out that due recognition of the importance of the area by the top administration is necessary for the procedures to be carried out. Finally, guidelines were proposed that would allow the establishment of a structure for the regular development of materials standardization activities for HU/UFGD, considering the essentiality and the very important role of material management for public administration.

The requirement to manage inventories is a fact which permeates organizations in general, whether they are private or public. The main reason for this is that the stored materials assign a high load of immobilized resources. In a Federal Institution of Higher Education, the actions which aim at this end seek to offer the needed material for the smooth functioning of its activities, without being wasteful, also taking into account the resources, and legal devices involved in this practice. This way, mechanisms which contribute to the adequate dimensioning of stocks in public agencies are of great value to assist the decision making process of its managers, maximizing such use. The objective of this research is to propose a model for the scaling of inventory of the Federal Institution of Higher Education, considering its classification of inventory, demand forecast, as well as security stock and order point. The theoretical bases of this subject and its methods, the procedures of application of the techniques treated for the Institution's inventory, and the validation of the proposed method will be presented in an item of significant importance within the stock of consumer materials from an Institution Campus. The values of the techniques, which were proposed in the application for the chosen material - A4 paper -, were dimensioned as results. Also contributions were presented through the possibility of assistance to the decision-making process of public managers of such Institutions, both for the model and the quantitative achieved. It was concluded that the proposed model is valid, and its results can mean important subsidies in the management of materials of the Institution, as well as the basis for future applications in the public administration.
