Laryngeal polyps are the most frequent benign tumors of the vocal folds. The most characteristic clinical sign is dominated by the sudden onset of dysphonia which becomes permanent in time. Vocal abuse is incriminated in literature as the predominant etiological factor. Often, the vocal fold polyp is unilateral, situated in the membranous part of the vocal fold, and can reach an ample size, leading to consecutive glottis obstruction. The authors present the main therapeutic approach applied on a patient admitted in the clinic with this benign pathology. The therapeutic management consisted in complete tumor resection using endoscopic "cold steel"techniques combined with laser CO2, followed by postoperative speech therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
