Fitocromos são pigmentos proteicos relacionados com a assimilação qualitativa e quantitativa da luz pelas plantas, traduzindo-a em sinais bioquímicos capazes de influenciar o crescimento e desenvolvimento vegetal. Em tomateiros, o mutante fri, apresenta deficiência no fitocromo A, o mutante tri, deficiência de fitocromo B1 e o mutante phyB2 é deficiente no fitocromo B2. Neste trabalho foram analisados os efeitos dessas mutações quando do cultivo das plantas nos tratamentos sol e sombra, analisando aspectos morfométricos e partição de fotoassimilados, aspectos da anatomia foliar e caulinar, taxas de fotossíntese (A), condutância estomática (gs), transpiração (E), fluorescência da clorofila e conteúdo de clorofila e carotenoides de tomateiros mutantes fotomorfogenéticos fri, tri, phyB2 e o genótipo selvagem Moneymaker. As plantas foram cultivadas em casa de vegetação e caracterizadas ao logo do seu desenvolvimento. O mutante fri e tri obtiveram menor área foliar total que os demais genótipos em ambos os tratamentos. Todos os genótipos apresentaram-se maiores no tratamento sombra, e nestas condições o mutante tri apresentou maior altura que os demais genótipos. A taxa fotossintética foi maior na condição de sol, e o mutante phyB2 submetido ao sombreamento exibiu maior A que os demais genótipos. Em condições de sol foram observadas menores quantidades de clorofila a e carotenoides no mutante tri em relação aos demais genótipos. Os mutantes fri e tri exibiram menor rendimento quântico potencial (Fv/Fm) e efetivo (Fq’/Fm’) do fotossistema II em condições de sombra. Menores valores de Fq’/Fm’ foram observados no mutante tri sob sombreamento quando comparados aos demais genótipos. Em ambos os tratamentos os mutantes apresentaram maiores valores de biomassa seca das raízes/massa seca total em relação ao genótipo controle, e aos 130 DAE o mutante fri exibiu redução desse parâmetro. Alocação de fotoassimilados aos 130 DAE em folhas foi maior nos mutantes fri, tri, e phyB2 comparativamente ao genótipo selvagem, que deteve maior razão massa seca dos frutos/massa seca total em comparação aos mutantes. A área do elemento de vaso foi menor para o mutante fri em comparação aos demais genótipos. A densidade estomática da face abaxial foi maior para os mutantes fri e phyB2 na condição de sol. A altura das células epidérmicas da face adaxial, os parênquimas paliçádico e esponjoso e a espessura do xilema foram maiores na condição de sol em relação à sombra. Conclui-se que as características analisadas são influenciadas por fitocromos específicos na espécie estudada e que a ação dos fitocromos difere nas condições de sol e sombra. Phytochromes are protein pigments related to the qualitative and quantitative absorption of light by plants, translating it into biochemical signals that influence plant growth and development. In tomato, fri mutant shows deficiency in the phytochrome A, the mutant tri, deficiency phytochrome B1 and phyB2 mutant is deficient in phytochrome B2. In this paper we analyzed the effects of these changes when the cultivation of plants in the sun and shade treatments by analysis the growth and assimilates partition, photosynthetic rates (A), stomatal conductance (gs), transpiration (E), chlorophyll fluorescence and chlorophyll and carotenoid content in tomato mutants photomorphogenic fri, tri, phyB2 and wild genotype Moneymaker. The plants were grown in a greenhouse and featured throughout its development. The fri and tri mutant exhibited lower total leaf area than the other genotypes in both treatments. All genotypes were taller in shade treatment, and in these conditions the mutant tri presented greater height than the other genotypes. The photosynthetic rate was higher in sun condition, and phyB2 mutant subjected to shading exhibited higher A than the other genotypes. Under sunny conditions were observed lower amounts of chlorophyll a and carotenoid in the tri mutant compared to other genotypes. Fri and tri mutants showed lower potential quantum yield (Fv / Fm) and effective (Fq '/ Fm') of photosystem II in shade conditions. Lower values of Fq '/ Fm' were observed in tri mutant under shady when compared to other genotypes. In both treatments mutants showed higher dry biomass values of roots / total dry weight in relation to control genotype, and 130 DAE fri mutant exhibited reduction of this parameter. Assimilates allocation to 130 DAE in leaves was higher in fri mutants, tri, and phyB2 compared to the wild genotype, which showed the highest dry mass ratio of fruit / total dry mass compared to the mutants.. The area of the vessel element was for the fri mutant in comparison to the other genotypes. The stomatal density of the abaxial face was higher for the fri and phyB2 mutants in sun condition. The thickness of the adaxial epidermal cells, the paliquadic and spongy parenchyma, and the xylem thickness were greater in the sun condition in relation to the shade, greater in the sun condition in relation to the shade. It is concluded that the analyzed characteristics are influenced by specific phytochrome in the studied species and the action of phytochrome differs in sun and shade conditions. Its