All cities are full of contradictions. Novo Hamburgo, for example, constitutes a mid-sized city in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre (RMPA), in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. This city arose from German colonization in the beginning of the 19th century, went through a phase of industrial expansion in the 20th century, and faced an economic slowdown with national and international competition by the end of that same century. All those processes revealed the contradictions among the agents producing urban spaces that struggle for their hegemony. In this context, this research tries to identify and debate the actions of the main agents producing the urban space in Novo Hamburgo, as well as describe their main features. To do so, this research was developed using bibliographical data survey, official documents, fieldwork, and data consolidation in clerk work. This work showed contradictions and interests among the different agents producing urban spaces, having the State as the main agent in the urban formation and expansion of the city. The purpose of the current study was to investigate the development of a woman Brazilian taekwondo expert coach. Based on the literature, a semi-structured interview on the coach development was used for the data collection, which was analyzed according to the content analysis method with a deductive approach. In addition, other relevant themes about the development of the woman coach emerged inductively during the data analysis. The results showed different variables that contributed to the coach development, such as personal characteristics, formal learning, non-formal learning, informal learning and positive support from family and friends. The influence of her career as a high-performance athlete stands out, as well as the knowledge of the English language, which contributed and facilitated the woman coach's performance during international competitions. In conclusion, the present study provides valuable information about the shortage of expert woman coaches in Brazilian taekwondo, which may have significant implications for the taekwondo development and for the promotion of gender equality in the sport. Bibliometric study with the objective of knowing the current state of the field of Creative Economy in international research. From the quantitative study of 3.084 articles and the qualitative study of 56 articles on the Scopus base, it is concluded that the paradigm of the creative industry is in accordance with the definitions of the British Council (2005), having defined sectors and recurring problems of an interdisciplinary character that undergo revisions, criticisms and adjustments. It is questioned if such a paradigm would not be in force only in the countries represented in the sample and if other countries, with different economic, social and cultural realities could contribute to the revision or expansion of this paradigm. The objective is to analyze the export performance of the national soy complex in the face of its competition in the foreign market, covering the period from 2000 to 2019. The data were collected on the Comex Stat portal, of the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secretaria de Comércio Exterior [Secex]) of the Ministry of Development Industry and Commerce (MDIC), free on board (FOB) data in dollars; the Institute for Applied Economic Research (Instituto de Pesquisa Econômica Aplicada [Ipea]) and the United Nations Commodity Trade Statistics Database (UN Comtrade). To this end, the construction of international trade indicators was used. The results show that Brazil has a symmetric and Vollrath revealed comparative advantage and revealed competitiveness for all items inherent to the soy complex in the entire period studied. With regard to the exporting effort, it was found that the soy complex's exports are concentrated in the commercialization of the soybean. Regarding the regional orientation, it was found that soybean grain exports are oriented to China and Spain, soybean oil to India, and soybean meal to France and Netherlands. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to investigate the implications caused by the inclusion of karate in the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games, with regard to Critical Success Factors (FCS) and the development of karate. For this, semi- structured interviews were carried out with athletes, former athletes, coaches and managers with experience in international sport events. The data obtained were analyzed using content analysis and descriptive statistics. The results allowed to conclude that the inclusion of karate in the Olympic Games had effects on the FCS and consequent development of this combat sport. The provision of financial resources for this sport, the participation and organization of national and international competitions, support for athletes, among others, are factors of great relevance in this context. Furthermore, it is expected that this research will provide initial knowledge for those who are interested in the best development of karate and especially the search for international sporting success in this sport, in addition to contributing to other studies related to existing theoretical models or to the specificities of the sport / the context of the interviewees. This text is the result of a research mainly carried out from the press and legislation of the period. By using this methodology, we can see how the MPLA implemented “marxism” during its ideological orientation during the Cold War. Thus, MPLA used sports to involve Angolans. As regards domestic sports events, domestic championships were used to promote “socialist” ideology and to convey political messages. As for international