The present article proposal brings an effort to mark the contribution of the educator Anísio Teixeira in the scenario of Brazilian education in the period between 1924 and 1964. As background, we will prioritize two moments in the life of the Brazilian educator Anísio Teixeira, the first one marked by the epistemological rupture with the Catholic Church until he departs from the Education Department of Rio de Janeiro; the second, after his return from Unesco, which culminated in the constitution of the University of Brasilia. In this sense the question that guides this activity is: What legacy for Brazilian education can we visualize in the life of Anísio Teixeira? For that, an analysis of the Anísio as a manager and reformer in the General Inspection of Teaching of Bahia in the 1920s, then, in 1932, in the Federal District highlighting his participation in the manifesto of 1932. And on his return education activities in the 1950s, with emphasis on the performance in Bahia and the constitution of the University of Brasília. The general goal of this essay is to analyze the concept of State from the perspective of the Reformed worldview or Calvinistic theology. To this end, it develops a reflection on the origin of the State by taking into consideration the theological views of the French reformer John Calvin. At the same time, it seeks a connection with the literary output of North American neocalvinism. It also discusses the role of the State in such theoretical-philosophical framework, the theological implications of this institution from a Reformed perspective, and its political and social implications. Martin Luther, in his theological writings, does transpire at various times what is considered the starting point and center of his theology - the justification of sinner by grace and faith. In some reports he describes as originating in an existential mystical experience, and other, more like an intellectual discovery. The article seeks to reflect aspects of the topic from repeated mythical stories in later Lutheranism and writings of the reformer seeking identify the presence of a numinous experience and a hierophany reading that Luther is the sacred text. The Protestant Reformation changed an entire generation with future consequences unimagined by the reformers. The fact is that a reformation invaded all of life inside and outside the church. This radical change, in fact a return to the Scriptures, also affected music and its purpose in the Christian life. This is the purpose of this brief article, namely, to show the thought of the reformers Luther and Calvin on music, in response to the demands of the world in their time, and how they reshaped and restored music as a means of praising God. The purpose of this article is to analyze some of Calvin's writings on the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man in light of the present discussion of the order to be given to the decrees of election and reprobation of men in relation to the fall in God's fulfillment of his purposes. It tries to ascertain whether it is possible to classify the reformer in any of the two main lines of thought, generally known as supralapsarianism and infralapsarianism. The author chooses the negative answer in light of Calvin's approach to the biblical texts studied and his assumption that is not given to man the ability to understand the divine decrees, and how they are performed by his Creator, through the creature's finite and limited reasoning. This article highlights how important it was for the reformers to discuss the use of music in liturgy. It shows that for both Luther and Calvin the emotionally mobilizing power of music should be used in order to lead believers to worship God. Calvin was known for stressing that this power should be instrumental to upbuilding and teaching. He emphasized the production of songs that were easy to be learned and whose lyrics led to meditation upon God and God's works. The singing of psalms and other biblical passages, metrified and adapted to the Christian context, proved to be the most adequate means to meet this goal and it resulted in the production of the work that became known as the Geneva Psalter. In this second and final article about the first minister of Brazil, Costa describes aspects of the hard work of Rev. Conceição, especially in São Paulo, suffered persecution, the precariousness of his health, and the condition of his parallel missionary perspective in relation to foreign missionaries. Here we have outlined the aspects of his "missionary-ministry philosophy" and the personality of the native reformer who gave himself to the Protestant cause in our country, desiring, until the end of his life, a spiritual reform through knowledge of God's grace in Christ Jesus. José Manoel da Conceição, the first Protestant minister of Brazil, which, due to his teachings, even before joining the Protestant faith, was known as "Protestant priest. The Protestant Reformation of XVI century was one of the events that marked the Church history, sharing Occidental Christianity between Catholics and Protestants. This article is about the question of the loan to interest in the conception of John Calvin, the reformador of Geneva. Faced with a financial and economic movement that would not be able to more come back to the restricted agricultural epoch. To practical of the loan to interest existed very before of Calvin be born. In this historical and exegetical article, the author provides a historical analysis of different schools of interpretation on the book of Psalms. He begins by demonstrating how von Rad's influence in this question was a transitional landmark in the history of interpretation, when he rejected Gunkel's traditional historical-critical interpretation and promoted Mowinckel's perspective, which connects the interpretation of the Psalms not to their authors, but to the environment of Israelite worship. Advancing in this proposal, Bosma makes an exposition of the traditional methods of interpretation of the Psalms, such as the "mirror of the soul" and the Psalms as "human response". He propounds a reading of the text based on N. H. Ridderbos' proposal, by removing the excesses of each of these interpretations without appealing to the criteria of the historical-critical schools. In this article F. Solano Portela presents an overview of Girolamo Savonarola's life (1452-1498) and message. His main thesis is that his status as a pre-reformer has been exaggerated, especially by his Protestant biographers. After presenting the source material available to the researcher of Savonarola and of his work in Florence, he describes the key points in Savonarola's life and the historical setting in medieval Italy. Continuing, Portela comments on Savonarola's preaching, message, and work by comparing these with Luther and Calvin's. He concludes showing that, in this comparison, there are significant and important differences of approach and doctrine that should prevent the classification of Savonarola as a reformer or pre-reformer, in the strict sense of the term. Portela writes that Savonarola should be recognized as someone that properly identified and courageously confronted the evils of his time. Nevertheless, his attempt at moral and political reforms did not address the real issue. This issue, correctly discerned by Luther and Calvin, was the need for a return to the preaching and doctrines of the Bible as the means to a divine transformation of hearts. According to Portela, spiritual regeneration is what made possible the long lasting changes in life style, church structure and political order achieved through the work of the real reformers.
