The objective was to evaluate the performance of common double and triple transgenic hybrids for the production and post-harvest storage of green corn ears. In the field, the treatments consisted of two corn hybrids (AG 1051 and AG 8677), arranged in a randomized block design, with fourteen replications. For the characteristics evaluated in the laboratory at post-harvest, the treatments consisted of two corn hybrids (AG 1051 and AG 8677) and two types of storage (environment and modified environment), arranged in a completely randomized experimental design, in a 2 factorial scheme. x 2, with five repetitions. The following variables were evaluated: length of the husked and husked ear, diameter of the husked and husked ear, cob diameter, marketable husked and husked ear weight, cob weight, straw, grains, number of rows, average number of grains per ear, number of ears per plant, productivity and weight loss. The triple transgenic hybrid AG 8677 fits within the standards to be marketed 'in natura' as green corn; If the marketing of green corn at the producer level is by weight of the ear 'in natura', AG 1051 is recommended; If marketing is based on the number of ears 'in natura' or by weight of processed grains, AG 8677 is recommended; The environment modified with wet cloths was more effective in reducing weight loss during storage. El objetivo fue evaluar el comportamiento de híbridos transgénicos dobles y triples comunes para la producción y almacenamiento poscosecha de mazorcas de maíz verde. En campo, los tratamientos consistieron en dos híbridos de maíz (AG 1051 y AG 8677), dispuestos en un diseño de bloques al azar, con catorce repeticiones. Para las características evaluadas en laboratorio en poscosecha, los tratamientos consistieron en dos híbridos de maíz (AG 1051 y AG 8677) y dos tipos de almacenamiento (ambiente y ambiente modificado), dispuestos en un diseño experimental completamente al azar, en un factorial 2 esquema x 2, con cinco repeticiones. Se evaluaron las siguientes variables: longitud de la mazorca descascarillada y descascarillada, diámetro de la mazorca descascarillada y descascarillada, diámetro de la mazorca, peso de la mazorca descascarillada y desgranada comercializable, peso de la mazorca, paja, granos, número de hileras, número promedio de granos por mazorca, número de mazorcas por planta, productividad y pérdida de peso. El triple híbrido transgénico AG 8677 se ajusta a los estándares para ser comercializado 'in natura' como maíz verde; Si la comercialización de maíz verde a nivel de productor es por peso de la mazorca 'in natura', se recomienda AG 1051; Si la comercialización se basa en el número de mazorcas 'in natura' o por peso de granos procesados, se recomienda AG 8677; El ambiente modificado con paños húmedos fue más efectivo para reducir la pérdida de peso durante el almacenamiento. Objetivou-se avaliar o desempenho de híbridos duplo comum e triplo transgênico para a produção e o armazenamento pós-colheita de espigas de milho verde. No campo, os tratamentos foram constituídos por dois híbridos de milho (AG 1051 e AG 8677), dispostos no delineamento em blocos casualizados, com quatorze repetições. Para as características avaliadas em laboratório na pós-colheita, os tratamentos foram constituídos por dois híbridos de milho (AG 1051 e AG 8677) e dois tipos de armazenamento (ambiente e ambiente modificado), dispostos no delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, no esquema fatorial 2 x 2, com cinco repetições. Foram avaliadas as seguintes variáveis: comprimento da espiga empalhada e despalhada, diâmetro de espiga empalhada e despalhada, diâmetro do sabugo, peso de espigas empalhadas e despalhadas comercializável, peso do sabugo, palha, grãos, número de fileiras, média do número de grãos por espiga, número de espigas por planta, produtividade e perda de peso. O híbrido triplo transgênico AG 8677 se enquadra dentro dos padrões para ser comercializado ‘in natura’ como milho verde; Se a comercialização do milho verde a nível produtor for por peso da espiga ‘in natura’ recomenda-se o AG 1051; Se a comercialização for por número de espigas ‘in natura’ ou por peso de grãos processados recomenda-se o AG 8677; O ambiente modificado com panos úmidos foi mais efetivo na redução da perda de peso durante o armazenamento.

This study aimed to evaluate the response of mung-bean cultivated in inceptisol fertilized with different sources and levels of phosphorus and its correlation with the extraction of P from the soil using the extractor Mehlich-1. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse belonging to the Federal Rural University of Semiarid (UFERSA) Mossoro-RN, in the period of 15/09/2000 to 20/10/2000, using a variety of mung-bean 'Green Mungo'. The treatments were consisted of two sources of phosphorus (phosphoric acid and phosphate monopotassium) and five doses of P2O5 (0, 200, 400, 600 and 800 kg ha-1). The experimental design was completely randomized in a factorial 2 x 5 with four replications. The source and P levels provided changes in height and levels of phosphorus in plant and soil and exchangeable potassium in soil. The extractor Mehlich-1 has a greater capacity for recovery of phosphorus from the soil fertilized with phosphoric acid. The higher concentration of K in soil fertilized with KH2PO4, corroborate with the hypothesis that this fertilizer has problems of precipitation and release of exchangeable potassium in contact with the ground.

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico Realizaram-se a avaliação e descrição das características morfológicas e agronômicas de 36 acessos de taro, do Banco de Germoplasma de Hortaliças da Universidade Federal de Viçosa (BGH/UFV), objetivando definir um padrão característico para cada acesso ou grupo de acessos, visando criar subsídios para programas de melhoramento genético com a cultura. O experimento foi conduzido na horta de pesquisas da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, no período de 19.09.2000 a 13.06.2001. Foi utilizado o delineamento de blocos casualizados, com 36 tratamentos (acessos) e cinco repetições. A parcela foi composta de quatro fileiras espaçadas de 1,0 x 0,5 m, com quatro metros de comprimento, totalizando 32 plantas; e a área, de 16,0 m2. Para as características morfológicas foram utilizados os descritores para o taro do International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI). Dentre as características avaliadas, as que mais contribuíram para a distinção entre os acessos pertencentes ao BGH/UFV foram: número máximo de folhas por planta, margem da lâmina foliar, modelo da nervura, cor do pecíolo (terços superior, intermediário e basal), cor do anel basal do pecíolo, cor da bainha foliar, comprimento do rizoma principal e peso médio de rizomas laterais. Já as características que menos contribuíram, por não apresentarem variação entre os acessos, foram: posição predominante da superfície do limbo foliar, cor da nervura principal, espessura da periderme do rizoma principal e uniformidade de cor das raízes. Com poucas exceções, os acessos de taro pertencentes ao BGH/UFV apresentaram crescimento vegetativo com o seguinte perfil: porte alto (superior a 100 cm), expansão horizontal da planta média (50 a 100 cm), número máximo de folhas por planta entre 4 e 5 e número de rebentos máximo por planta entre 1 e 5. A formação de inflorescência, tipo aplanada ou encapuchada, foi observada em 30,56% dos acessos. Os acessos com inflorescências do tipo aplanada, com maior exposição da espádice, podem favorecer a polinização cruzada pela ação de polinizadores, enquanto