competitions, Angolan participation aimed to achieve three fundamental goals: to demonstrate its sovereignty to the world, to show solidarity with the countries of its ideological line and, last but not least, to gain international competitive experience. We aim to analyze here China's position in the international political economy of ICT relative to the US. To this end, we consider competition in the ICT ecosystem - which is supported by close ties between the state and capital - under three dimensions: economic, military, and in international surveillance. We postulate that the global telecommunication infrastructure's renewal puts at stake the redefinition of boundaries between international surveillance systems and the repositioning of tech firms and national economies in the modern industrial system, while it consecrates critical civilian infrastructure as a central target in military calculations. Imported textile products are a concern due to their great proliferation that impacts Brazilian trade, causing many companies to lose market or even close their doors. Seeking to understand the performance of the Cap Seridó textile industries in the face of internationalization of competition, this research outlined the socioeconomic profile of the managers of hat shops and investigated the individual entrepreneurial orientation, the capacity for innovation and the performance of these small hat manufacturers in the region of Seridó of Rio Grande do Norte. For this, the data collection instrument used was a closed questionnaire adapted from Maske (2012) with questions that sought to understand the entrepreneurial profile and the capacity of innovation of the managers of the hatchery, investigating the Individual Entrepreneurial Orientation - OIE and the performance of the small manufacturers of caps in the Seridó region of Rio Grande do Norte on a Likert scale, containing seven points. After applying the questionnaire, it was decided to carry out the analyzes in the form of descriptive statistics, using parameters such as median, mean and the coefficients of agreement and disagreement. Among the results, it was possible to verify that the managers of the cap industries of the Seridó pole have few characteristics of individual entrepreneurial orientation and do not present innovative behavior. Regarding the verification of the performance of bonnets, both in relation to national competition and international competition. It was concluded that the absence of innovative behavior and attitudes related to the OIE, despite not influencing the performance of these small cap factories in the face of national competition, negatively influence their performance with international competition. The European PAC (Política Agrícola Comum - Common Agricultural Policy) and Agribusiness at Polo Juazeiro / Petrolina are contradictory and antagonistic models of agriculture, but with a broad relationship between them, since, while encouraging business agriculture, they point out, in their speeches, that the high production is based on wiping out hunger and improve the quality of life. Thus, the present study has taken in Spain - Santiago de Compostela and Polo Juazeiro / Petrolina because it understands that it is only possible to recognize the place within the global, that is, in the totality of relationships. In this sense, this study aims to understand how the European Common Agricultural Policy goes against Regulation 834/2007 regarding organic production, encouraging an increase in production and productivity through the use of pesticides both in the domestic market and, especially, in the external market, as is the case of Polo Juazeiro / Petrolina and Santiago de Compostela ES. As a methodological path, a biographical survey was used about the theme; documentary research and fieldwork. As a result, it is illustrated that the concreteness of agriculture aimed at the external market in other countries, allowed the insertion in the global economy through the intervention of the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union, guided by the free trade policy, which is characterized for shaping agricultural production according to the requirements of the companies that control the world food market. This article aims to present a proposal recently designed by students of the Architecture and Urbanism Course of the Federal University of Santa Maria Campus of Cachoeira do Sul in an international competition of architecture and design promoted by the portal Volume Zero, "UnBox 2017", wich proposed ways to creatively rethink the discard of containers in the contemporary world. The final result was punctuated by a distinguished architecture value, especially due to the flexibility of its program and its deployment location. However, its highest value is its social importance: the materiality is mainly composed of reused elements - containers and plastic drums (chosen precisely because of its reusable character, just as containers) -, making it environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. Another pertinence factor to be explored is the resulting knowledge to the students through the participation in competitions of architecture and design. Therefore, the practice of participation in competitions that stimulate creativity, innovation and the search for tools for sustainable development is considered totally positive. Chami's method for calculating how much of an exporter's market share change can be attributed to each competitor has regularly been applied in the literature, but it has not been related to any theory yet. Here, an attempt is made to examine the trade models that can provide the theoretical foundations for the method, clarifying the assumptions underlying its results.
