uly 24, 2022 is the anniversary date of the birth of Natalya Vasilievna Lukina – corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doctor of biological sciences, professor, prominent scientist in forest ecology, forest science and forest soil science, director of the Center for Forest Ecology and Productivity of the Russian Academy of Sciences, chairman of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on forests, editor-in-chief of the journals “Russian Journal of Forest Science” and “Forest Science Issues”. The article summarizes the main directions of scientific, scientific-organizational and expert activities of N. V. Lukina.

The reduction in the number of deposits reaching the modern erosional surface has led to the need to de-velop and improve the geochemical exploration methods for searching for deposits under deep cover. They are focused on the identification of gas and lithochemical halos of indirect (CO2, H2, He, NH4+, K+ ions, etc.) and direct indicators (Au, Pb, Cu, etc.) for buried ore bodies and blind deposits. The data of experimental and methodical works for numerous deposits of different genesis suggest that the formation of superimposed halos of these two groups of indicators of ore-forming environment pro-ceeds by a single mechanism. Their joint migration to the day surface and the subsequent unloading into the atmosphere form halos in the subsurface air, where the concentration of the indicative elements many times exceeds the geochemical background. That allows laser analytical equipment used in meteorology (lidars, correlation spectrometers, etc.) to be applied during fieldwork to monitor the composition of the atmosphere.

To assess the transfer of macro (K, P, S, Mg, Ca, as well as Si, Na, Fe, Al, Mn and Ti) and microelements (Zn, Ba, Cu, Sr, Mo, as well as As, Zr, Pb, Co, Ni, V and Cr) from Luvic Chernozems (Aric, Loamic, Pachic) into agricultural plants, we studied the inventories of chemical elements in three agrocenoses (wheat, soybean, Galega orientalis Lam. and Bromopsis inermis Leyss grass mixtures) from the Plavsk upland (Tula Region). This territory is subjected to intensive industrial and agricultural impacts: it is 40 km away from the town of Shchekino with a nitrogen fertilizer plant and a thermal power plant, 60 km away from Tula with large metallurgical enterprises, 70 km away from the town of Novomoskovsk with several chemical enterprises and state district power plant. In soils, the total content of elements was determined by the X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. The elemental composition of plants after autoclave decomposition with a mixture of concentrated nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide and the content of the bioavailable fraction (extracted by an ammonium acetate buffer with pH 4.8) of elements in soil were estimated by the atomic emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma. In topsoil (a 10-cm layer), maximal inventories are typical for total Si (40 ± 4 kg/m2), Al (7.0 ± 0.8 kg/m2) and Fe (3.4 ± 0.3 kg/m2) and for bioavailable Ca (570 ± 48 g/m2), Mg (43 ± 4 g/m2), K (22 ± 6 g/m2). In plants, the main inventories (g/m2) of K, P, S, Mg, Si, Mn, Zn, Ba, Cu, Mo occur in the above ground phytomass. The most effectively plants assimilate bioavailable fractions of K, P, Ti, Mo, As, Zr, V. Based on the resource method for soil quality assessment, the studied Chernozems are characterized by a low level of Ni contamination, a moderate supply of bioavailable K with a lack of bioavailable P.