os com inflorescência do tipo encapuchada são passíveis de autopolinização. Ambos os tipos de inflorescências, aplanada e encapuchada, apresentaram constrição na espata entre as partes feminina e masculina, o que pode ter impedido a polinização e, conseqüentemente, a fecundação, contribuindo para a não- formação de sementes de maneira natural. Os acessos BGH 5916, BGH 5917, BGH 6137, BGH 6298, BGH 6307 e BGH 6308 apresentaram as maiores produtividades de rizomas comerciáveis, não diferindo do clone Japonês-BGH 5925 e superando o Chinês-BGH 5928, ambos cultivados comercialmente. Os componentes primários com maiores correlações positivas e significativas com a produtividade de rizomas comerciáveis foram peso médio de rizomas comerciáveis, número de rizomas comerciáveis por planta e produtividade de rizomas filho grande. Os acessos Japonês-BGH 5925, BGH 5916, BGH 5917, BGH 6137, BGH 6298, BGH 6307 e BGH 6308, com as maiores produtividades de rizomas comerciáveis, apresentaram rizomas de formato cilíndrico ou oblongo, que são comercialmente desejáveis. A description of the morphological characteristics and yield of 36 accesses of taro was conducted at the Horticultural Germplasm Bank, owned by the Federal University of Viçosa, from 09.19.2000 to 06.13.2001, to define a characteristic standard for each access or group of accesses, aiming to create a basis for genetic breeding programs using this culture. A randomized block design was used, consisting of 36 treatments (accesses) and five replicates. The plot was composed by four rows 1.0 x 0.5 m spaced and 4 m long, totaling 32 plants in an area of 16.0 m2. International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI) taro descriptors were utilized for the morphological characterization. Among the characteristics appraised, the ones that most contributed to distinguish among the BGH/UFV taro accesses were: maximum number of leaves per plant, margin of the leaf lamina, vein model, petiole color (thirds superior, intermediate and basal), color of the basal ring of the petiole, color of the leaf sheath, length of the main rhizome and fresh weight of lateral rhizomes. Conversely, following, the following characteristics contributed little, for they did not show variation between the accesses: predominant position of the leaf lamina, color of the main vein, thickness of the periderm of the main rhizome and uniformity of color of the roots. With a few exceptions, the BGH/UFV taro accesses had vegetative growing with the following profile: height superior to 100 cm, average horizontal expansion of the plant from 50 to 100 cm, maximum number of leaves per plant between 4 and 5, and maximum number of lateral stems per plant between 1 and 5. The formation of inflorescence, flat or encapsulated, was observed in 30.56% of the accesses. The accesses with flat inflorescence, with greater spadix exposure, may favor crossed pollination due to pollinator action, while the accesses with inflorescence of the encapsulated type (hooded) allow self pollination. Both inflorescence types presented a constriction in the spathe, between the male and female portions, what may prevent pollination and, consequently, the fecundation, contributing to the non- formation of seeds, in a natural way. The clones BGH 5916, BGH 5917, BGH 6137, BGH 6298 BGH 6307 and BGH 6308 had the highest rhizome commercial productivity, similarly to the clone Japanese-BGH 5925 and higher than the clone Chinese-BGH 5928, both cultivated commercially. The primary components with the highest positive and significant correlations with commercial rhizome productivity were average fresh weight of commercial rhizomes (0.6370), number of commercial rhizomes per plant (0.7133) and productivity of large offspring rhizomes (0.9107). The accesses Japanese-BGH 5925, BGH 5916, BGH 5917, BGH 6137, BGH 6298, BGH 6307 and BGH 6308, which had the highest commercial rhizome productivity, presented rhizome of cylindrical or oblong shapes, which are commercially desirable.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES A irrigação de mudas de espécies frutíferas com água de baixa qualidade, sobretudo com elevados teores de sais, é uma realidade entre os produtores de mudas do semiárido brasileiro, sendo esta uma condição que pode impactar negativamente na qualidade das plantas em sua fase inicial de crescimento, fazendo-se necessário lançar mão de estratégias que viabilizem o uso destas águas sem, contudo comprometer a qualidade das mudas. Neste sentido, o objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o efeito da micorrização na morfofisiologia de mudas de mamoeiro (Carica papaia L.) do Grupo Formosa, Híbrido Tainung Nº 1, submetidas à irrigação com águas salinas. A pesquisa foi conduzida no viveiro de produção de mudas do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Paraíba, IFPB, Campus Sousa, no período de março a dezembro de 2018. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos completos casualizados, em arranjo fatorial 4 x 5, referente às espécies de fungos Gigaspora candida, Acaulospora scrobiculata, Dentiscutata heterogama e sem micorrizas e aos níveis de salinidade em água, 0,0; 10,0; 20,0; 30,0 e 40,0 mmolc L-1, em quatro repetições. Os inóculos de fungos micorrízicos foram provenientes da coleção de culturas da Embrapa Agrobiologia, Seropédica-RJ. A inoculação se deu no momento da semeadura, utilizando uma mistura de solo contendo esporos, hifas e raízes colonizadas, com os fungos das espécies micorrízicas estudadas. As irrigações, com águas de distintas salinidades, foram realizadas diariamente, de modo a deixar o solo com a umidade próxima à capacidade máxima de retenção, com base no método das pesagens, sendo aplicada a fração de lixiviação de 20%, semanalmente. As características avaliadas foram: percentagem de colonização micorrízica, conteúdo relativo de água, déficit de saturação hídrica, dano de membrana, pigmentos fotossintéticos, área foliar, índices fisiológicos, biometria, acúmulo de massa de matéria seca na raiz, caule, folha e total, acúmulo dos macronutrientes nitrogênio, fósforo, potássio e cálcio e dos íons sódio e cloreto, no tecido foliar. Maior percentagem de colonização micorrízica foi evidenciada pelas espécies Dentiscutata heterogama e Gigaspora candida, independentemente da concentração de sal. Porém, evidenciou-se que a taxa de infecção micorrízica diminuiu com o incremento da salinidade. Melhorias no conteúdo relativo de água, concentração de pigmentos fotossintéticos, índices fisiológicos, acúmulo de biomassa, crescimento, concentração e acúmulo de nutrientes foram evidenciados em mudas de mamoeiro micorrizadas para todas as concentrações de sais. No geral, o uso das micorrizas proporcionaram mudas de mamoeiro de qualidade superior as não micorrizadas independentemente do nível salino da água, sendo as espécies Dentiscutata heterogama e Gigaspora candida recomendas, devido o alívio significativo ao efeito deletério da salinidade nos componentes morfofisiológicos das mudas de mamoeiro Irrigation of seedlings of fruit species with low quality water, especially with high salt content, is a reality among Brazilian semi-arid seedling producers, which is a condition that negatively impacts the quality of plants in their initial phase of growth. It is necessary to make use of strategies that enable the use of these waters without compromising the quality of the seedlings. In this sense, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of mycorrhization on the morphophysiology of Papaya (Carica papaia L.) seedlings of the Formosa Group, Tainung 1 Hybrid, submitted to saline irrigation. The research was conducted at the seedling production nursery of the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia da Paraiba - IFPB, Campus Sousa, from March to December 2018. