Declining contribution to employment of the steel industry, which used to be the number-one sector in the city of Durgapur (India), leads to a search for alternative employment sources. The article aims to identify the criteria and sub-criteria to reveal the business competence through Porter’s model and ranking of business competence of each industry through the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) for Durgapur. Porter’s Five Forces Framework is used as the methodological basis to find the best alternate industry option based on their competitive position and provides the framework and subsequent criteria to analyse competitiveness. The key research method is the analytical hierarchy process that helps to measure the criteria qualitatively. The empirical evidence comes from the survey of 126 respondents: 36 experts who are well-versed in the industrial development of the city and fixed the weightage of the criteria through the AHP, and 90 industry-specific experts provide the range value for each criterion for each industry, which is used to generate the final value. The paper demonstrates the quantitative framework to establish the competition level of major industries in Durgapur, the strategic framework to support the industrial transition, and a brief about their dual nature of competition. We have figured out nine employment-generating industrial sectors within the city of Durgapur, among which are steel production, information technology (IT), education, healthcare, etc. The IT industry was found to be the most competitive sector that provided additional employment opportunities; it was followed by non-metal production, healthcare, and education.

The purpose of the present study is to determine the characteristics of time evolution of various cosmological quantities, based on four models constructed for a universe undergoing accelerated expansion. This formulation is done in the framework of Kaluza-Klein space-time, for zero spatial curvature. To solve the field equations, an ansatz is chosen for each model in such a way that it leads to a signature flip of the deceleration parameter, to ensure its consistency with recent astrophysical observations indicating a change from a decelerated expansion to an accelerated expansion of the universe. Based on these four models, time evolutions of several cosmological parameters are obtained and their variations are shown graphically against time. The arbitrary constants, associated with each model, are so tuned that the model correctly predicts the values of the Hubble parameter, deceleration parameter, energy density and gravitational constant at the present time. The findings from these models are consistent with each other, and they are in agreement with the observed features. The gravitational constant (G) shows a rapid fall in the early universe, followed by an extremely slow rise which continues at the present time. Taking (G) as a constant in two of the four models, the cosmological constant is found to be independent of time. A significant finding is that the signature flip of the deceleration parameter almost coincides with the signature flip of the cosmological constant (Λ), pointing towards a relation between the accelerated expansion and the dark energy which is represented by Λ. Other plots with respect to Λ also depict dark energy’s role in governing cosmic evolution. Considering its dynamical nature, Λ is referred to as cosmological term (instead of cosmological constant) in the text. Contrary to the common trend of using arbitrary units, the SI units for all measurable quantities are used.

BACKGROUND: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is actively implemented in medicine. Since medical students are future physicians, an assessment of their awareness and attitudes toward AI is important. AIM: To compare the degree of awareness and attitudes toward AI among Russian-speaking students of the Orenburg State Medical University (OrSMU) from the Russian Federation and English-speaking students from the Republic of India. METHODS: From March 12 to 25, 2023, a voluntary anonymous survey (28 questions) was offered to OrSMU students using the Google Forms platform. An English-language version was prepared for foreign students. All responses were analyzed statistically (calculation of mean values using Likert scale, Students t-test, and Pearsons chi-square test). RESULTS: A total of 331 students participated in the survey, including 214 Russian-speaking and 117 English-speaking participants (127 males, 202 females, and two did not indicate gender). All participants were divided into 2 subgroups: junior (13 years, 200 participants) and senior year (46 years, 131 participants) students. The vast majority of respondents (92.3%) knew what AI is, with a higher percentage (p0.001) among Russian-speaking students (95.8%) versus English-speaking students (84.6%). Only 34.1% of Russian-speaking and 46.2% of English-speaking students (p=0.032) were aware of the possibility of using AI in medicine. A total of 28.5% and 23.4% of Russian-speaking and 44.4% and 38.5% of English-speaking respondents, respectively, were aware of the use of AI in diagnostic radiology and pathological anatomy (p=0.004). Students expressed the greatest agreement with the statement that AI will play a significant role in the development and support of medicine in the future (mean Likert scale value of 4.23). Students were the least likely to agree with the statement that AIs diagnostic abilities are superior to the human physicians clinical experience (mean of 2.84). In the case of a disagreement between the AI and the physician, 76.7% of respondents would trust the latter to make the final decision. Most respondents considered diagnostic radiology, electrocardiogram analysis, and pathological anatomy to be promising areas for the use of AI (91.3%, 71.3%, and 70.4%, respectively). For the rest of the statements about attitudes toward AI, the average values ranged from 3.63 to 4.33. Among the disadvantages of using AI, the threat of data leakage was reported. The advantages were quick data analysis and assistance in diagnosis. CONCLUSIONS: English-speaking students were more aware of the use of AI in medicine, whereas students from Russia showed a more positive attitude toward AI. However, in the case of a disagreement between the physician and the AI, both groups of respondents would trust the physician to make the decision.