Technogenesis is a global process affecting all geospheric shells of the Earth. Indication of the impact of industrial facilities is carried out using a set of methods, including biogeochemical studies and monitoring. Their organization requires constant development and improvement of both technical means of analysis and methodological approaches; scientists of the entire world community are making efforts to search for new indicator objects that most adequately reflect the technological consequences for the environment and public health. Water can be used as such an indicator. Water has enormous ecological functions in general and special functions for a living organism, but, in spite of the significant role and long history of research, its chemical composition is poorly studied. 0,0003 % of Earth’s resources accounts for water referring to «biological water» by the definition of VI. Vernadsky. However, the change in its elemental composition is the most objective indicator of the technogenic transformation that occurs under the influence of various industrial objects. The works showing the background chemical composition of this resource are the basis for organization of monitoring research in the areas of intensive man-made pressure. The relevance of the study is determined by the lack of detailed study of a wide range of chemical elements in the composition of individual organs and tissues of living organisms, including the water in them. This substance reflects the chemical composition of environment and may be the subject to monitoring. The chemical proximity of the organism of the domestic pig to the human’s one allows obtaining a new tool for assessing the quality of the human places of residence, which directly assesses the body, which will significantly increase the objectivity of research. The aim of the work is to study the chemical composition of biological water of individual organs and tissues, on the example of domestic pigs, to obtain background characteristics for biogeochemical monitoring. The methods. Organs and tissues of seven-month domestic pig was sampled in Uspenka village, Pavlodar region (Kazakhstan) just after the slaughter and packed in plastics packages. Biological water was exudated by vacuum sublimation method upon the application of heat. The exudate was analyzed in certificated scientific-education center «Water» at Tomsk Polytechnic University by the method of inductively coupled plasma according to the certified HCAM 480X method with NeXION 300D spectrometer. Result. The authors have studied the composition and characteristics of distribution of 70 chemical elements in biological water, separated by vacuum sublimation from the organs and tissues of the domestic pig, selected on the territory of the conditionally environmentally friendly village Uspenka, Pavlodar region. The interrelation between the elemental composition of the biological fluid and the physiological functions of the organs of the animals studied as well as the composition of the habitat was revealed.

The aim of the study is to evaluate the landscape and technogenic factors of the formation of biogeochemical anomalies of As, Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Pb, Sb and Zn in the leaves of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale). The plants of the municipal districts of Sokolinaya Gora, Perovo, Ivanovo, Novogireevo, Veshnyaki, Novokosino and Kosino-Ukhtomsky of the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow were studied. Concentrations of heavy metals and metalloids (HM) in washed plant samples were determined by atomic absorption method. The biogeochemical specialization of dandelion leaves in the city relatively to the background landscapes is following: Mo13,5Cd4,8Pb4,5Fe4,5As3,5Sb3,0Cu1,3. Technogenic and landscape factors of accumulation and depletion of HM in leaves are determined by tree-based models in the SPLUS software. The most significant factors are the physical and chemical properties of soils. However some other landscape factors could also influence, for example soil flooding for Pb, landscape and geochemical position for Mn, Fe. Technogenic factors that could influence on HM distribution are functional zoning (Cu, Cd, Zn), atmospheric deposition of HM - Fe, Cd, Mo, vehicle emissions - Pb, Fe.

The JASMINE numerical complex based on the FEMAO model of the Arctic Ocean and the BFM pelagic ecosystem model is used for integrated modeling of hydrodynamic, thermodynamic, and biogeochemical processes in the White Sea. The variation of the White Sea ecosystems under different climatic conditions, i. e., a warm, cold, and an average (close to multiannual average) year, is studied by numerical experiments. Several years are considered in detail: the warm 2013 and the cold 1994, including the surface layer and the water column temperature, the distribution of chlorophyll a, primary production. We reveal some regularities and explain the observed dependencies in the warm and the cold year. The phenomenon of warm, cold, and average years in the biogeochemical processes in the White Sea is influenced by global oscillations in the atmosphere, mainly the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO). The events of the North Atlantic oscillation (both positive and negative) correspond to positive and negative deviations of the surface layer temperature of the White Sea. NAO is generated by the pressure difference between the Icelandic minimum and the Azores maximum, which, in turn, amplifies the Western transport in the Northern hemisphere, redistribution of heat and moisture. According to the numerical experiments, the key period of the year for the pelagic ecosystem dynamics is May. It is shown to be tightly connected to the later biogeochemical processes during the summer.

In connection with increasing flow of noble metals dispersion in river waterways at high transit speed, it seems relevant to distinguish between man-made and natural migration and determine its potential. The main aim of the study is to assess noble metals (Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Os, Ir, Pt, Au) migration potential of Mongol-Okhotsk gold belt in relation to oxidized and reduced forms of biogeochemical components in the Upper and Middle Amur region province. To this effect, the author has developed and tested the methods for determining the oxidized C[NMn+] forms, reduced C[NM] forms, their relations C[NMn+]/C[NM], and evaluating the natural migration potential [ E[migr]=0,059/n * lg(C[a NMn+]/ C[q NM] ].