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design, in a 4 x 5 factorial arrangement, referring to the species of fungi Gigaspora candida, Acaulospora scrobiculata, Dentiscutata heterogama and without mycorrhizas and, at water salinity levels, 0.0; 10.0; 20.0; 30.0 and 40.0 mmolc L-1, in four repetitions. The inoculum of mycorrhizal fungi came from the culture collection of Embrapa Agrobiologia, Seropédica-RJ. The inoculation occurred at sowing time, using a soil mixture containing spores, hyphae and colonized roots, with the fungi of the studied mycorrhizal species. Irrigations with saline water were performed daily to leave the soil with moisture close to the maximum retention capacity, based on the weighing method, and the weekly 20% leaching fraction was applied. The characteristics evaluated were: percentage of mycorrhizal colonization, relative water content, water saturation deficit, membrane damage, photosynthetic pigments, leaf area, physiological indexes, biometrics, dry matter mass accumulation in root, stem, leaf and total, accumulation of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and calcium macronutrients and sodium and chloride ions in leaf tissue. Higher percentage of mycorrhizal colonization was evidenced by Dentiscutata heterogama and Gigaspora candida, regardless of salt concentration. However, it was found that the rate of mycorrhizal infection decreased with increasing salinity. Improvements in relative water content, photosynthetic pigment concentration, physiological indices, biomass accumulation, growth, concentration and nutrient accumulation were evidenced in mycorrhized papaya seedlings for all salt concentrations. In general, the use of mycorrhizae provided higher quality non-mycorrhized papaya seedlings regardless of the saline water level. Dentiscutata heterogama and Gigaspora candida species were recommended because of the significant relief of the deleterious effect of salinity on the morphophysiological components of papaya seedlings

No entanto, o seu potencial produtivo inicial, assim como na maioria das curcubitáceas, é dependende de uma adequada polinização. Os hormônios sintéticos são utilizados com o intuito de incrementar o rendimento das culturas, destacando-se aqueles que atuam no estímulo à frutificação como citocininas e auxinas. Sabendo-se que a cultura da abóbora depende de agentes polinizadores e que estes hormônios podem colaborar com a frutificação partenocárpica, objetivou-se por meio deste estudo induzir a frutificação em abóbora por meio de diferentes formas de aplicação na planta e combinações de citocinina CPPU e auxina AIB. O trabalho foi desenvolvido nas dependências do Centro de Ciências e Tecnologia Agroalimentar, da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, Campus Pombal-PB, entre os meses de Março a Junho de 2018. As sementes de abóbora Atlas foram semeadas em bandejas de isopor de 128 células para produção de mudas e após atingirem duas folhas definitivas, foram transplantadas em vasos com capacidade de 2 L, preenchidos com fibra de coco e substrato comercial Tropstrato HT Hortaliças® na proporção 3:1. Os tratamentos foram constituídos de seis proporções associadas dos reguladores de crescimento, correspondendo a 0/0 (testemunha); 0/100; 25/75; 50/50; 75/25; 100/0% das concentrações 2,5 e 10,0 mg L-1 de CPPU/AIB, respectivamente, e de duas formas de aplicação: via ovário e foliar. O delineamento experimental empregado foi o de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Aos 72 dias após o transplantio (DAT) foram realizadas análises de pigmentos foliares, de crescimento e acúmulo de massa seca nas plantas: clorofilas a, b, total e carotenoides das folhas, área foliar, número de folhas, diâmetro do caule, número de ramos, comprimento da haste principal e raiz, massa seca de folhas, ramos, raízes, frutos e total, foram também avaliadas as características de crescimento e qualidade dos frutos: massa fresca, diâmetro do bojo, diâmetro do pescoço, espessura da polpa no bojo e no pescoço, firmeza, sólidos solúveis, acidez titulável, potencial hidrogeniônico, açúcares totais, vitamina C, carotenoides e amido. Concluiu-se que a proporção 50/50% por via foliar eleva o conteúdo de carotenoides nas folhas. As proporções 25/75 e 50/50% aplicadas por via foliar foram as que mais favoreceram parâmetros de crescimento das plantas. O uso da 0/100% via ovário estimula o crescimento e acúmulo de massa da raiz, mas não promove a frutificação. As proporções 50/50% via foliar e 75/25% via ovário, respectivamente, foram as que mais incrementaram o crescimento e parâmetros de qualidade dos frutos. A aplicação do CPPU via foliar em maior concentração na proporção (100/0%) diminui características de qualidade como: vitamina C, carotenoides e amido. The culture of the pumpkin is of great economic and social expression in Brazil. However, its initial productive potential, as in most curcubitaceae, is dependent on proper pollination. Synthetic hormones are used in order to increase the yield of crops, especially those that act to stimulate fruiting, such as cytokinins and auxins. Since it is known that the pumpkin culture depends on pollinating agents and that these hormones can collaborate with parthenocarpic fruiting, it was objectified by means of this study induce fruiting in squash by means of different forms of application in the plant and combinations of cytokinin CPPU and auxin AIB. The work was carried out in the premises of the Agro-Food Science and Technology Center, Federal University of Campina Grande, Campus Pombal-PB, between the months of March and June 2018. Atlas pumpkin seeds were sown in Styrofoam trays of 128 cells for the production of seedlings and after reaching two final leaves, were transplanted in pots with a capacity of 2 L, filled with coconut fiber and Tropstrato HT Hortaliças® commercial substrate in the proportion 3: 1. The treatments were composed of six proportions associated with the growth regulators, corresponding to 0/0 (control); 0/100; 25/75; 50/50; 75/25; 100/0% of the concentrations 2.5 and 10.0 mg L-1 of CPPU/AIB, respectively, and of two forms of application: via ovary and foliar. The experimental design was a randomized block design, with four replications. At 72 days after transplanting (DAT), leaf pigment, growth and dry matter accumulation analyzes were performed in the plants: chlorophyll a, b, total and leaf carotenoids, leaf area, leaf number, stem diameter, number of leaves roots, root and root length, dry mass of leaves, branches, roots, fruits and total, the fruit growth and quality characteristics were also evaluated: fresh mass, bore diameter, neck diameter, and neck, firmness, soluble solids, titratable acidity, hydrogenation potential, total sugars, vitamin C, carotenoids and starch. It was concluded that the proportion 50/50% by foliar raises the content of carotenoids in the leaves. The proportions 25/75 and 50/50% applied by foliar route were the ones that favored plant growth parameters. The use of 0/100% via ovary stimulates the growth and accumulation of root mass, but does not promote fruiting. The proportions 50/50% via foliar and 75/25% via ovary, respectively, were the ones that increased the growth and fruit quality parameters. The application of CPPU via foliar in higher concentration in proportion (100/0%) decreases quality characteristics such as vitamin C, carotenoids and starch.