fruits are appreciated mainly by flavor and nutraceutical potential. The light quality affects plant physiology and can bring benefits to crops. Thus, changes in incident light spectrum can improve the development, production and fruit quality. This study evaluated effects of covers of different colors in low tunnels for strawberry crop. Were tested four colored covers (red, yellow, blue and green) and two witnesses already used commercially (transparent and milky). Were used a cultivar of short photoperiod (Camarosa) and a neutral photoperiod (Albion). The experiment was evaluated in two seasons, and in the first season were evaluated production and vegetative growth, and the second time the photosynthetic efficiency and post-harvest quality. Overall, Camarosa showed higher vegetative growth, lower production, and better quality fruit. The covers have changed the microclimate regarding shading and temperature, and influenced most of characteristics evaluated. However, the colored covers were not higher than those used commercially. O morangueiro é uma cultura de grande importância econômica e social. Seus frutos são apreciados tanto pelo sabor como pelo potencial nutracêutico. A qualidade luminosa influencia a fisiologia das plantas e pode trazer benefícios às culturas. Dessa forma, alterar o espectro de luz incidente pode melhorar o desenvolvimento, produção e qualidade de frutos. Neste estudo foram avaliados efeitos de coberturas de diferentes cores em túneis baixos no cultivo de morangueiro, sendo que, foram testadas quatro coberturas coloridas (vermelha, amarela, azul e verde) e duas testemunhas já utilizadas comercialmente (transparente e leitosa). Foram utilizadas uma cultivar de fotoperíodo curto (Camarosa) e uma de fotoperíodo neutro (Albion). O experimento foi avaliado em duas épocas, sendo que, na primeira época foram avaliados produção e crescimento vegetativo, e na segunda época a efeciência fotossintética e qualidade pós-colheita. De modo geral, Camarosa apresentou maior crescimento vegetativo, menor produção, e melhor qualidade de frutos. As coberturas alteraram o microclima com relação ao sombreamento e temperatura, e influenciaram grande parte das características avaliadas. Porém, as coberturas coloridas não foram superiores àquelas já utilizadas comercialmente.

Os compostos fenólicos são sintetizados pela via dos fenilpropanoides, cuja enzima chave, fenilalanina amônia liase, é influenciada pela luz e ação de fotorreceptores, como o fitocromo. O objetivo do presente trabalho é avaliar a concentração de compostos fenólicos e a capacidade antioxidante de frutos de microtomateiro selvagem, cultivar Micro-Tom (MT), e seus mutantes fotomorfogenéticos high pigment 1 (hp1), super-responsivo a eventos mediados por luz e aurea (au), deficiente quantitativo em fitocromos. Vinte frutos maduros de cada genótipo (MT, hp1 e au) foram utilizados para as análises, realizadas em triplicata. Para quantificação dos compostos fenólicos totais, foi utilizado o método de Folin-Ciocalteu e a capacidade antioxidante foi realizada pelos métodos Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) e 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Os frutos do mutante hp1 apresentaram maiores conteúdos de compostos fenólicos totais e também maior capacidade antioxidante em relação à cultivar selvagem (MT) e ao mutante au, o qual não diferiu significativamente da cultivar MT. Phenolic compounds and antioxidant capacity are defense mechanisms of plants against the oxidative stress damage. Phenolic compounds are synthesized through the phenylpropanoid pathway, where the enzyme phenylalanine-ammonia-lyase plays a key role and it is influenced by light and photoreceptors such as phytochromes. The present research aims to evaluate the phenolic compounds content and antioxidant capacity of the wild Micro-Tom (MT) cultivar tomato fruits and its photomorphogenic mutant tomato plants high pigment 1 (hp1), super responsive to events mediated by light, and aurea (au), quantitative phytochrome deficient. Twenty mature fruits of each genotype (MT, hp1, au) were used in triplicate for analyses. To quantify the total phenolic compounds the Folin-Ciocalteu method was used and the antioxidant capacity was analyzed by Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) methods. The hp1 mutant presented the highest total phenolic compounds content and higher antioxidant capacity than wild cultivar (MT) and au mutant, which did not differ significantly from MT cultivar. CARACTERÍSTICAS MORFOFISIOLÓGICAS, PRODUÇÃO E COMPOSIÇÃO DE ÓLEO ESSENCIAL EM FOLHAS DE Tetradenia riparia (Hochst) Codd- LAMIACEAE CULTIVADA EM DIFERENTES NÍVEIS DE SOMBREAMENTO. Tetradenia riparia (Hochst) Codd- Lamiaceae, conhecida popularmente como incenso, é uma planta empregada para doenças como malária, angina, gastroenterites, dores de cabeça, bronquite, dentre outras doenças. Seu óleo essencial contém aproximadamente, 200 componentes. Os diterpenóides apresentam atividade antimicrobiana, antiespasmódica e antitricomonas. Considerando a importância da luz sobre o crescimento e desenvolvimento das plantas, o presente estudo tem como objetivo