Steel structures are commonly utilized in vast areas in industries, and also now a days they are used in residential settings as well. Structures made of steel is a better alternative as their constructions have high strength, light weight and quick compared to other construction materials. Steel structure degradation is frequently related to an engineering system's underperformance and leads to collapse. Therefore, it is essential to identify the problem and take remedial steps to make sure that structures function as intended throughout their design lives. Among the best non-destructive assessment methods for finding problems is acoustic emission (AE). The current study evaluates the available literature on this method in a few major areas and discusses historical advances in each category. The pros and cons of each approach are discussed, and future study directions are suggested. This review examines the fundamental Acoustic Emission techniques and contemporary research to identify damage in different types of steel structures using various localization approaches. This research aims to find the ideal placement for a real-time sensor to detect deterioration in a steel-framed construction. Finally, the artificial intelligence techniques used to identify deterioration in the steel frame construction are discussed.

The experiment was conducted with two IRRI lines and two BRRI varieties at the research field of Plant Physiology Division of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur during October 2010 to September 2011 in Boro season to study the low temperature as cold tolerance effect on rice at vegetative and reproductive stages. All the genotypes (IR77496-31-2-1-3-1, IR62266-42-6-2, BRRI dhan28 and BRRI dhan36) of transplanting date 30 November, 15 December and 30 December showed higher yield except 15 November transplanted rice. The 15-November transplanted rice appeared with a significant cold in the reproductive stage. Moreover, BRRI dhan28 was not found to observe as tolerant to low temperature in reproductive stage, and produced the lowest yield 0.71 t/ha and highest (39.47%) sterility. BRRI dhan36 resulted yield 2.18 t/ha and exerted its ability to withstand the jolt of cold to some extent at the reproductive phase and IR62266-42-6-2 pronounced significantly better performance compared to BRRI dhan36. The IR77496-31-2-1-3-1 genotype exhibited the highest yield (4.27 t/ha) and marked as tolerant to cold temperature. All the genotypes performed the highest sterility percentages on 15-November transplanted rice except the genotype of IR77496-31-2-1-3-1 with lower sterility. Vegetative and reproductive stages were encountered at cold temperature in the month of January, 2011. The panicle initiation stage was fallen with (13.1 °C) low temperature and maximum temperature (25.6 °C) in 2nd week of February, 2011 during grain formation stage. Number of grains was naturally degenerated in growth stages where reduction division stage or pollen formation was happened in booting stage. Earliest transplanted date (15 November) revealed the shortest plant height and panicle length at low temperature. Duration of PI, growth and maturity stages were decreased with the advancement of transplanting dates of 30 November, 15 December and 30 December.

The works of three writers from northeast India, Temsula Aos These Hills Called Home , Mamang Dais Stupid Cupid and Anjum Hasans Lunatic in my Head that cover the problem of identity in relation to the insider - outsider politics in the region are examined. The northeast India is in many ways a miniature India because it houses people from various ethnicity and linguistic groups. However, much of the immigration took place after the East India Company annexed the northeast region starting from 1826. The extraction of the resources and subjugation of the people in this region by the colonisers and later by successive Indian governments has left an indelible mark of cultural imperialism triggering social haemorrhage. This changing position of the insider - outsider is not only a part of the political discourse but also the literature that is produced in this region. The analysis of the writings of Temsula Ao, Mamang Dai, and Anjum Hasan allows to look at the problem from two perspectives: the indigenous population experiencing anxiety and leading various violent campaigns to expel so-called outsiders, and the northeasterners facing similar racial prejudices when visiting mainland India and being subjected to derogatory racial slurs.