O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o crescimento, partição de massa, produção e qualidade de híbridos de alface cultivados sob diferentes níveis de sombreamento nas condições do semiárido paraibano. O experimento foi conduzido em área experimental do Campus IV da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba, no município de Catolé do Rocha - PB, no período de julho a setembro de 2017. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos casualizados, em parcelas subdivididas do tipo 4 x 4, com 4 repetições. A parcela constou de diferentes níveis de sombreamento (0, 30, 50 e 70%) oriundos de tela de sombreamento de coloração preta e nas subparcelas por quatro híbridos de diferentes dos grupos da alface (Americana Irene, Boston Branca, Regina de Verão e Mimosa), cultivados no espaçamento de 25 x 25 cm. Por ocasião da coleta de dados foram avaliadas características relacionadas ao clima, crescimento, partição de massa, produção e qualidade da alface. Os níveis de sombreamento adotados de 50 e 70% se destacaram em promover o maior crescimento da planta e particionamento de massa direcionado a parte aérea em comparação ao cultivo a céu aberto. O cultivo da alface com o híbrido Americana Irene apresentou folhas em menor número, porém de maior tamanho independentemente do nível de sombreamento adotado. A maior massa fresca da planta e produtividade foi obtida no híbrido Americana Irene quando cultivado com as telas de sombreamento de 50 e 70% em comparação ao cultivo a céu aberto. A elevação dos níveis de sombreamento elevou os valores de pH e reduziram a acidez total e os sólidos solúveis em plantas de alface. Os valores de sólidos solúveis foram maiores no híbrido Boston Branca apenas quando comparado ao Americana Irene independentemente do nível de sombreamento. The crop of lettuce in regions with high temperature and luminosity can affect its growth and development resulting in losses of yield and quality of its leaves. The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth, mass partition, yield and quality of lettuce hybrids grown under different levels of shading under the conditions of the Paraiba semi - arid region. The experiment was conducted in an experimental area of Campus IV of the State University of Paraíba, in the municipality of Catolé do Rocha - PB, from July to September, 2017. The experimental design was a randomized complete block in split plots 4 x 4, with 4 replicates. The plot consisted of different levels of shading (0, 30, 50 and 70%) from black shading canvas and in the subplots by four hybrids of different lettuce groups (American Irene, Boston White, Regina de Verão and Mimosa), grown at spacing of 25 x 25 cm. At the time of data collection were evaluated characteristics related to climate, growth, mass partition, production and quality of lettuce. It was obtained that the values of the temperature soil, air and radiation under lettuce plants were reduced in greater proportion with the elevation of the shading levels up to 70% and the relative humidity of the air was higher in the shading screen of 50 %. The shading levels adopted of 50 and 70% stood out in promoting the greater growth of the plant and partitioning of directed mass to shoot in comparison to the open crop. Lettuce crop with the American Irene hybrid showed fewer leaves, but bigger leaves regardless of the level of shading adopted. The highest fresh mass of the plant and yield was obtained in the American Irene hybrid when grown with shade screens of 50 and 70% compared to the open crop. The elevation of shading levels increased pH values and reduced total acidity and soluble solids in lettuce plants. The soluble solids values were higher in the Boston White hybrid only when compared to American Irene regardless of the level of shading.

Entretanto, uma das formas de evitar tais perdas em solos de elevada CTC, é inibir o processo de nitrificação. Desta forma o fornecimento adequado de N associados a produtos que retardem esse processo podem reduzir os impactos negativos causados por tais perdas. Neste trabalho objetivou-se avaliar o efeito de extratos e folhas de Nim sobre a mineralização e nitrificação do nitrogênio no solo, bem como seu efeito no crescimento e nutrição nitrogenada da berinjela e rúcula. Três experimentos, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, foram conduzidos com amostras de um solo de textura franco arenosa. No primeiro experimento, os tratamentos foram constituídos por um arranjo fatorial 4 x 2, compreendendo 4 tratamentos referentes a inibição da nitrificação à base de nim (extratos de folhas; extrato de sementes; folhas secas e sem inibidor) e duas doses de N (0 e 320 mg dm-3), com cinco repetições. No primeiro experimento, durante 28 dias, a cada sete dias, foram avaliados, os teores de nitrato (NO3-), amônio (NH4+), N-mineral e a relação amônio/nitrato presente no solo. O segundo, foi realizado com plantas de berinjela, da cultivar “Embú”, onde os tratamentos foram constituídos por um arranjo fatorial 4 x 4, sendo quatro tratamentos da inibição da nitrificação (extratos de folhas; extrato de sementes; folhas secas e sem inibidor) e quatro doses de N (20; 120; 220 e 320 mg dm-3), com três repetições. Na fase de préflorescimento, foram determinados as variáveis de crescimento; os teores foliares e os acúmulos das de nitrogênio. No terceiro experimento, utilizou-se plantas de rúcula, da cultivar “rúcula cultivada” onde os tratamentos foram constituídos por um arranjo fatorial 4 x 4, compreendendo quatro tratamentos da inibição da nitrificação (extratos de folhas; extrato de sementes; folhas secas e sem inibidor) e quatro doses de N (10; 120; 220 e 320 mg dm-3), com três repetições. No ponto de colheita da rúcula, avaliou-se o crescimento; teores foliares e acúmulos das frações de nitrogênio. Durante os 28 dias de incubação, os produtos à base de nim não inibiram claramente o processo de mineração ou nitrificação do N aplicado ao solo, houve apenas uma retardação da mineração deste N quando esteve associado a extratos de folhas ou de sementes. A adubação nitrogenada influenciou no crescimento da berinjela e da rúcula, proporcionando incremento na produção e nos teores e acúmulos de N nas folhas. A resposta da rúcula a adubação nitrogenada, foi dependente dos produtos à base de nim. The eggplant and arugula are demanding vegetables in nitrogen (N) to a suitable production, making the N meet as the nutrient usually applied in agriculture in the form of mineral fertilizer and which has lower efficiency, because their losses various processes. However, one way to avoid such loss in high CTC soils isinhibit nitrification. Thus, the adequate supply of N associated with products that retard this process can reduce the negative impacts caused by such losses. This work aimed to evaluate the effect of extracts and leaves of neem on the mineralization and nitrification of nitrogen in the soil and its effect on growth and nitrogen nutrition eggplant and arugula. Three experiments in completely randomized design were conducted with samples of soil sandy loam texture. In the first experiment, the treatments were factorial arrangement 4 x 2, comprising 4 treatments related to nitrification inhibition based on neem (leaf extracts; seed extract, dried leaves and without inhibitor) and two N rates (0 and 320 mg dm-3), with five repetitions. In the first experiment for 28 days, every seven days, were evaluated the levels of nitrate (NO3-), ammonium (NH4+), N-mineral and ammonium relationship/nitrate in the soil. The second was made with eggplants, cultivar "Embu" where treatments were factorial arrangement 4 x 4, with four treatments of nitrification inhibition (leaf extracts; seed extract, dried leaves and without inhibitor) and four nitrogen rates (20, 120, 220 and 320 mg dm-3) with three replications. In the pre-flowering stage, they were determined growth variables; leaf contents and accumulations of nitrogen. In the third experiment, used rocket plants, cultivar "grown arugula" where treatments were factorial arrangement 4 x 4, comprising four treatments of