avaliar características morfofisiológicas, produção e composição de óleo essencial de Tetradenia riparia cultivada em diferentes níveis de sombreamento. Para isso, as mudas foram propagadas por estaquia e cultivadas em mini-casas de vegetação completamente cobertas com telas de polietileno pretas produzidas para proporcionar níveis de sombreamento de 30%, 50% e 80% e também a pleno sol o que corresponde aos tratamentos. Folhas foram avaliadas após 150 dias de tratamento. As plantas submetidas a pleno sol tiveram maior espessura do limbo foliar. As plantas cultivadas à sombra tiveram maior área foliar. Não houve diferenças significativas na densidade de estômatos e tricomas na epiderme abaxial. O maior rendimento de óleo essencial ocorreu nas plantas cultivadas nos tratamentos de 30% e 50% de sombreamento. O componente majoritário do óleo essencial das folhas, independente dos tratamentos a que as plantas foram submetidas foi o hidrocarboneto sesquiterpênico 14-hidróxi-9-epi-(E)- cariofileno. Muitos compostos químicos do óleo essencial alteraram o seu teor em função dos tratamentos e outros compostos só foram observados em níveis específicos de sombreamento. O teor de clorofila “a”, total e carotenoides foram maiores nos tratamentos de 50% e 80% de sombreamento. Os teores de clorofila “b” e razão a/b não sofreram alterações nos diferentes tratamentos. Os diferentes níveis de luminosidade não alteraram valores de cinzas. O teor de lipídios foi menor no tratamento de 80% e o teor de proteínas e nitrogênio aumentou com 50% e 80% de sombreamento. MORPHOPHYSIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS, PRODUCTION AND COMPOSITION OF ESSENTIAL OIL IN LEAVES OF Tetradenia riparia (Hochst) Codd-LAMIACEAE CULTIVATED AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF SHADING. Tetradenia riparia ( Hochst ) Codd- Lamiaceae, popularly known as incense, is used for diseases like malaria, angina, gastroenteritis , headaches , bronchitis , among other diseases. Its essential oil contains approximately 200 components. The diterpenoids have antimicrobial, antispasmodic and antitricomonas activity. Considering the importance of light on plant growth and development the present study aims to evaluate morphological and physiological characteristics and production and composition of essential oil of Tetardenia riparia cultivated at different levels of shading. For this, seedlings were propagated by stem cuttings and grown in mini-greenhouses completely covered with black polyethylene screens produced to provide 30%, 50% and 80 % of levels shading and also grown under open sky. Leaves were evaluated after 150 days of treatment. The plants under open sky had greater foliar blade thickness. Shaded plants had higher leaf area. There were no significant differences in stomata and trichomes in the abaxial epidermis. The highest oil yield occurred in plants grown with 30 % and 50 % shading treatments. The major component of the essential oil, regardless of the treatment, was the sesquiterpenic hydrocarbon 14 - hydroxy -9 - epi - (E) - caryophyllene. Many chemical compounds of the essential oil alter its content according to treatments and other compounds were only observed at specific levels of shading. The total content of chlorophyll, chlorophyll “a” and carotenoids was higher in 50% and 80% treatment shading. The levels of chlorophyll “b” and a / b ratio did not change in different treatments. The different treatments did not change values of ash. The lipid content was lower in the treatment of 80% and increased protein and nitrogen content in 50% and 80% treatment shading. Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior The quality of light can alter morphogenesis of plants through a series of processes mediated by light receptors, the use of nets with different spectral characteristics in the cultivation of certain vegetable crops has become very common in recent years. Against the great influence that the solar radiation on plants, accomplished this research with the objective of evaluating the effect of intensity and spectral quality of light transmitted through the netting photoselectives in the growth and development of curly lettuce plants, as well as in microclimatic elements in a protected environment. The experiment featured four microhabitats: control - without net, net-term Aluminet reflector; Chromatinet netting blue and red, all with 35% shading, fixed at 0.90 m above the bed cultivation. The study was conducted in two stages, the first assessing the effect of net in the development of lettuce seedlings cultivar 'Solaris' floating produced hydroponically in winter season, rated the characteristics: number of leaves, leaf area, and fresh biomass dried roots, stems and leaves, stem length, why shoot / root and specific leaf area, and the second step verifying the influence of nets in growth and development, as well as the anatomy and physiology of lettuce cultivars 'Vera' 'Vanda' and 'Solaris' hydroponically-type solution of laminar flow bench during final production. The growth evaluations were done every seven days in two cropping seasons, autumn and winter, and the parameters were