nitrification inhibition (leaf extracts; seed extract, dried leaves and without inhibitor) and four nitrogen rates (10, 120, 220 and 320 mg dm-3) with three replications. At the point of picking arugula, was evaluated growth; foliar and accumulations of nitrogen fractions. During the 28 days of incubation, the neem-based products not clearly inhibited the process of mining or nitrification of N applied to the soil, there was only a deceleration of mining this when N was associated with extracts of leaves or seeds. O delineamento experimental adotado foi o de inteiramente casualizado (DIC), com os tratamentos arranjados de cinco tipos de água residuária e dois diferentes substratos (estercos bovino e esterco ovino) com quatro repetições totalizando 40 parcelas experimentais. As características avaliadas foram: A qualidade físico-química e microbiológica do efluente bruto e diluído; características física e química do solo antes e após o experimento; altura das plantas; massa fresca e seca da parte aérea; diâmetro transversal e longitudinal da raiz; avaliação do tubérculo. Mostrou-se que é possível produzir hortaliças com reúso de água, surgindo como uma alternativa economicamente viável, condição que permite economizar água potável, possibilitando produção de alimentos, diminuindo o alto consumo de água potável, por consequência, desperdícios. Os menores acúmulos de MFPA foram encontrados nos tratamentos com as diluições 25%AR e 100%AR nas raízes cultivadas com esterco bovino. Como também, foram encontradas quantidades menores de MSPA dos tratamentos 25%AR e 100%AR estercos bovino e ovino. Portanto, o uso da água residuária e suas diferentes diluições adicionadas aos estercos bovino e ovino foram eficientes na produção da cenoura da cultivar Alvorada desenvolvida neste experimento. This study was conducted in the period May to September 2015, the Federal Institute of Paraíba IFPB - Campus de Sousa, located in the Irrigated Perimeter of São Gonçalo, in order to evaluate the productivity and physical-chemical and microbiological quality of carrot irrigated with wastewater agribusiness grown in pots, soil (sand, clay) as well as in soil added to substrates (manure cattle and sheep dung). The experimental design was completely randomized (DIC), with treatments arranged five types of wastewater and two different substrates (manure and sheep manure) with four replications totaling 40 experimental plots. The evaluated characteristics were: The physicochemical and microbiological quality of the raw wastewater and diluted; Physical and chemical characteristics of the soil before and after the experiment; Plant height; fresh and shoot dry; transverse and longitudinal diameter of the root; evaluation of the tubercle, as the physical, chemical, microbiological parameters. It has been shown that it is possible to produce vegetables with water reuse, emerging as an economically viable alternative, a condition that allows you to save drinking water, allowing food production, reducing the high consumption of drinking water, therefore waste. Smaller accumulations of MFPA were found in treatments with 100% and 25% dilutions AR AR roots grown with cattle manure. As also found smaller amounts of DMAP treatments 100% AR and 25% AR manures cattle and sheep. Therefore, the use of wastewater and its different dilutions added to manure cattle and sheep were effective in carrot production of cultivar Alvorada developed in this experiment.

Neste trabalho, objetivou-se avaliar as respostas fisiológicas e o crescimento vegetativo do abacaxizeiro "Pérola‟, em função da adubação nitrogenada e potássica, nas condições edafoclimáticas de Tabuleiros Costeiros Paraibanos. O experimento foi conduzido, em condições de sequeiro, em Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo do município de Itapororoca, entre dezembro de 2014 e dezembro de 2015. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados, contendo seis tratamentos e três repetições, totalizando 18 unidades experimentais. Os tratamentos avaliados resultaram das combinações entre as doses de N e K consideradas baixas (50 kg/ha de N e 50 kg/ha de K2O), médias (300 kg/ha de N e 300 kg/ha de K2O) e altas (700 kg/ha de N e K2O). Foram utilizadas mudas tipo „filhote‟, plantadas no sistema de fileiras duplas, no espaçamento de 0,80 x 0,40 x 0,40 m. Aos 180 dias após o plantio (dap) foram avaliadas as variáveis de crescimento vegetativo número de folhas (NF), altura de plantas (AP), comprimento (COM), largura mediana (LAR) e área foliar da folha „D‟. E aos 330 dap o peso da matéria fresca da folha „D‟. Aos 180 e 270 dap foram determinadas as variáveis fisiológicas concentração intercelular de CO2 (Ci), condutância estomática (gs), taxa transpiratória (E), fotossíntese liquida (A) e eficiência no uso da água (EUA). Pelos resultados obtidos observou-se que, com exceção da condutância estomática, as doses de N e K influenciaram as demais variáveis fisiológicas avaliadas, sobretudo aos 180 dap. Plantas adubadas com as maiores doses de N e K (700 kg/ha) exibiram menor taxa transpiratória. A combinação de 300 kg/ha de N e 700 kg/ha de K2O e 50 kg/ha de N e 300 kg/ha de K2O resultou em maior fotossíntese líquida. A maior proporção de K em relação a N contribuiu significativamente para a melhoria nas trocas gasosas. Contudo, as doses de N e K não influenciaram as variáveis de crescimento vegetativo aos 180 dap, bem como o peso da folha „D‟ na época de indução floral. This study aimed to evaluate the physiological responses and the vegetative growth of the pineapple 'Pearl', on the basis of nitrogen and potassium fertilization, the soil and climatic conditions of tableland Paraibanos The experiment was conducted under rainfed conditions in Ultisol the municipality of Itapororoca between December 2014 and December 2015. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with six treatments and three replications, totaling 18 experimental units. The treatments resulted from combinations of doses of N and K considered low (50 kg/ha of N and 50 kg/ha of K2O), medium (300 kg/ha of N and 300 kg/ha of K2O) and high (700 kg/ha N and K2O). Type seedlings were used 'puppy', planted in the system of double rows, spaced 0,80 x 0,40 x 0,40m. 180 days after planting (dap) the vegetative growth of variable number of leaves were evaluated (NF), plant height (AP), length (COM), median width (LAR) and leaf area 'D'. And to 330 dap the fresh weight of leaf 'D'. At 180 and 270, dap were certain physiological variables intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci), stomatal conductance (gs), transpiration rate (E), net photosynthesis (A) and efficiency in water use (USA).From the results it was observed that with the exception of stomatal conductance, the doses of N and K influenced all studied physiological variables, especially the 180 dap. Plants fertilized with the highest doses of N and K2O (700 kg/ha) exhibited lower transpiration rate. The combination of 300 kg/ha N and 700 kg/ha K2O and 50 kg/ha N and 300 kg/ha K2O resulted in higher net photosynthesis. Em se tratando de regiões áridas e semiáridas, a salinidade constitui um sério problema, limitando a produção agrícola e reduzindo a produtividade das culturas a níveis antieconômicos. Diante desse cenário, alternativas que visem amenizar os efeitos deletérios da salinidade são de fundamental importância; assim, objetivou-se avaliar o peróxido de hidrogênio (H2O2) como amenizador da suscetibilidade do milho verde ao estresse salino. O experimento foi conduzido no Centro de Ciências e Tecnologia Agroalimentar, Campus Pombal – Pombal/PB, pertencente à Universidade Federal de Campina Grande (CCTA – UFCG), no período de 10/01/2015 a 15/02/2015, utilizando-se do híbrido de milho ‘AG 1051’. O cultivo foi realizado em vasos com capacidade para oito decímetros cúbicos de solo (8 dm3), preenchidos com solo classificado como VERTISSOLO. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por dois níveis de salinidade da água de irrigação (0,3 e 2,0 dS m-1) e cinco diferentes concentrações de peróxido de hidrogênio (0, 40, 80, 160 e 320 µmol L-1) aplicadas via água de irrigação. O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado, no esquema fatorial 2 x 5, com quatro repetições. A unidade experimental foi composta por um vaso contendo duas plantas. Os vasos foram dispostos no espaçamento de 0,5 x 0,5 m. Foram avaliadas as trocas gasosas, pigmentos clorofila e carotenoides, crescimento e acúmulo de massas na planta. Os maiores valores quanto aos parâmetros fisiológicos, de crescimento, acúmulo de massa seca e teores de clorofila e carotenoides foram observados na salinidade da água de 0,3 em relação a 2,0 dS m-1. O fornecimento do H2O2 reduziu, nas plantas de milho, o efeito estressante causado pela salinidade da água de irrigação entre as concentrações de 40 e 80 µmol L-1. A salinidade da água de irrigação aliada às concentrações elevadas de H2O2 causou redução na fotossíntese, no crescimento inicial das plantas, no acúmulo de massa seca e nos teores de clorofila e carotenoides. The salinity is one of abiotic factors that most affect negatively in the productivity of crops, among them, the green corn, for providing reduction in osmotic potential and effects ion order, thus hindering their growth, development, and consequently production. In the case of arid and semi-arid regions, salinity constitutes a serious problem, limiting the agricultural production and reducing the crop yields to uneconomical levels. In this scenario, alternatives that aimed at mitigating the deleterious effects of salinity are of the fundamental importance; thus aimed to evaluate the hydrogen peroxide as reliever of the susceptibility of the green corn to salt stress. The experiment was conducted in the Science and Technology Center Agrifood Campus Pombal - Pombal / PB belonging to the Federal University of Campina Grande (CCTA - UFCG) in the period from 10/01/2015 to 15/02/2015, using a hybrid corn 'AG 1051'. Cultivation was carried out in pots with a capacity of 8 dm3 of soil, filled with soil classified as a VERTISOL. The treatments were constitute by two levels of salinity of the water of irrigation (0.3 and 2.0 dS m-1) and five different hydrogen peroxide concentrations (0, 40, 80, 160 and 320 mmol L-1) applied via irrigation water. The experimental design was completely randomized in a factorial 2 x 5, with four replications. The experimental unit consisted of a pot containing two plants. The pots were arranged with spacing of 0.5 x 0.5 m. It was evaluated the gas exchange, pigment chlorophyll and carotenoids, growth and accumulation of mass in the plant. The higher values for physiological parameters, growth, dry matter accumulation and levels of chlorophyll and carotenoids were observed in water salinity of 0.3 compared to 2.0 dS m-1. The supply of H2O2 reduces in corn plants, stressful effect caused by salinity irrigation water concentrations between 40 and 80 mmol L-1. The salinity of the irrigation water coupled with the high concentrations of H2O2 caused a reduction in photosynthesis in the early growth of plants in the dry matter accumulation and chlorophyll and carotenoid content.

Os experimentos foram conduzidos no CCTA/UFCG, Campus de Pombal. O primeiro avaliou o efeito de diferentes doses (0,14mL, 28mL, 56mL e 112mL/planta) do composto orgânico Bokashi no controle da podridão radicular ocasionada por Fusarium spp. em duas etapas simultâneas utilizando solo estéril e não estéril em casa de vegetação, as doses foram aplicadas semanalmente utilizandos e a cultivar ‘Crimson Sweet’ que foi semeada em vasos contendo seis kg de solo argiloso, constituído de seis tratamentos com cinco repetições. Foi avaliada a população microbiana total do solo, colhido a 0, 30, e 60 dias após o plantio da melancia e a uma profundidade de aproximadamente 10 cm e próximo ao sistema radicular além da incidência e severidade da podridão radicular, e matéria fresca seca da parte aérea das plantas. O segundo experimento em campo avaliou as duas melhores doses do composto orgânico ‘Bokashi, (112ml e 56ml) do experimento anterior e outras doses (224ml e 0ml), assim distribuídos (T1 112ml com Trichoderma, T2 112ml sem Trichoderma, T3 56ml com Trichoderma, T4 56ml sem Trichoderma, T5 224ml com Trichoderma, T6 224ml sem Trichoderma, T7 0ml com trichoderma, T8 0ml sem Trichoderma) totalizando 8 tratamentos e cinco repetições onde foram avaliadas a incidência e severidade a podridão radicular, além das características agronômicas da cultura como acúmulo de massa das plantas, e produção total dos frutos e fisiológica como taxa fotossintética (A), condutância estomática (gs), transpiração (E) e concentração intercelular de CO2 (Ci), No estudo em casa de vegetação os tratamentos com dose de 56ml de bokashi associado ao Trichoderma e o que utilizou dose de 112ml de bokashi obtiveram resultado significativo na redução da Incidência de patógenos fúngicos em melancieiras plantadas em solo não estéril e na severidade da podridão radicular causada por Fusarium spp em solo estéril. Em campo a dose 112ml de bokashi associado ao Trichoderma obteve redução tanto na incidência de patógenos fúngicos quanto na severidade da podridão radicular em melancieiras. O bokashi associado ao Trichoderma obteve melhor controle na incidência e severidade de podridão radicular em melancieira. O bokashi e Trichoderma não interferiram no crescimento e produção da melancieira. O Trichoderma interferiu de forma negativa nas análises fisiológicas da melancieira, para a taxa fotossintética, condutância estomática, transpiração e concentração intercelular de CO2. Os tratamentos que utilizaram dose de 112ml e 56ml de bokashi sem a presença do Trichoderma foi a que apresentou um melhor incremento para taxa fotossintética e condutância estomática respectivamente, evidenciando a importância do bokashi no intuito de melhorar a resposta fisiológica da planta. The culture of watermelon can be affected by various pathogens that act on the root system of plants, affecting the absorption and transport of water and nutrients, interfering in the processes vital to their development.The experiments were conducted in the CCTA / UFCG, Campus de Pombal. The first evaluated the effect of different doses (0,14mL, 28ml, 56ml and 112mL / plant) of Bokashi organic compound in the control of root rot caused by Fusarium spp. in two simultaneous steps using sterile soil and non-sterile in greenhouse doses were applied weekly using the watermelon cultivar 'Crimson Sweet' that was sown in pots containing six kilograms of clay soil, made up of six treatments with five repetitions. We evaluated total soil microbial population, collected at 0, 30, and 60 days after planting watermelon and to a depth of about 10 cm and close to the root system beyond the incidence and severity of root rot, dry and fresh matter of watermelon. The second field experiment evaluating the top two doses of organic compost 'Bokashi, (112ml and 56ml) of the previous experiment and other doses (224ml and 0ml), distributed as follows (with Trichoderma 112ml, 112ml without Trichoderma, with Trichoderma 56ml, 56ml without Trichoderma, with Trichoderma a 224ml, 224ml without Trichoderma, 0ml with Trichoderma, 0ml without Trichoderma) totaling eight treatments and five replications which were assessed the incidence and severity of root rot and the agronomic characteristics of culture as a mass accumulation of plants, photosynthetic rate (a), stomatal conductance (gs), transpiration (E) and intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci), fresh and dry matter of shoot and total production of fruits. In the study of greenhouse treatments with 56ml dose of Bokashi associated with Trichoderma and what used dose of 112ml of Bokashi achieved significant results in reducing fungal pathogens incidence in watermelon planted in non-sterile soil and severity of root rot Fusarium spp in sterile soil. In the field dose of 112ml Bokashi associated with Trichoderma achieved a reduction in both the incidence of fungal pathogens as the severity of root rot in watermelon. Bokashi associated with Trichoderma got better control the incidence and severity of root rot in watermelon.