evaluated: number of leaves, leaf area, stem length, fresh weight and dry leaf and root dry weight. At the end of the production cycle were evaluated the anatomical and physiological parameters, which were stomatal density and morphology as well as the pigment content in lettuce leaves. With these results it is evident that the different nets modify microclimatic elements, presenting differences spectral transmittance, absorbance and reflectance. In the seedling stage thermo-reflective and red mesh showed a higher accumulation of biomass in lettuce compared to the environment without net and blue net. At the stage of final production bench observed that the cultivation environment promotes anatomical and physiological changes in lettuce and the environment without shading net showed higher dry biomass. In both steps the experimental blue net showed lower development of lettuce compared to other environments. A qualidade de luz pode alterar a morfogênese das plantas por meio de uma série de processos mediados por receptores de luz. A utilização de malhas com diferentes características espectrais no cultivo de algumas espécies olerícolas tornou-se muito comum nos últimos anos. Diante da grande influência que a radiação solar exerce sobre os vegetais, realizou-se esta pesquisa com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito da intensidade e da qualidade espectral da luz transmitida pelas malhas fotoseletivas no crescimento e desenvolvimento de plantas de alface crespa, assim como nos elementos microclimáticos em ambiente protegido. O experimento contou com quatro microambientes: testemunha sem malha; malha Aluminet termo-refletor; malha Chromatinet azul e malha Chromatinet vermelha, todas com 35% de sombreamento, fixadas a 0,90 m acima dos leitos de cultivo. O estudo foi conduzido em duas etapas distintas, a primeira avaliando o efeito das malhas no desenvolvimento de mudas de alface cultivar Solaris‟ produzidas em sistema hidropônico floating na estação do inverno, avaliado as características: número de folhas, área foliar, fitomassa fresca e seca de raízes, caules e folhas, comprimento do caule, razão parte aérea/raiz e área foliar específica, e a segunda etapa verificando a influência das malhas no crescimento e desenvolvimento, assim como na anatomia e fisiologia de plantas de alface cultivares Vera‟, Vanda‟ e Solaris‟ em sistema hidropônico do tipo fluxo laminar de solução na fase de bancada de produção final. As avaliações de crescimento foram feitas a cada sete dias em duas épocas de cultivo, outono e inverno, e os parâmetros avaliados foram: número de folhas, área foliar, comprimento do caule, fitomassa fresca e seca de folha e fitomassa seca de raiz. Ao final do ciclo de produção avaliou-se os parâmetros anatômicos e fisiológicos, que foram: morfometria e densidade estomática assim como o teor de pigmentos nas folhas de alface. Com os resultados obtidos fica evidente que as diferentes malhas modificam os elementos microclimáticos, apresentando diferenças espectrais de transmitância, absorbância e refletância. Na fase de muda as malhas termo-refletor e malha vermelha apresentaram maior acúmulo de fitomassa em plantas de alface comparado ao ambiente sem malha e malha azul. Na fase de bancada de produção final observou-se que o ambiente de cultivo promove alterações anatômicas e fisiológicas em plantas de alface e o ambiente sem malha de sombreamento apresentou maior acúmulo de fitomassa. Em ambos as etapas experimentais a malha azul apresentou menor desenvolvimento das plantas de alface comparado aos demais ambientes.

Hormones are likely to be important factors modulating the light-dependent anthocyanin accumulation. Here we analyzed anthocyanin contents in hypocotyls of near isogenic Micro-Tom (MT) tomato lines carrying hormone and phytochrome mutations, as single and double-mutant combinations. In order to recapitulate mutant phenotype, exogenous hormone applications were also performed. Anthocyanin accumulation was promoted by exogenous abscisic acid (ABA) and inhibited by gibberellin (GA), in accordance to the reduced anthocyanin contents measured in ABA-deficient (notabilis) and GA-constitutive response (procera) mutants. Exogenous cytokinin also enhanced anthocyanin levels in MT hypocotyls. Although auxin-insensitive diageotropica mutant exhibited higher anthocyanin contents, pharmacological approaches employing exogenous auxin and a transport inhibitor did not support a direct role of the hormone in anthocyanin accumulation. Analysis of mutants exhibiting increased ethylene production (epinastic) or reduced sensitivity (Never ripe), together with pharmacological data obtained from plants treated with the hormone, indicated a limited role for ethylene in anthocyanin contents. Phytochrome-deficiency (aurea) and hormone double-mutant combinations exhibited phenotypes suggesting additive or synergistic interactions, but not fully espistatic ones, in the control of anthocyanin levels in tomato hypocotyls. Our results indicate that phytochrome-mediated anthocyanin accumulation in tomato hypocotyls is modulated by distinct hormone classes via both shared and independent pathways.