Mais tarde foi introduzida, na região de Bariloche, a Truta arco-íris (Salmo irideus). Objetivou-se com este trabalho fazer um estudo sobre a sustentabilidade da piscicultura no município de Coremas PB. A metodologia utilizada foi através da aplicação de questionários semi estruturados aplicados diretamente com os piscicultores, foram aplicados 30 questionários. Para calcular a sustentabilidade da atividade foram calculados os índices Social Econômico, Tecnológico e Ambiental que foram compor o índice de Sustentabilidade da atividade. O índice social foi de 0,6387, o índice econômico foi de 0,7480, o índice tecnológico de 0,5623, o índice ambiental foi de 0,4733 e por fim o índice de sustentabilidade foi de 0,6053. O índice que mais contribuiu para compor a sustentabilidade foi o econômico, porem, todos os índices se encontram dentro do nível médio de sustentabilidade. Isso significa que a atividade piscicola desenvolvida no município de Coremas PB, necessita de mudanças no sentido de melhorar todos os índices apresentados na pesquisa a fim de alcançar a sustentabilidade tão almejada pelos que praticam essa atividade. - Fish farming is an activity developed in the world for a long time in South America, the first country to introduce fish farming was Argentina, importing in 1870, the first common carp breeding (Cyprinus carpio) and Mirror Carp (Cyprinus Carpic). It was later introduced in the region of Bariloche, the rainbow trout (Salmo irideus). The objective of this work was to study the sustainability of fish farming in the municipality of Coremas PB. The methodology used was by applying semi-structured questionnaires directly with fish farmers, were applied 30 questionnaires. To calculate the sustainability of the Economic Social activity indices were calculated. Technological and Environmental Sustainability that were composing the index of activity. The social rate was 0.6387, the economic rate was 0.7480, the technological index of 0.5623, the environmental index was 0.4733 and finally the sustainability index was 0.6053. The index that most contributed to compose sustainability was economic; however, all indices are within the average level of sustainability. This means that the piscicola activity developed in the city of Coremas PB, needs changes to improve all indices presented in the survey in order to achieve sustainability as desired by practicing this activity.

Esta problemática é presente em algumas partes do mundo e do país. Com o intuito de garantir o direito de uso dos recursos hídricos, proteção, preservação e o acesso a água potável, a legislação trouxe normas e dispositivos de proteção a este recurso natural esgotável, no sentido de orientar e determinar as obrigações e suas penalidades, para efetivar o art. 225 da Constituição Federal de 1988. Além disso, reconhece-se a crescente falta de água para a irrigação e outros usos, face sua irregular disponibilidade marcada ao longo do ano e da região. Com base na legislação federal e do Estado da Paraíba, surge a necessidade de analisar o gerenciamento dos recursos hídricos e sua aplicação aos municípios, e assim, situar a competência constitucional em matéria de recursos hídricos, e o estudo da outorga da água, a fim de definir as estratégias legislativas a serem adotadas pelo município acerca da gestão dos recursos hídricos na solução dos conflitos por água. A pesquisa utilizou o método indutivo, a partir do estudo de caso quanto o papel do Município de Pombal – PB, com relação aos conflitos pelo direito de uso dos recursos hídricos na irrigação. Como também está pautada na abordagem qualitativa enquanto pesquisador produtor rural, e quantitativa à medida da coleta de dados fornecidos pela Agência Nacional das Águas, Pastoral da Terra, AESA – PB, Comitê de Bacia Piranhas-Açú, pesquisas científicas e legislação. Conclui-se, pela necessidade do desenvolvimento de mecanismos permanentes de participação social nas negociações de âmbito de comitês de bacias, de modo a amenizar as situações de conflito e garantir a gestão compartilhada do bem comum. Daí o papel do Município na organização política-administrativa na aplicação das políticas públicas em favor de seus administrados, por ser mais próximo da realidade local. Verificou-se ainda, falha na gestão das águas da Bacia Piranha-Açú. Dessa forma, deve-se aumentar a participação dos irrigantes nos comitês de bacia para identificar a dimensão social dos conflitos por água. Criar uma legislação municipal que delegue competência a Secretaria de Agricultura na criação do cadastro informativo dos irrigantes, incluindo orientação técnica quanto o procedimento de outorga do direito dos recursos hídricos até sua extinção, e aumentar a participação da ANA sobre a realidade local através de audiências públicas. Water resources are indispensable life of beings and of the whole planet, and its scarcity implies a new attitude of society. This issue is present in some parts of the world and the country. In order to guarantee the right of use of water resources, protection, preservation and access to drinking water, legislation brought standards and protection devices to this exhaustible natural resource, to guide and determine the obligations and its penalties for effect the art. 225 of the 1988 Constitution also recognizes the increasing lack of water for irrigation and other uses, given its irregular availability scheduled throughout the year and the region. Based on federal law and the state of Paraíba, the need arises to analyze the management of water resources and its application to municipalities, and thus place the constitutional competence in the field of water resources, and the study of grant of water in order to set the legislative strategies to be adopted by the municipality about the management of water resources in the solution of conflicts by water. The research used the inductive method, from the case study as the role of the Municipality of Pombal - PB with respect to conflict the right to use water resources for irrigation. As is also guided by the qualitative approach while farmers researcher, and quantitative as the collection of data provided by the National Water Agency, Ministry of Land, EFSA - PB, Piranhas-Açu Basin Committee, scientific research and legislation. It follows the need to develop permanent mechanisms for social participation in negotiating the framework of basin committees in order to ease the conflict and ensure shared management of the common good. Hence the role of the Municipality in the political and administrative organization in the implementation of public policies on behalf of its managed, by being closer to the local reality. There was also failure in the management of the waters of the Piranha-Açu Basin. Thus, one should increase the share of irrigation in the basin committees to identify the social dimension of conflicts over water. Create a municipal law to delegate powers the Agriculture Department in the creation of informative record of irrigators, including technical guidance regarding the right of concession procedure of water resources to extinction, and increase the participation of ANA on the local reality through public hearings.

In this region, the hidric resource is limited and the distribution of rainfall doesn‟t furnish satisfactorily the water requirements of crops throughout the year with needing of water supply for the growth and development of plants. In this sense, the objective of this work was to evaluate either growth parameters, as well as physiological and biochemical parameters of plant and physicochemical parameters of Pele de Sapo melon fruit under levels of water replacement. The research was conducted in the experimental area in the Campus IV, Universidade Estadual da Paraíba. The research involved the study of four levels of replacement of plant water requirements (40, 60, 80 and 100 % of ETo) in Pele de Sapo melon in randomized blocks design with five replications. The following variables were evaluated: growth (leaf area and dry matter partitioning), physiological (gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence), biochemical (organic solutes and antioxidant enzymes), and physicochemical (mass, longitudinal and transverse diameter, flesh thickness, vitamin C, acidity, pH and °Brix of the fruit). Proline has an indicating action of overcoming the stress. The rehydration of plants increased the content of photosynthetic pigments. Higher rates of water replacement increased the mass, diameter and pulp of Pele de Sapo melon. The water replacement rate of 100 % of ETo led significant change in the Internal Carbon (IC) and Transpiration (E). A região Nordeste brasileira, por ter condições edafoclimáticas favoráveis para o cultivo de melão, destaca-se como maior produtora nacional, sendo o uso da irrigação aliado à adequada nutrição das plantas, fatores fundamentais para o incremento quantitativo e qualitativo da produção. Na região, o recurso hídrico é limitado e a distribuição das chuvas não supre adequadamente a necessidade de água das culturas durante todo o ano, sendo necessária a suplementação hídrica para o crescimento e desenvolvimento das plantas. Nesse sentido, objetivou-se com este trabalho, avaliar parâmetros de crescimento, fisiológicos e bioquímicos das plantas e físico-químicos dos frutos de melão Pele de Sapo cultivados sob diferentes lâminas de irrigação. A pesquisa foi realizada na área experimental do Campus IV, da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba. A pesquisa contou do estudo de quatro níveis de reposição das necessidades hídricas das plantas (40, 60, 80 e 100% da ETo), em híbrido de melão Pele-de-Sapo , no delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com cinco repetições. Foram avaliadas variáveis de crescimento (área foliar e partição de fitomassa seca), fisiológicas (trocas gasosas e fluorescência da clorofila), bioquímicas (solutos orgânicos e enzimas antioxidantes) e físico-químicas (massa, diâmetro longitudinal e transversal, espessura da polpa, vitamina C, acidez, pH e ºBrix dos frutos). A prolina tem ação indicadora de recuperação ao estresse. A reidratação das plantas aumentou o conteúdo dos pigmentos fotossintetizantes. Maiores taxas de reposição hídrica aumentam a massa, o diâmetro e a espessura de polpa de frutos de meloeiro Pele de Sapo . A taxa de reposição hídrica de 100% da Eto propiciou variação significativa no Carbono Interno (Ci) e na Transpiração(E).

Assim, objetivou-se avaliar o efeito da aplicação da citocinina CPPU, em diferentes concentrações, na indução da frutificação partenocárpica em melancieiras diploide e triploide. A pesquisa foi constituída por dois experimentos conduzidos em campo no Câmpus da UFCG, em PombalPB, no período de 15/12/2012 a 02/03/2013 utilizando-se o híbrido triploide ‘Extasy’ e a variedade diploide ‘Crimson Sweet’. Para ambos os experimentos, os tratamentos foram compostos por cinco concentrações do regulador de crescimento CPPU (0,75; 1,0; 1,5; 2,5 e 3,5 mg L-1 ) mais testemunha (polinização natural). O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. A aplicação do CPPU ocorreu de forma exógena no ovário das flores na antese por dois dias consecutivos. As características avaliadas foram: taxa fotossintética (A), condutância estomática (gs), transpiração (E), concentração intercelular de CO2 (Ci), eficiência no uso da água (EUA), clorofilas, carotenoides, número de folhas, área foliar, massa seca das folhas, do caule e dos frutos e massa seca total, produção total e comercial, massa média dos frutos comercializáveis, número de frutos por planta, número de frutos comercializáveis por planta, índice de formato do fruto, espessura da casca e da polpa, sólidos solúveis, acidez titulável, pH, SS/AT e ácido ascórbico. O CPPU foi eficiente na indução da frutificação em melancieiras diploide ‘Crimson Sweet’ e triploide ‘Extasy’, independentemente da concentração utilizada. A concentração 2,5 mg L-1 de CPPU aplicada nas melancieiras diploides proporcionou o maior número de frutos comercializáveis por planta, maior produção total e produção comercial comparada à testemunha, já nas triploides possibilitou maior número de frutos por planta, número de frutos comercializáveis por planta, produção total e produção comercial em relação à testemunha. A indução da frutificação com CPPU na melancieira ‘Crimson Sweet’ não interferiu no acúmulo de massa seca, no crescimento e nas características fisiológicas da planta comparada à testemunha. Na ‘Extasy’, proporcionou maior acúmulo de massa seca no fruto, redução na massa seca das folhas, do caule e crescimento da planta, incremento na condutância estomática e na assimilação de CO2 quando comparada à testemunha. Nas melancieiras ‘Crimson Sweet’, a concentração de CPPU 2,5 mg L-1 proporcionou maior condutância estomática, taxa fotossintética e acúmulo de massa seca no fruto. Na melancieira ‘Extasy’, as concentrações de CPPU foram indiferente nas trocas gasosas e no crescimento da planta. Parthenocarpy in watermelon adds value to fruits, however, for its cultivation, the producer may encounter difficulties such as: adaptation of hybrid to regional conditions, high seed prices, low germination and seedling vigor, beyond the need to cultivate, in the same area, a diploid variety as source of pollen for triploids. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the effect of application of cytokinin CPPU at different concentrations, in the induction of fruiting partenocarpic in diploid and triploid watermelon plants. The study comprised two field experiments conducted in the field in Campus of UFCG in Pombal -PB, from 12/15/2012 to 03/02/2013 using the triploid hybrid 'Extasy' and diploid variety 'Crimson Sweet'. For both experiments, treatments consisted of five concentrations of growth regulator CPPU (0.75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 mg L- 1 ) and the control (natural pollination). The experimental design was a complete randomized block designed with four replications. The application of CPPU occurred exogenously in the ovary of flowers for two consecutive days at anthesis. The variables evaluated were: photosynthetic rate (A), stomatal conductance (gs), transpiration (E), intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci), water use efficiency (EUA), chlorophylls, carotenoids, number of leaves, leaf area, dry mass of leaves, stem and fruit and total dry matter, total and marketable yield, average weight of marketable fruit , number of fruits per plant, number of marketable fruits per plant, fruit shape index, shell thickness and pulp, soluble solids, titratable acidity, pH, SS/TA and ascorbic acid. The CPPU was efficient in inducing fruiting of diploid watermelon 'Crimson Sweet' and triploid 'Extasy’, regardless of the concentration used. The concentration 2.5 mg L- 1 of CPPU applied in diploid watermelon provided the greatest number of marketable fruits per plant, higher total and marketable yield production compared to control, and in the triploid plants in increased the number of fruits per plant, number of fruits marketable per plant, total production and commercial production compared to control. Induction of fruiting with CPPU in watermelon ‘Crimson Sweet’ had no effect on dry matter accumulation, growth and physiological characteristics of the plant compared to the control. In 'Extasy', CPPU provided a greater accumulation of dry matter in the fruit decreased dry mass of leaves, stem and plant growth, increase in stomatal conductance and CO2 assimilation compared to the control. In watermelon 'Crimson Sweet' the concentration of 2.5 mg L- 1 yielded higher stomatal conductance, photosynthetic rate and dry matter accumulation in the fruit. In watermelon 'Extasy', concentrations of CPPU were indifferent gas exchange and plant growth.
